Silvia stared at Neil in displeasure.
âNeil, let Blanche go! You have no right to confine her!â
Neil remained indifferent. âWho do you think you are? Why should I listen to you and let her go?â
She froze briefly and sternly said, âIâm Blancheâs boss. Itâs my job to protect her. Even if she did something wrong, itâs not your place to detain her!â
As Silvia got angrier, Neilâs gaze grew colder. She never cared about his feelings, yet she cared so much about a regular subordinate.
âIâll release her in a few days. You can go back.â
She frowned and said, âNo! I want to take her with me right now!â
âNot now!â
âWhy do you want to keep her?! If you donât let her go this instant, Iâll call the police!â
As soon as she finished speaking, Neil scowled. âSilvia, you seem to care more about an ordinary employee than me. I really wonder if you ever loved me!â
Silvia glared at him. âDonât change the subject. Blanche is coming with me today!â
He felt irritated. âIâve told you that itâs not possible!â
With that, he walked past her and left.
She tried to catch up, but Curtis blocked her way.
âMiss Pond, please donât push Mr. Remus any further. He has his reasons.â
Silvia frowned. âWhat possible reason could he have to lock up my employee?! Thatâs absurd!â
âDid you know that Mr. Remusâs mother met with an accident because Blancheâs brother pushed her onto the road? Sheâs still in the hospital.â
She was momentarily stunned. âHow could I have known? Besides, what does Blanche have to do with her brotherâs actions?â
Curtis sighed. âDonât worry. Mr. Remus wonât harm her. Sheâll return in a few days.â
Silvia had more to say, but Curtis had already walked away.
Watching the two of them leave, she remained silent and drove back to Elm Bay.
She never heard about Blanche having a brother. Even if he caused Melanieâs accident, Neil should be dealing with him instead of her.
With that in mind, Silvia decided to rescue Blanche herself!
She changed into an all-black getup and prepared to go out. Just then, the mansion plunged into darkness.
It looked like her attacker was a skilled fighter!
Silvia turned around and fought the attacker in the darkness.
She furrowed her brows. The attacker did not seem like an assassin. It felt more like he was testing her.
Her expression changed when she realized this. Her identity might have been exposed.
