Silvia rolled her eyes. âSo, if youâre out all night, do you expect me to stay up and wait for you?â
âI wonât.â
âWhat?â
âI wonât be out all night.â
It sounded like a promise, but she ignored him. She yawned and said, âWhatever. Can I go back to sleep now?â
Seeing that she was about to doze off again, Neil yelled, âSilvia Pond!â
âWhat now?!â
He sensed her irritation and angrily said, âI drank quite a few glasses tonight, so I want you to help me wash up.â
Silvia took a deep breath and barely contained her desire to kick him out. She got up reluctantly and pushed him toward the bathroom.
She squeezed some toothpaste onto the toothbrush with a yawn and said, âTake it!â
After Neil brushed his teeth, she grabbed a towel and wiped his face aggressively. It was almost as if she was trying to scrub his skin off.
He frowned and coldly asked, âCanât you be gentler?â
âSorry, Iâve always been quite strong since I was a child. I canât help it.â
Neil was at a loss for words.
After she gave him a quick wash, Silvia hurriedly tucked him in bed and switched off the bedroom light.
As she lay down, he suddenly said, âSilvia, Iâm sorry for what happened last time. I shouldnât have doubted you.â
He had initially considered investigating the man she had dinner with but decided against it. He was concerned that it might escalate their conflict if she found out.
After a long silence, Silvia whispered, âJust sleep.â
When she woke up the next morning, he had already left the bedroom.
She left the bedroom after freshening up and found him on a phone call in the living room.
He was dressed in a gray sweater and black trousers, which softened his unfriendly appearance.
Silvia glanced at him briefly and made her way to the kitchen.
She returned once she prepared breakfast and saw Neil hanging up.
âHenry wants to treat you to lunch as an apology. Would you like to go?â
She was taken aback. They previously had an unpleasant conversation at MY Corporationâs entrance, yet Henry still wanted to apologize to her?
However, she frowned when she thought of Snow.
âNo. I donât want to see Snow.â
Following a brief silence, Neil revealed, âHenry and Snow broke up.â
Silvia cocked an eyebrow in surprise. âWell, thatâs none of my concern. You didnât have to tell me.â
He felt a little helpless and said, âIâm not lying. Henry plans to apologize to Dulcie as well, so to be exact, he wants to treat both of you to a meal.â
âIs he out of his mind?â
Neil was left speechless.
âYou really donât want to go?â
She looked at him skeptically. âDo you want me to go?â
âIf you donât want to, I wonât force you.â
âAlright, I donât want to go.â
They finished breakfast in silence. Silvia then loaded the dishes into the dishwasher and spoke to Neil with indifference, âI have some business today.
I wonât be back for lunch, so tell the housekeeper that she doesnât need to prepare anything for me.â
âWhat kind of business?â
Silvia frowned. âItâs personal, and I donât have to report to you. But if youâre that curious, you can always arrange for someone to keep an eye on me.â

âSilvia, I didnât hire anyone to watch you.â
âThen tell me, how did you know I had dinner with a man last time?â
