"You look like you've seen a ghost," voices Sage. Nat and Ethan turn and look at me, concerned expressions on their faces.
I haven't spoken a word since the morning. My first three classes were spent of me going through a cycle of emotions. I began feeling incredibly guilty, then I got angry, and afterwards I was scared. To say I was pretty close to crying would be an understatement but the bell would ring and I would have to go to my next class and then the cycle would start again.
Now, lunch time, I've come up with a conclusion on what to feel. Nothing. Because although what I did might have been seen as fucked up by the almighty Aaron Reeves, he deserved it. It wasn't even me who uploaded the voic-over so it's not even my fault people hate him now. Lastly it was something I've wanted; for people to know what kind of person he was and now everyone does.
"Aaron knows it was me. He remembers and he confronted me about it," I respond in a calmer tone than expected.
Sage nearly chokes as Nat's eyes bulge out.
"What do you mean he confronted you," remarks Ethan slowly.
"I mean he locked me in the bathroom and called me out on it. He even remembers my name."
"Jesus fuck," curses Sage.
"Was he mad?"
"Of course he was mad. He basically told me he was getting revenge on me or whatever."
"Revenge?" Nat responds alarmed.
"Well kind of, I guess. He said he was going to prove to everyone that bad boys are romantic and then he stormed off."
"You need to watch out Lux, what if he does something to you," says Sage.
I roll my eyes. "What could he possibly do to me?"
Sage shrugs and chuggs his milk. When he's done he wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and says, "Who knows but Aaron Reeves is not someone to mess with."
"I agree," Nat adds as Mandy makes he way to our table.
"Hey guys," she says in her usual chirpy tone that never fails to annoy me.
We all mumble a hello toward her way and she sits down, a smile on her face.
"So guess what," she blurts out excitedly.
"What," responds Ethan.
"Wesley Dale just asked me to homecoming."
"Good for you," I say.
"Thanks Lux, I know you still don't have a date so its good you're still happy for me despite your dilemma."
I narrow my eyes at her.
"I don't need a date to go to homecoming Mandy," I respond through gritted teeth. "Besides, Nat and I already agreed to go together."
"Oh is that so? Nat you haven't gotten a date either? I can find you one if you want," she responds turning her attention solely to Natalie.
"Thanks but I'm good Mandy," responds Nat. "Lux and I had already agreed on this from long ago."
Mandy pouts her lips then shrugs. "Oh well, what a shame. At least I know my favorite couple is going to homecoming, isn't that right boys?"
Sage and Ethan stare at each other before turning back to Mandy.
"Actually Mandy, we can't go. I work that night," responds Ethan.
"Work?" She replies outraged. "You can't go to work. Its homecoming!"
"Sorry," says Ethan.
Mandy sighs exaggeratedly. "Oh this homecoming is gonna be sad. Oh well. I guess I should go. I'll see you all around." Mandy gets up, gives us one last smile before walking away.
"Finally," I say once she's gone.
"Lux, be nice," scolds Sage.
"I'm sorry I just can't stand her. She's so annoying."
"Agree," says Nat. "Anyway I need to go, I have a test for precal that I need to study for."
"Alright, bye Nat. Good luck."
"Thanks, I'm gonna need it," she replies before walking off.
"So are you gonna do anything about the Aaron Reeves problem?" asks Ethan.
"No, there's nothing to do. Whats done is done."
"Well you got that right," responds Sage then points his finger behind me.
I turn around and find Giana and her friends posting up posters on the billboard next to the line of the cafeteria. There's a picture of Aaron Reeves and some words under his picture. I can't read them but I doubt its anything good.
"Do you think she can get in trouble for that?" Ethan asks.
Sage shrugs. "Not sure. If it doesn't say anything bad then probably not but I honestly have no idea."
"I'm gonna go talk to her," I say and stand up.
"What are you gonna say?"
"I'll know when I get to her," I reply and walk toward her.
When I get there if Gianna and her friends are talking in low voices and quietly agree on something. I clear my throat and they all turned around to look at me.
"What do you want?" Giana asks.
"Can we talk?" I I ask.
"Why?" Giana replies.
I sigh and roll my eyes. "Why did you put that up on Instagram?" I ask.
"Because people deserve to know the truth."
"You do realize what you did right? You're basically ruining his life with that post."
"Me?" Giana questions. "Oh girl, please. The one that ruined his life was you. I'm simply the messenger."
"This is in no way my fault. You posted the voice-over."
"And you recorded it. If it weren't for you none of this would have happened. Thank you for that Lexi."
"Its Lux."
"Who cares," Giana responds before her and her friends walk away and I am left alone, stunned.
I walk back to Sage and Ethan.
"What happened?" they ask.
"Be honest, do you think its my fault everything that is happening to Aaron Reeves?"
"Well, not entirely."
"So it is my fault?"
"No, well I mean yes. Kind of," replies Sage. "Mostly its his fault for being the way he is. But you did have something to do with it."
"Fuck," I say.
"I mean its not all you fault."
"I gotta go."
"Where are you going?"
"To fix this."
well hey! thanks for reading this story so far, it really means a lot. i just want to quickly apologize because i did make a mistake in this story. idk why but for some reason as i wrote the chapters i kept writing alex instead of aaron and didn't realize it until now. just as a quick note, the main guy's name is aaron reeves not alex. so sorry for the mix up!
anyways this was more of a filler chapter, but the next chapter will definitely be when the fun begins! Hopefully I don't take as long to write it, keep in mind I'm drowning in school work atm which is why this chapter is vv late
