Camie made it to the pharmacy in three minutes instead of ten. Even she was impressed by this. Seeing her in such a rush, the pharmacist looked at her with questioning eyes:
"Is everything okay, Camie?"
The latter needed a few seconds to calm down before she could talk:
"Hello, Miss Dahlia. Everything is fine. Could you please get me painkillers? The strongest one possible. Oh and something to disinfect wounds.
-Are you hurt? What happened?
-Oh, no. It's not for me.
-Camie...
-I swear! I am completely fine. It's for one of my friends. She got badly injured because of the villain attack.
-Then she should come see me. Or a professional. Why haven't you come sooner? The attack was hours ago.
-She can't come here. I have to go to her. She didn't want to get treated."
The pharmacist sighed.
"Okay... How bad are her injuries?
-Like... Getting shot by an arrow?
-What?
-It's just a comparison! It's very similar.
-What kind of friends do you have?
-It's a long story...
-Does your friend have any allergies?
-I don't think so."
Miss Dahlia sighed again but didn't ask anymore and rushed to get something in the back room. When she came back, she put five boxes in front of Camie on the table:
"This is for the pain. She shouldn't take more than three per day and she should wait 6 hours in between. If it's not enough she should take one of these."
She showed another box and Camie was trying her best to focus.
"This one is very strong so you should be careful. No alcohol with this and no paracetamol. Never."
Camie quickly nodded.
"No paracetamol. Got it.
-This one is the disinfectant. The wound can't come into contact with water for at least three days. If it starts turning yellow she really should go to the emergency room. The best would be to go even now to make sure that she didn't fracture any bones."
Camie shook her head:
"I will tell her but I don't think she will listen. What are the two other boxes?
-This is a cream. It's very good for healing and this one is a painkiller in a cream form. It could help her with itching and she can apply it six times per day.
-Thank you so much! This is a huge help!
-Wait. She should take vitamins as well."
Miss Dahlia handed Camie three more boxes before finally looking a bit satisfied.
"Thank you for your help. How much will it be.
-Don't worry about it. Hurry to your friend.
-No. I will pay."
But Miss Dahlia was adamant:
"Go. You should be by her side. And be grateful that I didn't call an ambulance. There won't be a next time.
-Yes! Thank you so much! I promise I will pay you back.
-Go.
-Have a nice day, Miss Dahlia!"
And just like that, Camie continued her journey to Théa's house. She knew where the latter lived because of the visions, however there was still the issue of her lack of sense of direction and Camie hoped she would find the house.
She felt like the hardest part was behind her for some reason. She still had to go to Théa, explain to her how she knew where she lived, give her the medicine and explain why she was giving her medicine. But she still felt calm.
More than that. Camie was in a really good mood. She put her favorite playlist on and started walking down the street in rhythm. Determination was a really nice feeling and she even started shyly dancing. She really liked the song she was listening to and as time went by, she became bolder and bolder.
Her first shy moves turned more and more outstanding and at the end she was more dancing than walking. People started staring at her but Camie didn't care. She was having a great day and no one was going to destroy it for her. Not even Black Gold. If she got mad at her for knowing the truth then she would take it all. She would look her straight in the eyes and say:
"Yes. I know. I can't tell you how but trust me there is not an ounce of bad will in me. I would never tell others what I know and all I want is for you to be okay. Please believe me. However if you are uncomfortable with all of this, I would fully understand and would stay as far away from you as possible. I promise. Just let me help you."
Already knowing what she would say made Camie's mood even better and she couldn't wait to see Théa. She didn't have to look for her for long however because just as she was turning into a deserted path, she found herself face to face with green eyes glowing out of a mask.
"Ah!"
Camie screamed and immediately let go of her bag, scattering the boxes at her feet. Her fight or flight kicked in and she was ready to run away when she felt a gloved hand cover her mouth and her earpieces be pulled out. Now that she didn't even have her music to keep her calm anymore, Camie was on the verge of panic. But then she heard a familiar voice:
"Shh. It's me."
Camie got so surprised that she froze. Black Gold? What was she doing here? Camie was the one supposed to go to her. Not the other way around.
"I will let go of you now. Don't scream. Okay?"
Camie quickly nodded and Black Gold took a step back, letting go of Camie:
"I am sorry that I touched you. I just wanted to prevent you from screaming again. I didn't want people to notice us. And I am sorry if I scared you. I just...
-What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in bed? How's your wound? Did you treat it? And what are you doing up? You should rest."
Black Gold laughed behind the mask:
"Were you worried about me?
-Of course I was! You saved my life! I should have been the one hurt, not you."
Black Gold's eyes immediately turned cold:
"Don't say such things.
-But it's true! I jumped in there precisely so we could avoid this situation and it still happened.
-That's why you should have stayed safe.
-Should I just have stayed there knowing that you would get hurt?
-Yes!"
Camie almost screamed but she quickly forced herself to calm down, a hand on her forehead. Back Gold was a patient now and she couldn't scream at a patient. The hero on the other hand was only getting started:
"You should never have gotten involved. Look where it got you. I saw what happened with the journalists. Are you okay?
-Who cares what happened with the journalists. You got hit by an arrow!
-I care! I'm the reason you got in trouble in the first place.
-It had nothing to do with you. Those reporters were assholes.
-But you defended me in front of everyone. It meant a lot to me and I wanted to thank you.
-Is that why you're here? That's stupid. You should have stayed home.
-I'm sorry if I inconvenienced you. I just wanted to thank you in person. You have no idea how much it meant to me.
-You didn't inconvenience me at all. But I would have by far preferred you staying in bed and resting. I didn't do it to have your gratitude or anything.
-I know. And that makes it even move touching. But are you okay? I know how hurtful it is to hear people criticizing you on television.
-Who cares? Why are you the one asking me if I'm okay all the time? Should I remind you that you are the one who got hurt? Could you stop being a hero for two seconds and just let me give you this?"
Camie crouched down and picked the boxes up before stuffing them into Théa's arms. She then went on reciting exactly what the pharmacist told her, making sure that Théa would remember everything.
"Got it? This one three times a day and this one six. Don't use them more than you should. It would be worse than not using them. And if it gets worse you really should go see someone. Miss Dahlia from the pharmacy is very nice and reliable. I am sure you could go to her and she wouldn't ask any questions."
Camie waited for Théa's answer but as it wasn't coming she frowned:
"What?
-Did you buy all of this for me?
-Miss Dahlia gave it to me for free so don't be too touched. If you want to thank someone it should be her.
-I... I don't know what to say.
-Do you need help treating the wound?
-No. This is already way more than enough. I... Thank you."
Camie nodded before turning around to leave.
"Wait. How could I thank you?"
Camie shook her head:
"You don't have to do anything. You deserve way more than this."
