Chapter 14
*Victoria*
I rest my head on Aaron's shoulder as he played with my hair, our bodies tangled together on his bed. Sophie played with his phone across the room.
"So, my dad likes to make up for leaving us and not being able to keep up with his visits." Aaron said. "And even though I'm 18, he still feels guilty. So he's letting me stay at his beach house this weekend. I pretty much do whatever I want. I could throw a raging party, have my friends over, or I could take you on a getaway."
A smile instantly came to my face. He would really take me somewhere for an entire weekend, just so we can be alone?
"You'd really rather take me with you?" I looked up into his blue eyes. "You could have a party or something."
"I'd rather spend my weekend with the girl of my dreams." he placed a kiss on my forehead.
My cheeks warmed and I lowered my head so that he can't see me blush. Does he pull his comments out of a book? How does he know just what to say to me?
"Up." Sophie said, coming along side the bed and holding up her arms. I reached over and lifted her onto the bed. She climbed over me and laid in-between us. Aaron took his phone back and scrolled through it. He then let out a sigh.
"What's wrong?"
"Grace, she's on her way. And since she sent this message about 15 minutes ago, she should be here any minute."
I haven't actually come face to face with Grace since I found out that she's Sophie's mother. I hope to get along with her and become friends for Sophie's sake. I don't want to make an enemy out of her. I don't hate her, nor am I threatened by her. But that doesn't mean she feels the same way about me.
The doorbell rang and we both got up. Aaron went ahead to answer the door while I walked with Sophie. She held my hand as we made our way down the stairs.
"You can't just come over whenever you want." Aaron said in a low voice.
"Well I wouldn't have to if you'd answer my texts, or calls, or actually let me come over again."
Grace looked at us and a sort of frown appeared. She looked at Sophie's hand wrapped in mine.
"Hi Grace." I said with a small smile.
"Victoria, right?"
"Yeah. We chatted once a few weeks ago, remember?"
"Of course." she smiled. She knelt down to Sophie's height and reached out for Sophie's hand. Sophie moved away and clung to my leg. "It's okay. I'm your...."
"Stop." Aaron cut her off. "She doesn't need to know that right now."
"Why, so that she doesn't know the truth?" Grace snapped.
As I saw that his conversation was getting heated, I lead Sophie away to the kitchen. It's obvious that Grace isn't happy about me spending so much time with Sophie. But Aaron is my boyfriend and I love both him and Sophie. I'm not going to stay away for her benefit.
*Aaron*
I'm glad that Grace wants to be involved in Sophie's life. But that doesn't mean I forgot about the three years she abandoned Sophie.
"She should know that I'm her mother."
"She will, when it's time. How do I know you're going to stick around? I don't want her to get attached and then you leave her."
"I'm not going anywhere. I wish you'd understand that. Maybe if you told her who I really am, she'd actually like me a little bit."
"Or maybe she wouldn't understand."
"Well there's only one way to find out."
This time I'm spending to argue with her, is time I could be spending with Victoria.
"Look," I started. "as you can see, I'm spending the day with my girlfriend. Can we reschedule?"
"You realize that I go to an all girls boarding school, correct? It's not exactly around the corner and we have a curfew. Some days I have night classes."
"Yet you're always calling or texting so you can come see her. It seems to me that you have plenty of time. And I have a schedule too, you know. I can't just drop everything so that you can see the daughter that you abandoned."
This is the first argument that we've had. Obviously someone has to give here. We could somehow make our busy schedules work so that she can visit Sophie, or we could take this to court and have them figure it out for us.
"Fine." she sighed. "I'll text you later. Maybe we could hang out and do something together."
"Yeah, sure."
I opened the front door and held it open for her as she left. Once I saw that she was gone, I shut the door and went to join Victoria and Sophie in the kitchen. They were sitting at the dining room table. Victoria was helping Sophie to draw a picture.
"Hi." Victoria said as I joined them at the table.
"I'm so sorry about that." I apologized. "Grace can be pushy."
"It's no problem." Victoria shook her head. "You and Grace have a daughter together, of course there's going to be a little drama. It's expected and I'm perfectly okay with it."
I love that she's so understanding. She accepts my baby mama drama and doesn't want to end things because of it. Most people her age, and even adults, don't want to put of with that type of drama.
"I love you." I said, causing a smile to form on her face.
"I love you more." she responded.
"Impossible." I smiled, leaning in to give her a kiss.

I leaned against Caleb's locker as I begged him to baby-sit for me this weekend. He's the only person left to baby-sit.
"It's only for two days." I explained "You're her uncle Caleb. She adores you."
"I'm hanging out with some of the guys from the team this weekend, and I have a party to go to. I didn't have a kid in high school, you did. I'm not putting my life on hold, no matter how much I love that kid."
"Fine." I sighed. "Then who can I get to baby-sit?"
"Why can't your neighbor do it?"
"Her parents don't allow overnight babysitting."
A hand was placed in mine and I looked to see Victoria with a smile on her face. I wrapped my hand around hers and gave her a kiss.
"What are you two talking about?" she asked.
"Your boyfriend is trying to talk me into babysitting Sophie for the weekend. But he forgot that I have a life."
"You can bring Sophie if you want."
Yeah I could bring Sophie. But that would take away from our time alone with each other.
"I want this weekend to just be for the two of us."
"Then what are you going to do about Sophie?"
"I don't know, but I'll figure it out."
*Victoria*
I stared at the clothes in my drawer. What do I pack? I don't want to be too revealing, but also not revealing enough. I'm not planning on going all the way this weekend, but that doesn't mean I can't look somewhat attractive.
"Pack at least one swimsuit because you never know when it could be a nice sunny day." my mom said, coming into my room. "And pack some warm clothes as well as spring clothes. The weather could always change."
"Thanks mom." I smiled.
"Well I am an expert on clothes."
"Yeah, but also thank you for letting me go on this trip, and for babysitting Sophie."
"See this as part of your senior trip."
I swear I have the best mom in the world. Most parents wouldn't dare think of letting their kids spend a weekend with their boyfriend/girlfriend, without supervision. I'm lucky my mom trusts me not to do anything I'd regret.
I packed my bag like my mother suggested and waited for Aaron to pick me up. I packed a few light snacks for the road since it's a couple of hours away. When the door rang, I answered it. Aaron stood holding Sophie's hand and a medium sized diaper bag.
"Vicky!" Sophie exclaimed, rushing in and hugging my leg.
"Hi sweetie." I greeted her. Aaron came inside and shut the door behind him.
"Hi Aaron." my mom greeted. She looked down at Sophie who still clung to my leg. "Awe, what a beautiful little girl. It's amazing how she looks just like you."
"Yeah, everyone says that." Aaron smiled. "So, all of her clothes are in the diaper bag, plus some extra. I put in a few of her favorite snacks, a couple of her favorite toys, a few books, and if you need anything my number is in there." he handed my mom the diaper bag.
I smiled at how anxious he's getting. It's obvious that he's nervous about leaving Sophie here alone. It's cute.
"Aaron, she knows how to take care of a toddler, okay?" I said. Trying to calm him. "I'm sure she'll be okay." Aaron nodded and knelt down to Sophie's level.
"Sophie, daddy has to go now okay? You're going to stay here with Ms. Daniels for a couple of days and then I'll be back to get you."
"No." Sophie whined.
"Hey, none of that." Aaron scolded her. "I'll be back before you know it."
He gave her a hug and a kiss before we left. We climbed in his car and he took off.
"So how long is the drive?" I asked.
"Only about two hours, but that's two hours we can sit back and talk before we get the weekend started."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means that we won't be using our mouths for talking for the next couple of days."
My cheeks warmed. He's already planned this weekend out for us, and although we've made out a thousand times, the thought still makes me nervous.
"You said this is your dad's beach house." I said, trying to make conversation. "He lives there?"
"No." Aaron scoffed. "He's a business man. He likes to buy things to show how much money he has. The beach house happens to be one of those things. You'd think he'd be able to spare a dollar to help us get out of debt."
His expression turned slightly angry. I'm guessing he's not very close to his father. He doesn't talk about him much. All I know is that his parents are divorced. My parents are divorced, but I still talk to my dad. We're not extremely close, but I know that I can talk to him whenever I need to. I wish Aaron had that too.
"What happened between your parents? If you don't mind me asking."
"He cheated with his secretary. Cliché, I know." he let out a humorless laugh. "It's always the young, hot secretary that steels them away. And then they never stick together. My dad still hasn't been able to have a stable relationship, even after all of these years. The guy is scum. But who am I to judge? I was just like him."
"Well it sounds to me like you're nothing like him. You're not a cheater, or an abandoner. You're there for the ones you love. And that's one of the many things I love about you."
He looked at me and gave a small smile. I hope he never thinks of himself that way again. He needs to know that he's more than that.
*Aaron*
I finally pulled into the driveway of the beach house. All of that stupid traffic and detours gave us an hour and a half delay. We would have been here, eaten dinner, and been getting ready for bed. Now I can barely stay awake and Victoria is asleep. I reached over and gave her a light shake. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around.
"We're here?" she asked.
"Yeah, let's go inside and go to bed."
We climbed out of the car and made our way to the front door. I grabbed the key from beneath the flower pot outside and opened the door. I switched on the light and sighed at the familiar sight.
The large living room, attached to a large open kitchen. The connecting hallway leading to a game room and bathroom. The back wall entirely made of windows, allowing an open look to the beach.
"It's beautiful." Victoria said. "I can only imagine what it looks like in the day time."
"How about we go to sleep and find out in the morning? I'm beat."
Victoria followed me upstairs and into the master bedroom. I smiled at the inviting bed as I slipped off my shirt.
"Um, which is my room?" Victoria asked in a small voice.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, giving her a confused look.
"Where do I sleep? Is it the room across the hall?"
"No, we're sharing the bed."
Shock and a small amount of fear crossed her face. I smiled at how cute she is. I can't believe she didn't expect this.
"Relax, we're not going to do anything but sleep. I promise."
"Okay, but can I at least change in the bathroom?"
"What if I say no?"
"I'd say you're a jerk." she smirked before grabbing her bag and heading into the attached bathroom.
I stripped down to my underwear before slipping on a pair of sweats. She probably wouldn't like it if I slept in just my underwear like I usually do. No need to make her feel even more uncomfortable than she already is. By the time she came from the bathroom wearing pajama shorts and a t-shirt, I was already in bed. She slowly made her way over and climbed in beside me.
"You make it seem like I bite." I said. "
"I've just never done this before."
She turned her back to me and laid her head on her pillow. I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her close.
"Goodnight." I whispered.
*Victoria*
I woke to the sun streaming in on me. I looked outside the windows covering the entire wall on my side of the bed, and smiled at the ocean brushing against the yellow sand.
Aaron's arm tightened around me and turned gently to face him. He was still asleep, his black hair messy and in his face. He really had a long night with driving. I tried to stay up as long as I could to keep him company, but I couldn't fight sleep anymore. I gently brushed his hair out of his face and placed kiss on his forehead.
I slowly slipped from beneath his arm and headed downstairs. The sun streamed in, filling the entire floor with light. I walked into the kitchen and looked through the fridge. Surprisingly it's fully stocked. I pulled out some bacon and eggs and began to cook. Once the eggs and bacon were done, I made some pancakes.
"It smells good." Aaron said as he came down the stairs.
"Good, because I need help eating it all." I responded.
After we ate, we changed into our swim suits and headed out to the beach. Aaron draped his arm across my shoulders as we walked through the sand.
"Thank you for bringing me here this weekend." I said. "You could have had a raging party instead." I smiled.
"Oh yeah. I could have avoided seeing my hot girlfriend in her bikini and making out with her all night tonight." he said sarcastically, placing a kiss on my cheek.
We laid on the beach and talked for a while before playing in the water a little. Aaron splashed me then made it seem like he didn't do it. I splashed him back with extra force, making the splash bigger.
"What was that for?" he asked.
"Like you don't know." I smiled.
"I don't know." he shrugged. "Maybe my arm twitched and this happened?"
He began to splash water at me constantly, not giving me a chance to strike back. Suddenly his arm slipped around my waist and I was pulled to him. Our noses brushed as he stared into my eyes. I closed the space between us and met my lips with his. He immediately kissed me back, instantly deepening the kiss. He placed his hand on my cheek as I tangled my fingers into his wet hair. We tried to get even closer to each other, but it's physically impossible since we'd nearly mold into one person.
We separated as soon a we were suddenly splashed. We looked to see a little boy who looked about eight. He wore a disgusted look on his face.
"Gross, stop it." he said before swimming away.
"Come on." Aaron sighed. "Let's go in and get cleaned up. I'm beginning to feel wrinkly."
"Okay." I nodded.
***
Aaron pushed me back on the couch, never breaking the kiss. My hands slipped beneath his shirt and ran across his perfect abs, feeling each and every curve. One of his hands caressed my cheek while the other moved along my thigh, beginning to go a little higher than I feel comfortable.
The doorbell rang and we both unwillingly separated. Who could be at the door? We didn't order takeout.
"I'll get it." Aaron sighed, standing up and walking to the door. He opened it and a chorus of voices sounded.
"Caleb told us the news." I heard Connor say. "Beach house to yourself for the weekend? It's party time!"

This did not end as smoothly as I'd planned, but it's after twelve and I have work in the morning. Tell me what you think so far and prepare for some drama in the next chapter.
