Chapter 5

*Victoria*

The clothes we found in the lost in found weren’t that great. I ended up calling my mom to bring me clothes. Although class had started while I was still waiting, Aaron stayed and waited with me.

“You’re going to get in trouble.” I told him. “You should go to class.”

“No, I want to wait with you. After all, this is my fault.”

“You didn’t pour coffee on me.”

“No, but I provoked Fawn. I told her to leave you alone and that I would never have been interested in her. Fawn hates rejection. In her mind she’s the perfect being. I promised you I’d make her leave you alone, but I guess that was stupid.”

“At least you tried. That’s all that matters.”

My mom walked into the office with a bag in her hands. When she looked at me she sighed.

“Who did this to you?” she asked me.

“No one important.” I answered.

“Luckily I brought hair and makeup supplies too. Come one. Let’s get you all dolled up again.”

I followed my mom into the nearest bathroom and she rinsed my hair out in the sink. After drying my hair, I dressed in the clothes she brought. I slipped on a high waist black skirt that stopped at my mid thigh and a quarter sleeve burgundy crop top that clung to my body, meeting the top of the skirt. I slipped on the black lace up ankle boot heels she brought. I combed through my hair while she did my makeup.

After she was finished, I looked myself over in the bathroom mirror. When I thought I looked fine, I thanked my mom and gave her a hug.

“Now get to class.” she said before leaving.

I went to the office and found Aaron still waiting there for me. He looked up at me and his mouth dropped.

“What?” I asked him, looking down at my clothes. I thought I looked okay.

“I thought you looked hot before, but this outfit just changed my mind.” I smiled and felt the blush come to my cheeks. “Let’s get class.”

After school I met Aaron by the exit. He wants to start our date tonight as soon as school is over. I saw him walking towards me while talking to a friend. When he reached me, he took my hand in his.

“Hi.” his friend said to me. “I’m Caleb, this guy’s best friend.”

“I’m Victoria.”

“Make sure he takes you on a good date. Sometimes he can get lazy.”

“I’m not going to football practice, but you are. Don’t be late.’

“Yeah, yeah, I’m going.”

Caleb turned and walked back down the hall. Aaron lead me out to the parking lot and to his car. He opened the passenger door for me and I climbed in.

“Where are we going?” I asked once he was in the car.

“It’s a surprise.”

“A surprise? Are we going somewhere special?”

“Just wait and see.”

After a while we pulled up at a park. A fair was set up. There were rides and carnival games set up.

“I didn’t hear about this.” I said. “How long has this been here for?”

“About two days. Let’s go.”

Aaron held my hand as we walked over to the carnival. The first thing he lead me to was a rollercoaster. I was about to tell him I don’t like roller coasters, but before I could we were being seated inside the coaster. The coaster began and I grabbed onto Aaron’s shirt.

“What’s wrong?” he asked as the coaster took us higher to the drop.

“I hate roller coasters.” I told him.

“Why didn’t you say that before we got on.”

“There was no time.”

We got to the top and there was a short pause before we dropped. I closed my eyes and held on to Aaron’s shirt tighter as I let out a scream. My stomach got that strange feeling that I hate.

*Aaron*

I looked at Victoria’s terrified face as she gripped on to my shirt. I’ve never dated a girl who doesn’t like roller coasters so I didn’t think to ask her. I wrapped my arm around her and held her until the ride ended.

We got off the coaster and walked over to a nearby bench. She sat down and rest her head in her hands.

“I’m really sorry.” I apologized to her. “I should have asked you if you liked roller coasters.”

“It’s fine, just let me calm down a little.”

I feel so bad now. Our date just started and already I’ve screwed it up. Things were going so good between us and now I wouldn’t be surprised if she was pissed at me.

“Okay, I’m fine now.” she said, standing up.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I just hate the speed and I get a little sick. But I’m fine now. Let’s go.”

She took my hand and lead me towards one of the carnival games. We started with a simple ring toss that we both sucked at. I swear that game is impossible.

“Look at that!” Victoria exclaimed, pointing to a giant fluffy stuffed dog. “I have to have it. Let’s play this game.”

She pulled me over to the booth and I saw the game was a ball toss where you had to knock down the stacked cups. I paid the man working the booth and he gave us each our own set of balls to throw.

By the time Victoria was finished, she had only managed to knock down half of stack. Luckily I knocked them all down before getting to the last ball. I pointed to the stuffed dog she wanted and the man working the booth handed it to me.

“Here.” I said to Victoria, handing the dog to her.

“Thank you.” she smiled as she hugged the dog to her chest.

“It’s the least I could do.”

“I’m not mad about the roller coaster. You know that right? You didn’t know.”

“I still feel bad.”

“Well don’t. You won me this dog.”

I smiled and took her hand in mine. I lead her to the next ride which were the teacups. Girls usually like this ride, at least Sophie does. And it’s a lot less scary than a roller coaster.

“I love the teacups.” Victoria said with a smile.

“Good. I’m glad I picked something right tonight.”

Soon it was night time and everything at the carnival was lit up. I pointed to the Ferris wheel and asked if she wanted to go on it.

“You’re not afraid of heights are you?”

“Only a little, but the Ferris wheel should be fun.”

We stood in line for a little bit until we finally got on. The Ferris wheel took us to the top and then we stopped. I watched Victoria as she looked at the lit carnival below us. She wore a huge smile on her face as she hugged the fluffy dog I won her close to her chest. Her long curly brown hair blew slightly in the breeze. I could see the happiness in her eyes and I smiled knowing that she was having a good time out with me.

“Do you know how beautiful you are?” I asked her.

She looked at me as though she couldn’t believe what I had just said so I repeated myself.

“Do you know how beautiful you are?”

“I don‘t know what you‘re talking about.” she said, looking at the ground and tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

“How can someone with a body, face, and personality like yours not think they’re beautiful on the inside and out?”

“You’re just saying that.” she shook her head.

“I really do mean it. You’re stunning and it bothers me that you don’t think so.”

Her cheeks turned a light shade of pink as she played with her hair. I took her hand and moved closer to her. I intertwined our fingers.

“You have beautiful hazel eyes.” I looked down at her lips. “Beautiful curly hair.” I leaned in closer. “And the most perfect lips.” I leaned in until our lips were almost brushing together. “And who wouldn’t notice your perfect curves?”

Before I could, Victoria met her lips with mine. Her lips are so soft. Her lips moved perfectly in sync with mine. I skimmed her bottom lip with my tongue, asking for entrance. She hesitated for a moment before granting me access. She tastes even better than I expected she would. Something else to add on to her list of perfect things.

I placed my hands on her waist and deepened the kiss. She wrapped her arms around my neck. I felt the Ferris wheel begin to move again, but I didn’t want to end the kiss yet. If it was possible I’d kiss her all day. She tastes good, her lips are soft, and I’ve been waiting to do this.

The Ferris wheel took us around again and when we stopped at the top once more, I finally pulled away from her. I looked into her hazel eyes which were filled with lust.

“Was that as good for you as it was for me?” I asked her.

“Maybe even better.” she said.

The Ferris wheel brought us back to the bottom and we got off. I took Victoria’s hand in mine.

“I’m hungry, what about you?” I asked her. She nodded.

We stopped by one of the concession stands to get our food. We then found a bench to sit on.

“Thanks for taking me out tonight.” Victoria said. “I’m having a lot of fun so far.”

“Even after the roller coaster incident?”

“Yes, even after the roller coaster incident. Which I don’t blame you for.”

“That’s only because you’re a sweetheart.”

Someone pushed me slightly from behind and I turned to see Caleb with a drink in his hand.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” I asked him.

“I came with the guys. And just so you’re prepared, the girls are on their way here.”

“Great.” I sighed. “That’s the last thing I need.”

“Hi Victoria, are you having fun?” Caleb asked her.

“I am.” Victoria answered with a smile. “He’s being a real sweetheart.”

“Good. Let me know when he screws up. I’ll put him back in his place.”

“Will do.” she laughed.

*Victoria*

I like Caleb, he’s funny and he seems like a good friend to Aaron. But I don’t see them hang out much. I wonder why that is.

“I’ll see you guys later.” Caleb said before leaving. We both said goodbye to him as he left.

“How long have you two been friends?” I asked Aaron.

“Since 2nd grade. He’s like a brother to me.”

“That’s sweet. I had a friend like that once, but she moved when I was little and it was hard to keep in touch.”

“I’m sorry. You know, there’s still time to make a friend like that.”

“Maybe, but I think I’ll wait until college. Those friends seem to stick around longer that high school friends.”

After riding a couple more rides and playing a few more games, Aaron decided it was getting late and it was time for us to head home. Although the date started off a little bumping, I had a great time out with Aaron and I can’t wait for the next time we go on a date or get to hang out.

“Aaron!” a familiar voice called from behind us. We both turned to see Fawn with two of her friends flanked behind her. I checked her hands to make sure she wasn’t carrying any drinks. Luckily she wasn’t.

“Hi Fawn.” Aaron greeted her with a sigh.

I could tell Aaron didn’t want to be mean and tell Fawn to go away. Instead he was trying to be as nice as possible.

“I see you’re still taking out the trash.” Fawn said, looking at me and glaring. “I thought you would have moved on by now.”

“Fawn, can we not start this right now? I just had an amazing night and I don’t need you to ruin it.”

“Ruin it? Once I’ve arrived, everything gets better. Everyone knows that.”

“Whatever, we have to go.”

Aaron took my hand tightly in his and pulled me away towards his car. Once there, he opened the passenger side door for me and I climbed in. After, he closed the door and walked around to climb into the drivers seat.

“I swear she’s stalking me.” Aaron said as he started the car. “Lately it’s been more difficult to get away from her. You’re my girlfriend and I want to spend my time with you, not someone who can’t get over their crush.”

“She’ll leave us alone eventually. She’ll get bored with us and move on.”

“That’s what I was hoping but it seems like it’s turned into an obsession with her.”

Aaron drove back to the school so I could get my car. He pulled right beside my car and put the car in park.

“Even though the date started off a little rocky,” I started. “I still had a great time tonight.”

“Let me know when we can hang out again.”

“I have your number.” I smiled.

He leaned in and met his lips with mine. I instantly remembered back to our first kiss on the Ferris wheel. It was like a dream. I’ve never kissed someone who tastes that good or has lips that soft. And the way our lips moved in sync was magical.

This time is almost as good. He tastes so good that it’s almost hypnotizing. I can’t believe I waited this long. I was missing out.

Aaron pulled away and I internally frowned. Why did he have to do that? We could’ve gone on for much longer.

“As much as I hate to end this date, it’s getting late and we have school tomorrow. I’d hate to cut into your beauty sleep.”

“How sweet of you.” I said sarcastically with a smile. “Goodnight. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I gave Aaron one last quick kiss before climbing out of his car and hopping into my own. Aaron waved goodbye before he drove off.

I drove home with a smile on my face. So far there hasn’t been a single bad date with Aaron. He’s always entertaining, I’m never bored when I’m around him. He’s also one of the sweetest people I know.

And even when I’m sure he has other things to do, he’s always willing to work around my busy schedule just to spend time with me. He’s the most popular guy in school, and captain of the football and basketball team, yet he drops all that just to be with me.

I’ve never felt this strongly about a guy, especially one I’ve only known for a short time. Every little thing he does makes me fall for him. Every word that comes out of his mouth has me wrapped more and more around his finger. I’m falling for Aaron hard and to be honest, it’s scary.

I don’t want us to move too fast. I don’t want us to get ahead of ourselves. But the way I feel about him makes want to be around him any time I can. I want to know everything about him. I want to know what his flaws are, if there are any.

I’ve always been focused on work and my studies that I’ve never imagined myself finding someone like Aaron that I care about so much. Aaron came out of nowhere and I’m glad he did. I’m falling for him hard and something tells me that before I know it, I’ll be in love.”
