Chapter 6
*Aaron*
I felt someone poking my face and woke up to see Sophia's big green eyes looking into mine. I smiled and reached out to pick her up. I tossed her in the air and she laughed. I then placed her on the bed and lifted her shirt to blow raspberries on her stomach. She laughed harder and squirmed beneath me.
"Daddy, stop." she said through her laughs.
I stopped and placed a kiss on her forehead. She placed her small hands on either side of my face and looked into my eyes.
"I love you." I told her.
"I love you too." she said with a smile.
"Let's go get breakfast."
"Yay!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands against my cheeks.
I stood up and picked her up off the bed. I straddled her on my hip and carried her downstairs. It was quiet, telling me my mom is still asleep. I placed Sophie in a chair then fixed something for breakfast.
"Daddy, can we go to park?" Sophie asked me, kicking her legs back and forth over the edge of the chair.
"Sure sweetie, but let's eat first."
I fixed Sophie's breakfast first, scrambled eggs, one piece of bacon, and apple juice in a sippy-cup. I made myself a plate too and sat beside Sophie at the table.
After we ate breakfast, I lead Sophie upstairs so we could get dressed. I dressed Sophie first. I dressed her in a pink dress and black leggings. I tickled her foot before slipped the black flat onto her foot. I asked Sophie to stay in her room while I got ready and she agreed.
While taking my shower, I thought of Victoria. We've already been dating for a week and a half and tonight I agreed to meet her mother, properly. I know she'll want to come over to meet my mom, but I'm not ready to reveal that I have a daughter. I know I can only keep Victoria in the dark for only a little longer, but I'm still not prepared for what she'll say or think.
I climbed out of the shower and dried off. I dressed in dark jeans and a grey t-shirt. I slipped on a black beanie and went to get Sophia. She stayed in her room like I asked and she played with her dolls.
"Are you ready to go to the park?" I asked her. She jumped up and down with a smile on her face. "Good, let's go."
I held Sophie's hand as we walked to the park down the street. Once there, Sophie ran off to play. I sat on a nearby bench to keep an eye on her. Hopefully this will tire her out so that she'll be napping when I leave for dinner tonight. I don't want to be late and make a bad impression.
*Victoria*
I woke and a smile immediately formed on my face when I thought about Aaron coming over for dinner tonight. He's finally going to meet my mom and she'll understand why I like him so much.
I can't believe we've already been dating for a week and half. With no surprise, I still fall for Aaron a little more everyday. I know it's too soon to say that I love him, but I really do think it's true. I don't want to scare him off so I'll keep my feelings to myself until the right time comes.
I showered and dressed in sweats and a t-shirt. I'll wear comfy clothes until it's almost time for dinner, then I'll change into something decent. I braided my curly hair and let the braid lay over my shoulder. I ran downstairs to grab breakfast. I found my mom sitting at the table drawing in her sketch book.
"Hey mom." I greeted her. She looked up at me briefly and flashed me a smile. "Are we still on for dinner tonight?"
"Of course." she answered, not looking up from her sketch. "I'm dying to meet the boy who's stolen my daughter's heart."
"You're going to love him. He's so sweet and caring. And his eyes, you could get lost in them forever. And his smile instantly creates butterflies in your stomach it's so dazzling. And his hair is so soft and silky that you could run your fingers through it all day. And his lips are so soft that you never want to stop kissing him."
"Well, I don't think I'll be doing any of that." my mom said with a small giggle. "But I'm glad you like him so much."
"I more than just like him."
"But you've been dating for only a week and a half."
"Yeah, but you don't know him like I do. He's amazing."

I dressed in knee length royal blue dress and black ankle wedges. I combed through my hair and let it hang over my shoulders. I applied a little makeup then went downstairs to wait for Aaron. I excitedly helped my mom make dinner.
"You're really excited for this." my mom said.
"This means we're really taking our relationship seriously. We already consider ourselves boyfriend and girlfriend, but this means we're allowing ourselves to get closer."
The doorbell rang and I quickly ran to answer the door. Aaron stood on my doorstep wearing dark jeans, a blue button up and a black beanie. He gave me a small smile.
"Hey." he greeted me.
"Hi." I responded, taking his hand and pulling him inside. He stood in my living room with his hands in his pockets and he shifted back and forth. "Are you nervous?" I asked him.
"Can you tell?" he gave me a worried look.
"Only a little. But you shouldn't be nervous. Just be yourself."
"I don't usually get this far in a relationship. I don't know what to do, or not do. And what if I say the wrong thing and your mom gets mad at me."
"She's going to love you, just don't panic."
"That's easy for you to say."
He's so cute when he's nervous. Usually he's all cocky and flirty around me. I would never think that Aaron Evans gets nervous.
"Dinner is ready." my mom called from the kitchen.
"Let's go." I said, taking Aaron's hand and leading him into the kitchen.
We entered the kitchen and I saw that the table was already set. Aaron squeezed my hand a little tighter as we stopped in front of my mom.
"Mom, this is my boyfriend Aaron." I introduced. "Aaron, this is my mom."
"It's nice to meet you." Aaron said, reaching out to shake my mom's hand.
"Same." my mom said shaking his hand. "Come on, let's eat."
Aaron and I sat on one side of the table and my mom sat on the other. I can still tell that Aaron is nervous, but he seems to be calmer now that he's actually spoken to my mom.
"So Aaron," my mom started. "are you in any clubs at school?"
"I play sports." he answered a little nervously. "I'm captain of the football and basketball teams."
"Captain huh? That's a big deal? Are you any good?"
"We're the school to beat in the state championships."
"You must be a very good captain."
"Some of my teammates call me strict, but I just want them to be the best they can be."
Aaron cracked and smile and I did the same. He's started to feel more comfortable, as he should.
"Vicky isn't really into sports so how did the two of you meet?"
I let out a small laugh. "It wasn't exactly meeting." I said. "It was more like bumping into."
"We ran into each other in the hall." Aaron said. "After the third time in a row I asked her out."
"And I said yes."
We didn't meet like most couples would have, but I'm glad we met the way we did. It was like fate.
"Interesting." my mom said. "What do you plan on doing after high school?"
"Well since it's my senior year I was hoping to be picked up by a scout in football. I'd like to go pro."
"Well that's something to shoot for. What if that doesn't happen?"
"I guess I'll go to college and get a bachelors degree until I figure out what I want to do. Right now, while I still have a chance, I'm looking towards going pro in football."
I never knew he wants to be a professional football player. I've never seen him play, but I've heard that he's really good. And he has the body for football. I have no doubt he'll go pro someday.
*Aaron*
I know that my goal of going pro will be harder to reach now that I have Sophie, but that doesn't make it impossible.
"Is your mom a proud supporter of your choice?" Mrs. Daniels asked me.
"Not exactly." I answered. "She thinks I should go to college and get an education in something that can take me far in life."
My mom sees my goal of going pro as impossible. Now that I have Sophie she wants me to shoot for something that can be guaranteed.
"I'm sorry to hear that. Just know that you have my support." Mrs. Daniels grinned.
"And mine." Victoria said, leaning over and placing a kiss on my cheek.
"Thanks. I appreciate it."

After dinner, Victoria lead my upstairs to her room. The walls were white and two adjacent walls were covered with posters. She had a queen sized bed with purple sheets. The floor is hardwood with a medium sized fuzzy rug placed in the center of the floor. A couple of trophies and two framed pictures sat on her white dresser.
"Sit." she said, patting the bed beside her where she now sits.
I walked over to her and sat on the bed beside her. I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her close. She rest her head on my shoulder.
"I still have to meet your mom." she said.
"Yeah, I know."
"When I can I?"
I sighed. The day she meets my mom will most likely be the day she'll meet Sophie. For me they're a package deal.
"I'm not sure." I answered.
"Why not?" she lifted her head and looked at me. "Do you not want me to meet her?"
"Of course I do. It's just going to take some time. It'll happen soon. Just bear with me."
I keep telling myself that she'll meet Sophie sooner or later, but I'm still hoping it'll be on my own terms.
"We don't have school tomorrow." she said. "Do you want to hang out?"
"Actually, I have a game. Supposedly there may be a scout there. I can't miss it."
"Then I'll go too."
I smiled. "Really? You'd sit through a boring football game for me?"
"It's not boring. It's can get interesting sometimes. And of course I'd go. I want to support you in any way I can. Besides, I've heard rumors that you're really good."
"I may have a skill or two in football." I said smugly.
She laughed then gave me a light kiss. Just knowing that Victoria is coming to the game makes me feel even more pumped for the game. Any girl who can support a sport that I play, even if she doesn't like it, is a keeper.
***
I woke up at 6:00 am and got ready for the game. I threw on a pair of grey sweats and a wife beater shirt. I slipped on a snapback and went to check on Sophie. I opened her door quietly and peaked inside. She laid on her back fast asleep with the blanket half on the floor. I quietly went in and placed the blanket over her. I placed a light kiss on her cheek before leaving her room and shutting the door.
I made breakfast for myself quickly so that I wouldn't be playing the game with an empty stomach. Coach would kill me for that.
After I ate my breakfast I grabbed duffel bag and headed out the door. When I got to school, the parking lot was already beginning to get packed. The game doesn't start until 2 hours from now. We still have to warm up and change.
As I walked to the locker room, someone tapped me from behind. I turned to see Victoria with a smile on her face. She wore jeans with black tank top and a pair of black studded ankle boots. Her hair was up in a ponytail and sunglasses rested on top of her head.
"Hey." she greeted me. "You look comfy.
"The less you have on, the easier it is to change." I responded before leaning down and giving her a kiss. "I have something for you."
"Really? What is it?"
I opened my duffle bag and searched for my jersey. When I reached it, I pulled it out and handed it to her. She took it and me a strange look.
"Um, I think you need this for the game." she said.
"No, this is my other jersey, the one for away games. I'd like it if my girlfriend was wearing my jersey and number."
"Okay then." she smiled, slipping it over her head. It was long on her, reaching her mid thigh. She tucked it into her jeans then twirled.
"Perfect." I said with a smile. "I have to get changed. I'll see you after the game." I gave her a quick kiss before heading to the locker room.
*Victoria*
Aaron left and I made my way back outside to the field. The bleachers on both sides were filling up. I was able to find a seat right in the first row. I quickly sat down to claim it. A few other people that go to our school sat beside me.
"That's Aaron Evans's number." a girl said from beside me.
I looked at her. She had shoulder length dark red hair and green almond shaped eyes. She looked at me with a shocked look.
"Yeah it is." I said.
"How did you get that jersey?"
"Aaron gave it to me. He's my boyfriend and wanted me to wear his number."
"You're his girlfriend? I didn't know he was dating anyone."
"Yeah, me." I gave an awkward smile.
"You're so lucky. Do you know how many girls would kill to have that jersey?"
"I have a pretty good idea."
The game soon started and the players were in their positions. Aaron shouted out something in football language. The players on the field scattered and Aaron threw the ball across the field.
As the game went on, I cheered at times our team got touchdowns. Luckily I understand this game enough to know what's going on. When halftime came, Aaron left the field for the first time. He pulled off his helmet and his hair was drenched with sweat. He looked at me and smiled, melting me at the spot.
Caleb came up beside him and said something in his ear. He then looked up at me and gave me a wave and smile. I waved back. The players retreated back into the locker rooms while the cheerleaders did their halftime routine.
I stood up and decided to walk around to stretch my legs. I walked around the school keeping an eye on the time. As I walked through the halls, I heard Aaron's voice close by. I followed it and found him talking to an older woman with a little girl by her side.
Aaron picked the little girl up and placed a kiss on her cheek. I smiled. Is that his mother and little sister? He tossed the little girl in the air and she let out a loud laugh. He's such a sweet big brother. I enjoy seeing guys with children. I think it's the cutest thing ever. Especially since I want to have kids of my own someday.
"I have to get back to the game." he said. "I'll see you when I get home. I love you."
"Love you too." the little girl said in a sweet voice. She gave him a kiss before he put her down.
Aaron walked into the locker room and his mother and sister left. His family seems sweet. I can't wait for the time I can finally meet them.

There's the chapter! What did you think? I'm going to be jumping ahead sometimes, just to move it along a little, but I won't do it too many times. But anyway, tell me what you thought. It wasn't too entertaining, but hopefully the next chapter will be better. Oh and I need ideas for the cast list.
