A thousand thoughts were racing through Alberto's head at once. He was preparing everything he was going to say to Luca as he walked the streets of Portorosso from the water to his house. Alberto stumbled in the door, full of excitement and made his way up to the kitchen. His eyes fell upon Luca and Giulia hugging.
And there he was, back in the yellow blush water staring straight at Luca as a harpoon grazed his arm and an orange sunset glowed phosphorescent around him.
"SEA MONSTER!" Luca screamed as he pointed to Alberto and flashed him a look of terror to add to the show. Giulia backed away behind Luca. Her demeanor completely changed, it was like their friendship meant nothing. Nothing. He meant nothing to Luca. He meant nothing to Giulia. He meant nothing to anybody. Who was he kidding, of course his dad left him. Alberto was nothing and the look on Luca's face just proved it further.
The harpoon might aswell have stabbed him in the heart a thousand times because this hurt more, it hurt more to feel like nothing.
Alberto forced himself to come out of the memory. Ever since that night, Alberto had never wanted to experience that same level of emotional pain. And so far, he was able to steer clear of that horrific feeling, the feeling of feeling like nothing, until here. Until now, standing in the hall way watching Giulia and Luca hug. He was such an idoit. Luca would never love him and he needed to get over that. They were nothing.
Alberto quietly slipped upstairs, letting the duo have their moment.
There isn't a better duo anyways. He thought with a somber smile.
