Luca heard the door creak open as his head was buried in the crook of Guilia's neck and he breathed in the scent of her lively citrus perfume that was so familiar to him, but it didn't beat Alberto's smell. Alberto's smell was home to Luca. He always smelled of musk, sweat, and a pinch of salty ocean water, probably from working out in the sea with Massimo majority of his time. Alberto's hugs were also wayyyy better than Guilia's. His arms were so strong. When they were around Luca, he couldn't help but feel so small. He felt like nothing in the world could harm him when Alberto was holding him. Alberto was Luca's home. Alberto was Luca's everything.
"Luca are you pretending I'm Alberto right now?" Guilia asked.
Merda, she's good. Luca thought.
"Huh?! What, no way." Luca tried to casually laugh it off.
"Yeah okay, pal."
Luca opened his eyes to see Alberto looking straight at Guilia while they were still in ther embrace.
Mio Dio, Alberto probably still thought that he had a crush on Guilia. Alberto flashed him an expression of anguish and defeat.
Alberto quickly looked away from Luca. He down the hall way. Echos of his bedroom door slamming rung throughout the house. Luca felt a pang in his heart. He needed to fix things once and for all. He sighed a sigh of hopelessness. Luca felt like no matter how hard he tried, he just kept messing things up.
"Guilia, what do I do now? Now Alberto probably thinks that I don't love him." Luca sighed.
"Luca, you need to tell Alberto the truth." She looked stern. "You two can't keep going in circles, it's insane."
"I know, but I don't know how Guils, there's so much I want to say to him. How do you tell someone that their your everything?"
"Speak from the heart Luca. You just told me something that was really hard to say. Remember, sometimes the hardest things to say are the most important ones."
Luca smiled. She was right. All he had to do was speak from the heart.
Guilia grabbed Luca's hand and led him down the hall way.
"All right, now end this once and for all." She smiled and patted Luca on the back.
"I can't thank you enough Guils."
"Luca, as long as you're happy and Alberto's happy, I'm happy."
Luca gave Guilia the most grateful, sunshine filled smile he could muster up, he truly was grateful for his friend.
Luca took in a deep breath.
