Upon hearing this, Ariana’s face turned pale, as if she had been struck by lightning.

“That’s impossible…” She shook her head.

Hearing her, Moss said, “I have no reason to lie to you about this.

”

Yes, there was no reason for him to lie about this.

Why would he benefit from lying to her? Was he trying to deceive her into participating in experiments again? Given Moss’ resources and abilities, he had easily taken Melon from a heavily guarded hospital, so he could have surely taken her away, too.
