Sadie sat slumped on the floor, her limbs bound.
Her gaze was vacant, staring blankly at the floor.
âMr.
Fredrick,â the guards stationed beside Sadie greeted Holden respectfully.
Hearing Holdenâs name, Sadie looked up.
Fear flickered in her eyes, quickly replaced by a manic gleam.
âTheodoreâ¦â she muttered, a twisted smile curving on her lips as Holden stepped closer.
âTheodore, youâre here.
Youâve come to save me, right?â
âSave you?â Holden scoffed.
Without warning, he lashed out, his foot connecting with Sadieâs body.
Sadie shrieked in pain, her pregnant form crumpling to the floor.
Blood trickled from a gash on her forehead caused by the fall.
The room fell silent as Holdenâs kick left Sadie reeling, her mind blank.
Holden pressed his shoe against her face, his voice cold and unforgiving.
âIâve never struck a woman before, but youâve pushed me to my limit.
Why do you keep crossing the Line?â
Sadie could only whimper, tears streaming down her face.
When Holden eased the pressure slightly, she gasped out, âIâll be obedient! Please, Theodore, donât hurt me anymore.
It hurts too muchâ¦â

Holdenâs voice dripped with venom as he said, âObedient? Then why did you run? You claim it hurts? What about the pain you inflicted on Ariana?â His teeth clenched as rage consumed him.
âHow dare you hurt her?â
Even in her vulnerable state, Sadie still hated Ariana deeply.
She tried hard to say, âAriana⦠She deserves to die! Sheâll⦠Rot in helt!â
A murderous glint flashed in Holdenâs eyes.
Without warning, he delivered another kick to Sadieâs head.
Sadie let out a blood-curdling scream as fresh waves of pain rushed through her body.
Dizzy and desperate, she tried to flee, but when she turned her head, her skull collided with the French window.
Pain exploded in her head as if her skull had split in two.
Even her surgically altered nose had been knocked crooked.
The bodyguards flanked her on either side, standing in grim silence, their mere presence suffocating.
âSheâs not going to hell.
â Holdenâs voice was chilling.
âBut you? Oh, youâll be there soon enough.
â Rolling up his sleeves with eerie calmness, he added, âIâll make sure you pay for what you did to her.
â
Suddenly, the weight of the situation crashed down on Sadie.
She realized, with bone-deep terror, that this time, Holden wasnât bluffing-he really meant to kill her.
Her face contorted in fear.
âTheodore⦠Donât you remember me? Iâm Helen,â she said, her voice cracking.
You promised never to abandon me.
How can you go back on your word?â
Holdenâs cold gaze bore into Sadie.
When Sadie saw that Holden was looking at her, her eyes suddenly Lit up, and a flattering smile appeared on her face.
However, she hadnât anticipated that Holden would kick her again.
Sadie was sprawled on the floor, her face a mess of tears and dirt.
