"who wants to go first" Lorenzo said looking at his siblings.
The three of them were sat anxiously on the sofa in the living room.
Lorenzo was sat on an armchair.
"I will" Alex said seeing that his siblings weren't going to anwser.
Lorenzo nodded and opened the email with the title of it being Alex's results.
He scanned through the email. Looking at it carefully.
"What did I get" Alex whispered.
"78"Â Lorenzo finally replied.
"I got in" Alex smiled. He was proud of himself but he knew he didn't really understand anything on the test, he was just good at memorising information.
He had learnt to memorize things quickly at a young age, he did it so he could protect his siblings.
"You did, well done. I'm proud of you" Lorenzo replied. He knew all three of them would benefit from the encouragement.
"Can I go next" James whispered.
Lorenzo nodded and opened James results. He didn't read as much information as it was the same as Alex's.
"You got 76"
"Really? You didn't miss read it" James said, he was pleased with himself. He enjoyed reading all about different subjects and couldn't wait to learn more.
"I read it correctly. You did well, and I am proud of you as well " he told James.
Lorenzo looked at Skye who seemed even more nervous. "I don't think this is a good idea, I've obviously failed" she said quietly.
"How about we look at it together" Lorenzo offered in a gentle tone. Both Alex and James noticed how careful he was around her. They also unwillingly approved of his approach.
"No I can't, you can just do it" she whispered.
"Okay if that's what you want" he said.
He seriously hoped she had gotten in. He had been helping all week and he knew how much effort she had put in. Even though he hadn't been in the library a few times, he had purposely gone in an hour after the usual time she had been going in to see if she needed help.
He found when he was in the library the first couple times, she would come in around 8ish. He would do his own thing then help her after an hour. So that meant when he wasn't already in the library he would put his work away for the evening and go and see if she needed help.
He opened the email. It was longer than the other two so at first glance he worried she had failed.
He quickly got to reading.
His face gave nothing away.
"What is it. How bad did I do?"Â She asked fearing the worst.
Lorenzo saw how nervous she was and quickly finished reading. A small smile on his face.
"Sorry your email was slightly different from Alexander's and James' email. They had the basic school information and then the grade. You did very well Skye, 81, your email was just saying if you wish you can think about taking higher level classes, as you got over 80"
"I got 81" she said with a big smile.
"Yes Skye, I'm proud of you. I'm proud of all three of you. You all showed how hard working you are this week and doing so well is a big achievement. Well done"
Skye smiled she had been worrying and panicking only to find out she had done really well. She couldn't help but get up and hug Lorenzo.
He was a little taken back by the hug, she hadn't initiated a hug with him before so it was different.
"Thank you so much for helping me" she said knowing she wouldn't have got such a good mark of it wasnt for Lorenzo.
"You're welcome Skye but you were the one to put in the work" he replied.
"So tommorow I'm working but Leo will take you for the required books as we didn't get those when we went shopping. School starts in a week's time, if you are thinking of going extra curriculum, have a look online at what the school offers" he told them once Skye pulled away and sat back down.
After a short while they headed back to the dining room. The others had left by now so the four of them quickly ate the rest of their meal.
After dinner Lorenzo went to tell Leo.
He found Leo in his room studying. "So did they get in" Leo asked.
"Unfortunately no. We will need to start looking at public schools we can send them too" Lorenzo decided to mess with him a little.
"Oh that's such a shame. I should go check on them and make sure they are okay" he said getting up.
Lorenzo smiled "no need, I was only messing. They did really well. Skye especially"
"That's great. Obviously Skye did well, you and your genius IQ have been helping her"
"How do you know I've been helping her" Lorenzo asked.
"I have my ways" Leo said.
Lorenzo smiled "she was quick to learn. The boys did really well too, I am a little concerned about Skye though"
"Why?"
"Haven't you noticed their behaviour sometimes"
"Yeah but we are new to them, they are probably just nervous about being with their family after so long"
"Dad said the same thing" Lorenzo said questioning his own thoughts.
He would keep an eye on them, especially Skye. She was having panic attacks so who knows what else.
What concerned him was what had caused her to think they would send her away.
Even if they all hated the triplets, their dad would force the boys to like them.
He had spent years looking and although he was now currently on a business trip, he still loved them and was estatic they were back.
"I need to get some work done make sure you take them for books tommorow" Lorenzo said and left.
Meanwhile
The triplets were happy with themselves. They had actually passed, something they didn't expect.
As they were sat in Alex's room talking there was a knock at the door so Alex went to open it.
Nico was stood outside "I just wanted to come and ask, did you get in"
"We did" Alex confirmed.
"That's brilliant " Nico said inviting himself into Alex's room.
"So extra curriculum, have you had any thought. I'd recommend sports. I mentioned before I'm on the football team, lacrosse and hockey team. Marco is on the football team too and the soccer team, he's the captain of both but when he leaves next year I will be the captain"
Nico was one of the most athletic students, the only reason he wasn't captain was because Marco was slightly better. He was however the captain of the lacrosse and hockey team. Being made it at the end of last year. They preferrered juniors and seniors as captains.
"I don't think I'd like to be on a team with him" James muttered.
Nico laughted "well freshmen have their own sports team, you're not allowed to join the school team until next unless you are really really good then they might make an exception. The good news I'll be captain next year and if you want to play for the team I'll definitely consider you"
"I suppose we could join a few stuff" Alex said giving in. He was happy with his result which had made him less defensive.
"What stuff besides sports is there" Skye whispered. She was happy with her result but she was still really nervous about it all.
"Lots of stuff. You have the academic clubs, they have compete with other schools depending on the club, then the creative stuff like music, art, theatre stuff. Language clubs if you want to learn a new language, and of course sports teams, I know you asked besides sports but if you're worried about going up against people, you could try gymnastics or even cheerleading"
Skye was otherwhelmed with the choices. She had never had this much choice before.
"Well have a look online see if you find something you enjoy" Nico said sensing he had probably told her way to much information.
The triplets decided that they were going to join at least one club. They wanted to make the most out of school. They had never been before and it scared them. They had no idea what to expect.
"What's high school like" James managed to find the courage to ask.
"Riiiight you were home schooled. It's going to be different for you. It's probably going to seem busy because of the amount of students, classes might seem pointless at times but they can be interesting. But once you make lots of friends it will be fun. There are certain groups you should avoid though. You will see why when you meet them. Basically they are the typical wannabes. They are extremely annoying. Anyway whatever happens I'll be about so if anyone tries anything I'll put a stop to it"
Ok so they got in with great scores. If it's not obvious by now, Lorenzo suspects they had a bad life.
I'm not sure whether to skip the week and have the next chapter their first day of school. Would you guys want to see more about what they do during the week or going to school.
