"so father will be back in a few days" Lorenzo said as the siblings sat at the dining table having dinner.
"Does that mean you're leaving us" Nico asked.
The triplets especially Skye looked up not knowing what Nico meant.
"I won't be around as much" he told them.
Leo saw the triplets were confused so decided to explain for them.
"Lorenzo has an apartment in town. He doesn't exactly live here. Some days he stops here but other times he's at his own place"
Leo was planning to move out after he had finished his studies.
"How come you have been living here if you have your own place, sir" James asked quietly.
"Because dad is on a business trip and there would be no one to look after you all if I wasn't here" Lorenzo told him.
"So you won't be staying here any longer" Skye whispered not wanting him to leave.
"Like Leo said, I spend my time between here and my own place. Sometimes I will stay here other times I stay there"
Marcos words came back to mind about Lorenzo not being around to protect her.
She suddenly felt very guilty for telling him to leave.
"So how was everyone's day" Lorenzo asked, he included everyone but he was only interested in the triplets.
Marco just rolled his eyes in response, Nico told everyone about his day, Leo didn't go into too much detail as he knew only Lorenzo would understand.
"And what about you three" Lorenzo asked.
At first Alex was going to be blunt and say it was fine when he remembered Theo.
If they truly were friends with him, Lorenzo would know.
"We made some friends I guess" Alex muttered not knowing what to call them.
"That's great, what are they called" Leo said.
"Actually that's the thing. One of them, Theo, he claims he used to be out friend"
"Like you had friends" Marco scoffed.
"That's enough Marco" Lorenzo replied coldy, he shared a look with Leo.
"Yes Theo was your friend. It was presumed he would be joining the high school you are at but we didn't mention him as we didn't want to pressure the 4 of you to become friends again and we know you don't remember anything " Lorenzo replied.
"See I told you" Skye muttered to Alex
"At least we know now" Alex mumbled.
"Did you sign up for anything " Leo asked.
"Not yet, I was thinking of it's okay maybe I could join the science club sir" James finally spoke up.
This came as a shock to Alex and Skye who didn't realize James wanted to join.
"Of course you can" Lorenzo replied pleased that James was becoming a little more confident.
"What about you two" Lorenzo asked.
"We are not sure probably science I guess" Alex wasn't interested in science but he didn't want James to be alone.
"I can take you down to the gym tommorow, they are having tryouts for a few first year teams in the evening you could sign up to one" Nico offered.
"Okay" Alex agreed not wanting to be rude or upset Nico.
Lorenzo looked to Skye wanting an anwser from her "I'll think about it sir " she whispered in response to his question.
Lorenzo really did hate being addressed as sir by his siblings but instead of having the same conversation over and over he decided it would be best to show them they could trust him.
Dinner past quickly and they all parted ways.
Leo and Lorenzo to their offices to work.
Nico went to the gym.
Marco to his room.
And the triplets decided to complete a project due next week.
The evening went on quite fast and soon it was almost 10pm so James left first as Alex wanted to talk to Skye.
"Are we okay" he asked.
Skye nodded not wanting to talk about the events earlier on.
"Will you tell me who is bothering you. I don't want you getting hurt" he said.
"Just leave it" Skye said not wanting to confess it was Marco and his friends.
"Okay if that's what you want" Alex knew not to push her or she would shut down.
"Goodnight" she whispered. She really didn't want to leave. At nighttime she missed her brothers the most, they had slept near each other for years. Skye would cuddle up to Alex or James. Sleeping was hard for her. She never really slept even now she only slept when she was truly exhausted.
""Goodnight Skye" Alex replied hugging her.
Minutes past.
"I should go" she whispered not wanting to but not wanting to be up past 10pm.
"A few more minutes please " Alex whispered holding her tighter.
The hug between them had an unspoken meaning. It was almost a reassurance that they were both still alive, they both were okay and that Alex would protect Skye no matter what.
After another 5 minutes they parted and Skye soon left.
Unfortunately she crossed paths with Marco as he had just come up the stairs.
His lack of shirt freaked her out, not that he noticed. He had just come from the gym and it was common for them to throw their shirts into the laundry room once they were done as the room was next door to the gym.
"I wouldn't bother signing up for anything, you're too dumb" Marco said.
Skye didn't really hear him. Her mind elsewhere.
"Perhaps you're deaf too" he asked not liking that she didn't acknowledge his insult.
Skye backed away from him in fear making Marco laugh. He took a step closer to her not realizing how scared she actually was. He didn't know the true reason that scared her either.
"How pathetic" he muttered as he saw the tears gathering in her eyes.
"Please don't sir" she begged taking another step back.
Marco laughed and took another step forward "don't what" he taunted.
Skyes back hit the wall, she had nowhere to go back and Marco knew this. He made it so he was standing exactly in front of her. She was now shaking in fear.
"You're so weak and pathetic you know that right. Lorenzo is only nice to you because you are new but after a while he isn't going to give a shit. He won't care about you. You're nothing but a weak attention seeking bitch" he snapped.
He then left and went to his room .
Skye didn't want to break down. She tried her hardest but once she found her way to her room and shut the door, she broke down in tears. She hated how right Marco was. She knew she wasn't an attention seeker but she knew how weak she actually was.
She realised that whilst she had been here she had cried more times in her room than over the past year. It was because she had her own space with no one around. She didn't have to pretend. All the pain she ever felt over the years, she didn't have to ignore it, she could finally embrace it. She was tired of pretending to be okay.
So this chapter established Lorenzo has his own place I've not really seen any books where any of the brothers have their own place, seperate from the rest. But logically Lorenzo isn't the guardian of them and their dad is still alive so he would have his own place especially considering his age, he also has a girlfriend that will be introduced shortly.
I'm still undecided on whether she's going to be bitchy or not. She probably is.
Also Marco isnt going to be suddenly forgiven. But also as awful as he is, as of now he wouldn't go further than the mean comments/scaring her towards Skye. I might also do a Marco pov
The triplets are not comfortable enough to share what happened to them however Lorenzo already suspects abuse so he probably will find out first.
