Chapter 24 The Cheating Student and The Top Student
The following day. Meredith donned Quantumâs school uniform. Her tall figure made the plain, gray uniform seem more fashionable, especially with her long, slender, fair legs beneath the pleated skirt. She completely outshone Myra standing nearby.
The two of them traveled to school by car. Upon arrival, Myra subtly distanced herself from Meredith, not wanting to be associated with her.
But they had just taken a few steps when they noticed a large banner hanging at the school gate.

The Kane family would hold a banquet for Myra annually on her birthday, so she was already accustomed to such situations. Myra felt secretly pleased. This was precisely what she wanted.

âEven if youâre pretty and achieve perfect scores, your unruly personality makes you unlikeable.â
âAfter all, youâre just a hillbilly from the countryside. Even if you were adopted by the Kane family, youâre just a country bumpkin at the end of the day. Youâll never be acknowledged as the Kane familyâs daughter.â
Meredith looked coldly at the gossiping students and said, âYouâre right. A country bumpkin will never be acknowledged as the Kane familyâs daughter. A commoner will always be a commoner, even if they dress
and are admitted into Quantum. It wonât change their true nature.â

When Myra heard it, her face paled briefly. Meredith was taunting her for being a commoner.

Meredith couldnât be bothered to pay them any more attention and went straight to the student affairs directorâs office.
âWhat? Youâre saying you want to go to Class Eleven? Isnât Class One good enough?â Mr. Langley was shocked upon hearing Meredithâs request.
Who would choose to go to a lowerâranked class when they can be in the first class? She canât be so reckless even if she has good grades!
Moreover, Tom had invited reporters today to report on the genius student entering Class One.
âI have no particular reason. Just arrange it for me. Also, get me a dorm room. I want to live on campus,â Meredith said expressionlessly before turning and leaving. She had a cold gaze and appeared very aloof.
Tom and the schoolâs publicity department entertained the reporters in the lounge while waiting for Meredith to arrive for the interview.
However, only Myra showed up. Tom pulled her aside and asked, âWhereâs Meredith? Why didnât you bring her along?â
âShe must be having stage fright. She refused to come no matter what I said on the way here. I donât know where she went, Myra replied innocently.
Meredith had gone missing at this critical moment, and Tomâs anger instantly surged. âI should have known that a hillbilly like her is unreliable! Forget it. Iâll cancel her interview with the reporters. She might not know how to answer the questions and end up embarrassing the Kane family,â he said in a low voice.
Myraâs lips curled into a subtle smile when she saw how furious Tom was. âDonât cancel the interview, Dad. The news about her canât be proven if she doesnât show up. The reporters felt they had stumbled upon juicy gossip when they heard it. As they approached, they discovered they had indeed uncovered a revelation.
âYou must be Meredithâs family, right? How dare you flaunt her results when she cheated?! Get out of Quantum!â Some students saw Tom leading the group of reporters and began to criticize him. âAn academic prodigy? She cheated!â
âI really thought she was a genius student. As it turns out, she cheated. Sheâs just an attentionâseeking Student!

The surrounding students spoke simultaneously, leaving Tom feeling bewildered. The teacher from the publicity department with them was also perplexed.

Two names were written on the papers. Meredith Reign and Seth Creed. Seth Creed was Quantum Academyâs top student and the principalâs son!
Not only did Meredith cheat, but she also copied the principalâs sonâs paper!
