"Beer?"
"How are you?"
Instead of answering his question, I throw another question at him.
"You brought me here to the hospital?"
"Yeah." He first put the paper bag he was carrying on the small table next to my bed and then he approached me. He reached for my forehead to check my temperature.
"How did you know?"
"The dorm admin called me."
"How did the dorm admin know? And why did they call you? I mean, why you?"
He looked at me and smiled. "How did the admin know about it? My brother called her. Then the admin called me to take you to the hospital because your fever was high. You were shivering. My brother also called me to watch over you for a while."
"I don't understand. How did your brother know?"
"Because I know his brother." A familiar voice echoed throughout the whole room. I immediately looked at the room's entrance and was shocked to see him.
"Why are you here?" I curiously asked Pondl. He was looking at me seriously. His one hand was placed inside his pocket. Dark circles under his eyes are slightly visible.
He didn't answer me. He just shook his head and came closer to me. He reached for my forehead to check my temperature. "It's finally gone." He said in a relieved voice and he sat on the side of my bed.
"Why are you here?" I asked him again.
"You called him, Phuwin. Don't you remember?" Si Beer ang sumagot.
"I called him? When?"
"The night you were shivering and in a delirious state due to a high fever, you called me."
"Really? Why can't I remember anything?" I asked curiously.
"Maybe your body reacts on its own." Pond answer.
"But why are you here? I mean, if I called you last night, how come you are here already?"
"Last night? What do you mean you called me last night?" Pond asked me confusedly.
"You told me that I called you last night."
"Phu, you are out more than 24 hours. You called me last Friday night and now it's Sunday afternoon already."
"WHAT?"
"Too much stress and pressure cause you a 40-degree fever. You were shivering when you called me. When you were taken to the hospital, your fever didn't go down right away. It was just this morning that your fever went down completely but you were monitored closely in case it rose again. You were unconscious also the whole time."
"You're joking, right? I mean, me being unconscious for more than 24 hours?"
"Phuwin, since when did I take your situation as a joke?" Pond asked me back.
"But."
"Phu, have you ever reached a 40-degree fever?"
I immediately shook my head as an answer to Pond's question.
"Exactly. Because you were immediately sent to the hospital if you could not handle your fever, but last Friday, you just ate and slept after taking your medicine. You didn't even bother to check your temperature. The high temperature stays until you are brought to the hospital."
I couldn't speak anymore. Pond is right. Gemini takes me to the hospital immediately once I start shivering or I can't even move because of my fever. This is the first time that my fever reached 40 degrees.
"Sorry." I look down. I didn't even think that my fever was that high. As I've said, this is the first time my fever has gotten that high.
"You said you would take care of yourself?" Pond caress my hair.
"I did. But, you know that stress and pressure are not a perfect combination."
"I know, but it doesn't mean that you're going to let your fever rise like that."
"I took my medicine."
"But you didn't monitor your temperature. You don't have someone with you in your dorm either. You should asked Beer to accompany you."
I looked at Beer who was just sitting quietly beside me. "He is busy." I answered.
"I can always find ways to be with you, Phuwin." Beer said.
"But."
"Should I call Gemini, now?"
"No." I answered as fast as I could and a realization hit me that my brother was not with Pond.
I looked at Pond curiously. "Doesn't my brother know?"
"No. I didn't tell him."
"Didn't he ask??"
"He did."
"What did you say?"
"I missed you."
"Huh?"
Did I hear it right? He missed me. Pond missed me?
I just laughed. "When my brother gets jealous, it's up to you to persuade him."
Of course, that's not true. Pond wouldn't say that to Gemini. That's a joke. I was just caught off guard.
"Gem? Jealous? That's not gonna happen."
I smile. He is confident that Gem will not be jealous.
"Anyway, thank you on your way here. Sorry for calling you unconsciously."
"No need to say thank you, Phu. I will take care of you as long as I can and as long as you want me to."
I smiled. It was good to hear what he said. But knowing that he is my brother's boyfriend, I can't help but feel that he is taking care of me as his responsibility since I am his boyfriend's twin.
"Where are you staying at?" I change the topic. I don't want to think about anything because my fever might come back.
"At your dorm."
"Huh?"
I know that we can let our relatives stay in our dorm if they visit us. It's one of the privileges of an exchange student like me. But it has to be relatives. The privilege is strictly for relatives only.
"I stay at your dorm."
"How? What did you say to our admin?"
"I just told him that I am your husband."
"POND!"
"I tell her that we are already engaged and we will get married as soon as we graduate. Your admin believed me and was very happy. They cheerfully guided me to your room and even the door for me. "
"Why did you answer them that?"
"Why? Is it not possible?"
"What do you think?"
"Are you interested with someone else?"
"Pond?"
"Phuwin, I can tell to everyone that you are my husband."
"Are you crazy Pond? What will my brother say??"
"Nothing. What will he say??"
I tightly close my eyes. I don't know if I want to punch Pond or I want to strangle him. Even though I wanted to be happy for what he replied to my dorm admin, I couldn't. He is my brother's boyfriend. Hearing such an answer is not good. What if my brother found out? How will it feel?
"Pond, I hope this will be the first and last time you will introduce yourself as my husband. I don't want to have conflict with my brother because of that."
"Phuwin." Sadness and pain is very visible to his eyes. "Why?"
"Pond, I love my brother. I don't want to have a conflict with him because of you. You might have a big trust in each other but that is not enough reason. I don't want to be the reason of my brother's jealousy over you."
"What are you talking Phuwin?"
"You know exactly what I am talking Pond."
"Phuwin."
"I appreciate you coming here to make sure I am okay. I appreciate you taking care of me. And I think it's enough. I mean, I appreciate what you did, but you need to go back to Thailand. I am okay now and you don't have to worry about me anymore. Also, Beer is with me."
"What kind of misunderstanding we have here Phuwin?"
"There is no misunderstanding here Pond. Please go back to Thailand. Rest assured that this will not going to happened again. Please go back to my brother. Thank you and goodbye, Pond.
