I curled up tighter in my bed, the blanket cocooning me as I replayed everything that had just happened. My heart raced, and I could feel the heat of embarrassment creeping up my cheeks. How did I misread everything so badly?

I wanted to bury my head and pretend none of it had happened. The laughter from the living room felt distant, but I could still hear Gem and my mom's warm chuckle. The weight of my emotions felt so heavy, and I wished I could just vanish.

After a few moments, I finally sat up and wiped my eyes. The tears had stopped, but the sting of humiliation remained. I couldn't believe I had let my imagination get out of control, especially when Pond had been so clear. My heart raced at the thought of his words and, the way he looked at me.

I wanted to scream into my pillow.

Suddenly, there was a soft knock at my door. "Phu? Can I come in?" It was Pond. His voice was calm, soothing even, but I felt my stomach twist at the thought of facing him.

"Go away," I mumbled, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing me like this.

"Please? Just let me talk to you for a minute."

I hesitated, the internal battle raging within me. Finally, I sighed and pulled the blanket off my head. "Fine, but just for a minute."

He opened the door slowly, peeking in with a cautious expression. His eyes softened when he saw me sitting on the edge of my bed, clearly trying to compose myself.

"Hey," he said softly, stepping inside. "Are you okay now?"

I nodded, not trusting myself to speak.

Pond sat down beside me, his presence comforting yet intimidating. "I just want you to know that I meant every word. You're important to me, and I don't want you to doubt that."

I looked down, biting my lip. "It's just... I thought that you and Gem are lover. I feel so bad to have a feeling for yo. I didn't mean to make a scene or anything at all. It's just that I let my emotion run wild a while ago."

He reached out, gently lifting my chin so I would meet his gaze. "Me and Gem are friends Phuwin. That will never change. You're my choice, and nothing will change that."

His sincerity washed over me like a wave, easing some of the tension in my chest. "I'm sorry for how I acted. I let my emotion and imagination take over."

"It's okay," he said with a soft smile. "We all have moments like that. But I promise, you don't need to worry about me choosing anyone else. It's always going to be you."

I felt a mixture of relief and embarrassment flood over me. "You really mean that?"

"Of course I do. You're the one I want," he said, his eyes locking onto mine with a sincerity that made my heart flutter.

I took a deep breath, the tension slowly dissipating. "Okay. Thank you for clearing that up. I just need some time to process everything."

"Take all the time you need. I'll be here," he replied, leaning back slightly but keeping his gaze on me.

For the first time in what felt like ages, I smiled, the corners of my lips lifting as warmth spread through my chest. "You really are too good to be true."

He chuckled, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "Maybe I'm just good enough for you."

As the moment settled between us, all the negative feeling was gone. I finally feel relieve. I shoukd have stop over thinking and not make everything worst.

The silence stretched comfortably between us, a soothing balm over the earlier chaos. I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of my worries lift just a little.

"Can I asked you about something?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Pond nodded, a bright smile spreading across his face.

"Our status? I mean, you kissed me. We kissed a while ago. I confessed and you too."

I pouter my lips. I can't grasp any proper word to make the question clearly.

Pond chuckled and face me properly.

"As much as I want to pursue you I can't do that at all. I don't want to have another misunderstanding between us.   I want our status to step on anther level and skip the courting phase."

"So, you are my boyfriend now?"

"Yes. I'm yours and you are mine."

I smile shyly and threw myself into him. I buried my face in his shoulder blade. Smile on my lips get wider and I can't stop it at all.

"I love you Phu."

"I love you too, Pond."

"Can we go somewhere tonight?"

I pulled away from his hug. "Where?"

"How about we go for ice cream later? Just the two of us. It'll be our first date."

"First date?" I echoed, my heart skipping a beat. The idea of spending time with him, just us, made me feel giddy.

"Yeah. I mean, if you're okay with it," he added, a hint of shyness creeping into his voice. "I want to show you how much you mean to me, properly this time."

"I'd like that," I replied, a smile breaking through my earlier embarrassment. "Ice cream sounds perfect."

"Great!" His eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

"Mint chocolate chip, please." I said, feeling a sense of normalcy returning.

"Of course." He replied, grinning

We shared a laugh, and the warmth of the moment began to erase the tension that had hung in the air earlier. It felt nice to think about something light and fun, rather than the emotional rollercoaster I'd been on.

"Just one more thing," I said, suddenly feeling serious again. "I don't want to create any more misunderstandings. Can we agree to communicate better?"

"Definitely," Pond replied earnestly. "I don't want you to ever feel like you have to beg for my attention or affection. You deserve so much more than that."

"Thanks, Pond. That means a lot," I said, feeling the sincerity in his words.

He smiled softly and then hesitated for a moment. "You know, I was really worried when I saw you crying earlier. It made me realize how much I care about you."

My heart swelled at his admission. "I care about you too and Gem. And what in my mind a while ago is losing what we have because I let my emotion take over me."

"We're not losing anything, Phuwin," he said gently. "If anything, we're building something stronger."

As we continued to talk and laugh, the earlier confusion began to fade, replaced by a sense of hope and excitement for what lay ahead. I felt lighter, and the connection we shared felt renewed.

"Okay, ice cream at six?" he asked, standing up and brushing off his jeans.

"Sounds like a plan," I replied, standing up too.

Before he left the room, he paused and turned to me. "And remember, you're my choice, Phuwin. Always."

I nodded, my heart fluttering. "Always."

As he walked out, I realized my feelings to him is really stronger that I think. And Pond have the same feelings too. We are now official. I'm so happy with that.

With a smile on my face, I began to prepare for our ice cream date, looking forward to the evening and the chance to start fresh.

As I got ready for our ice cream date, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. I wanted everything to be perfect. I picked out a comfortable outfit—something that made me feel good but was also casual enough for ice cream.

Standing in front of the mirror, I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. Thoughts of the earlier misunderstanding flitted through my mind, but I pushed them aside. Tonight was about us, and I was determined to enjoy every moment.

When the clock struck six, I headed downstairs, the anticipation building. I found Gem lounging in the living room, scrolling through his phone. His smile widened as soon as he saw me.

"Look who's finally ready!" he teased, his eyes twinkling. "Going somewhere special?"

"Just out for ice cream with Pond," I replied, trying to keep my tone casual.

"Just ice cream, huh? Nothing more?" he said, raising an eyebrow playfully.

"Maybe," I replied with a smirk, feeling a flutter of excitement in my stomach.

"Good luck! And remember, if he does anything stupid, call me," Gem said, leaning back with a grin.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be fine," I said, rolling my eyes but feeling grateful for his support. As I stepped outside, the warm evening air wrapped around me, and I spotted Pond waiting by his bike. He looked relaxed and effortlessly handsome, his smile lighting up the space around him.

Wait, a bike? Did he went home to get his bike? Maybe, coz I don't see his bike parked in our house.

"Hey, you look great!" he said, his eyes sparkling as they met mine.

"Thanks! You're not looking too bad yourself," I replied, feeling my cheeks warm at his compliment.

He hopped onto his bike and gestured for me to join him. "Ready to go?"

I nodded, excitement bubbling up inside me as I climbed onto the seat behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist. The moment felt thrilling, and as we sped off, the wind rushed past us, filling me with a sense of freedom.

When we arrived at the ice cream shop, the sweet, creamy scent enveloped us, and I felt my mouth water. We stepped inside, the colorful tubs of ice cream sparkling under the lights.

"Okay, what's your order?" Pond asked, scanning the flavors with an eager expression.

"Mint chocolate chip, of course! You?" I replied, feeling playful.

"Classic vanilla with all the toppings!" he said with a grin.

Yeah, Pond and his classic vanilla ice cream with so much toppings in it. Extravagant ice cream as what Gem always called it.

After placing our orders, we found a small table outside. As we dug into our ice cream, the conversation flowed easily, laughter spilling between us.

"I can't believe you like vanilla," I teased, mockingly shaking my head. "So boring!"

"Boring? Vanilla is classic!" he defended, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"But mint chocolate chip is way more fun!" I argued, grinning.

"Touché," he conceded, laughing.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over us, I felt a sense of ease. The earlier tension felt like a distant memory.

"So," Pond said, leaning back in his chair, "are you feeling better about everything?"

I nodded, my heart swelling at the thought of how far we'd come in just a few hours. "Yeah, I really am. Thanks for being so patient with me."

"I'll always be patient with you," he said softly, his gaze locking onto mine. "I care about you too much to do anything else."

His words made my heart skip a beat. I felt a rush of warmth and hope for the future.

"I care about you too, Pond," I replied, feeling a smile spread across my face. "You're really important to me."

As we finished our ice cream, the sun dipped below the horizon, and the sky turned a beautiful shade of pink and orange. I couldn't help but feel that this was just the beginning of something special.

"Ready for round two?" Pond asked, his eyes sparkling mischievously.

"Round two?" I echoed, raising an eyebrow.

"Let's walk around the park. I know a great spot to watch the stars," he suggested, standing up and extending his hand to me.

"Sounds perfect," I said, taking his hand and feeling a thrill run through me.

As we strolled through the park, hand in hand, I couldn't shake the feeling that everything was finally falling into place. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and I felt a sense of peace enveloping us.

Under the stars, I realized that despite the confusion and misunderstandings, what we had was real—and I couldn't wait to explore it further.
