Anastasia felt absurd as she retorted inwardly, âAre you forbidding others from doing what you yourself are doing?â Then, she replied. âWhat did you say? I canât hear you.â
The music in the bar was loud, and even though she was in a quiet area, she could not hear Alastor clearly.
âShe is drunk. Iâll bring her back with me if you donât plan to pick her up.â Jason reached out and took Anastasiaâs phone.
Alastor hung up the phone directly.
âHe may think youâre threatening him.â Jason leaned against the smoking area and lit a cigarette.
Anastasia also leaned against the wall and reached out for a cigarette.
âAre you crazy?â Jason frowned and put off the lit cigarette.
His movement of lighting the cigarette was out of habit. He had forgotten that Anastasia was right beside him.
âWhat did he say?â Anastasia asked with her head down.
âNothing.â Jason was telling the truth.
Anastasia fell into silence. Then, she stood up straight and walked out dizzily.
âWhere are you going?â Jason trailed after Anastasia.
âDidnât you say youâd stay with me tonight? Letâs go to the hotel.â Anastasia seemed to be joking, yet she seemed serious about it.
âAre you trying to burst out all of your rebellious habits that you have yet to show from your teenage years?â Jason was amused.
âIt sounds like you know me very well. How do you know that I was not rebellious during my puberty?â
Anastasia laughed ironically.
She had chosen to be an obedient girl at the time of everyoneâs rebellious puberty.
She was so obedient that anyone could bully her.
The most rebellious thing that had happened in her life was her leaving her soâcalled biological family and choosing to have a blitz marriage with Alastor.
âLet me take you to a place.â Jason pulled Anastasia over and took her through the bar kitchen. They entered the private elevator and went upstairs.
That was not a tall building, and it had an openâair garden on the roof. There were many green plants and beautiful flowers in bloom.
Hidden within the highârise buildings of Hork, the scene looked like a land of paradise.
âIf he comes, you can see him from here.â Jason pointed downstairs.
Anastasia was slightly looking forward to it as she asked, âDo you think he will come?â
âWhy did you get married at an early age?â Jason asked.
Those who had the same age as Anastasia, such as Kimberly, were still pursuing their studies.
âI wanted to pursue my postgraduate studies initially, but I chose the blitz marriage in the age when I should enhance myself.â Anastasia smiled while she lowered her head, and she thought that was her fate. She continued, âThatâs why Iâve always been rebellious.â
âI thought you would continue pursuing your study. You said your dreamâ¦â Jasonâs voice was very low.
âHmm?â Anastasia did not hear him clearly.
âNothingâ Jason brought Anastasia a bottle of mineral water.
âCan we take anything we want here? Will that count as stealing?â Anastasia glanced around and found that there was no one on such a beautiful rooftop.
âItâs a private area, Jason said indifferently.
âPrivate area? Why did you bring me here? Arenât you afraid that the manager will fine you?â Anastasia sat by the flower pond, looking downstairs.
In fact, she was expecting Alastor to come for her.
It was humble for her to force Alastor away from Felicia in such a way.
Are you afraid of this when youâre so rebellious?â Jason smiled and added, âAnastasia, do you plan to have a divorce?â
Anastasia shook her head. âI wonât divorce him.â
She thought, âWhy should I divorce him?â
Jason frowned, and his expression turned gloomy. âDo you love him that much?â
âI love him. After four years of marriage, he has become family to me and a material basis I have never had before. How could it possibly be that I donât love him?â Anastasia said ironically while she described herself in a vulgar manner.
Nevertheless, all she wanted was to have her own family.
Before meeting Alastor, she was very poor. Her tuition fee needed to be covered by a student loan, and she needed to work many partâtime jobs to sustain her living expenses. Her mentor had helped her apply for a slot for her postgraduate study, but she gave it up because Alastor had promised to create a home for her.
âYou can start a new life again. Thereâs still a long way ahead for your future.â Jason looked at Anastasia, wanting her to give Alastor up.
Anastasia just smiled at him.
She thought, âIâm sick and dying. I canât see my future ahead. If I can live longer, I wonât try to persuade Alastor to stay without a remainder of my dignity. Iâll leave without turning back and live my desired life.
However. Iâm dying soon. All 1- want is to have a complete family when I pass away and âBeloved Wife of Alastorâ written on my gravestone.â
It was one oâclock in the morning.
Anastasia browsed through Instagram and said in despair, âHe wonât come.â
Felicia had posted something on her Instagram. She was hospitalized and wrote: [Iâm lucky to have the fruitful result of our love again.]
Felicia was pregnant, too.
