Chapter 2 - Its Like War

A grin spread across my face as I reached for his zipper.

I swallowed hard as electrifying sensations began to creep down my spine, this was wrong on so many levels but I still went ahead with it. I pushed the silver zipper down slowly wanting desperately to see what was beneath it all; suddenly two strong hands grabbed my shoulders painfully.

My body trembled in fear as I looked up into the green eyes of my mysterious man, he must have seen what I was doing and he was probably pissed. I opened my mouth to provide him with a flimsy excuse as to why I had been unzipping his trousers, yet as I stared into his eyes they appeared unfocused; he seemed to be looking at something only he could see.

“Hey are you ok.” I asked very concerned, I don’t know what it was about this boy but I had this strong urge to protect him from everything it startled even me that I could have strong urges or feelings for someone I barely knew.

“We are all going to die.” He said in aguish now focusing his attention on me. “I have to stop It.” he added tightening his grip on my shoulders and shaking me as if the answers were hiding on my body and shaking it would make it fall on to his lap.

I winced in pain, “Hey it’s ok.” I cooed and guided his head towards my shoulder, he must be in some kind of shock, I mean you would be too if you fell from the sky. I patted his back softly and whispered encouraging words to him.

I felt his body unclench, his breathing seemed to relax and then I heard the gentle snore, I stood back and laid him gently on the ground. I felt so sorry for him; he must have been through a lot, journeying from his universe here, for I was very convinced that he was an alien.

I stared at his body curiously, not because I was checking him out but I wanted to see if he had eleven toes or three hearts, basically something different that would confirm my suspicions, but I found nothing strange, in fact he looked very human but who knows there could be something underneath that I couldn’t see.

I snapped out of my daze and busied myself with cleaning his wounds, the cut on his back was very deep, it looked like someone one had slashed his back with a sword. The rest of the wounds were bruises which he had probably sustained from the fall.

I realized that he needed several stitches, so I rushed back into our cabin searching for my first aid which I had forgotten on my first trip; I also grabbed a flask containing hot water and more towels. The rain was coming done harder; it hadn’t rained like this in years as far as I knew, but then I never really paid attention to the weather so I could be wrong.

I soaked the towels I had procured with hot water from the flask and began to clean the wounds which were a mixture of blood and dirt, this time I was too concerned about his health to lust after his body. I stitched the parts that needed to be stitched and then wrapped the wounds in deep bandages, for now he would be okay, I just prayed his wounds didn’t get infected or I would have to take him to the hospital, which would be bad because they would have questions about his wounds and then demand an ID which I couldn’t produce.

Satisfied with my nursing him, I sat back and once again my mind drifted to the naked body lying in front of me, he didn’t have a stitch of clothing on him save for the bandages, my cheeks turned red as l stared at his lower waist, I quickly looked away and picked up a spare sheet close by.

It was better this way; I wouldn’t be tempted to lust after an unconscious man who I suspected to be an alien.

The next thing I knew I should do was go back and cover his tracks, because I knew someone would eventually find that enormous hole in the woods and then they would come investigating, and when they did I had to make sure there was no trace whatsoever leading to this man.

I opened the door of the storage room and rain spattered on my face; perhaps I ought to stay inside because with the way it was raining it looked like all evidence of his crash on earth would be washed away by the rain. Yet my conscience told me I had to make sure that whatever the rain didn’t wash away I would make it disappear.

The minute I stepped into the rain I slipped and fell into a puddle of mud, it took me several tries to get back on my feet again.

“This is stupid.” I mumbled, why was I helping this stranger that I barely knew I asked myself, of course I didn’t not get an answer.

Even though I thought it was ridiculous I still went into the woods, I took small slow steps, I searched the ground for anything mysterious, but found nothing until I came to the place where the gigantic hole had been made, it was now been filled with water, I made sure I didn’t go closer because I could slip into it and die by drowning or snap my neck.

I turned around and scrutinized my surroundings searching for anything out of place, I quickly spotted a silver suitcase, I picked it up and searched the area for more stuff, but saw nothing, I gave up because I was getting colder and the ground was getting stickier and slippery.

I turned around and left, instead of going to the storage room I went back to the cabin because, one; I needed to change, and two I needed to make my mysterious man some soup, I was a bit skeptical about the soup because I wasn’t sure if he might like it seeing as he was an alien.

After I changed my clothes I went back to the kitchen and started to make chicken soup, I was so preoccupied with my task that I didn’t notice it was had stopped raining.

“OH MY GOD REESE.” My sister exclaimed behind me.

I turned around to see  her standing by the door way now clothed, I scoffed and stared at her angrily, I suddenly remembered that she had slept with my boy friend an hour ago, I had been so preoccupied with my mysterious alien that I had forgotten about her disgusting betrayal.

“What.” I snapped at her.

For a second she too seemed have forgotten what she had done and suddenly remembered when I shouted at her, she stared at me wearily unable to decide whether to continue or run away before I killed her with my stone cold glare. “Er they announced………” she stopped and fidgeted with her dress nervously.

“They announced what.” I asked getting rather impatient.

“They announced on TV a few minutes ago that they think…………” she paused and smiled. “THEY THINK AN ALIEN HAS LANDED IN CLEARWATER.” She added the last one on a happy note.

My first reaction to this disturbing news was shock, I laughed nervously and tried to pretend the news she had just thrown at me meant nothing. “That’s ridiculous, there’s no such thing as aliens, they only exist in movies.” I ridiculed her and then turned back to my soup and pretended to be busy.

“But it’s true they announced it on TV, they even showed images of the alien landing.

“What.’ I exclaimed, they saw him landing, what did she mean by that.

“Well they saw a light flashing in the sky and then a body from out of space without a parachute, and they strongly believe it’s an alien.”

“Who’s they.” Whoever they were I didn’t like them and I wondered how long it would take them to coming looking for my mysterious man, who I had decided to call Angel because I couldn’t call him alien or mystery man anymore.

Before she could answer I heard the sound of several cars approaching our house and lots of shouts.

“It must have landed somewhere around this area.” One voice boomed from outside.

What?! Oh my god they found him already? I run outside quickly to head towards the storage room, oh god oh god, I mumbled frantically, the minute I swung the front door open I saw men and woman dressed in soldier uniforms storming into the woods, some were also seated in military tanks which was also driving into the woods.

I gasped in horror, they looked like they were going to war, oh god they were going to find him, I looked towards the storage room it was undisturbed but men in soldier uniforms were marching up and down close to it, all they had to do was walk inside and there he would be, defenseless and wounded.

Tears welled up in my eyes, I would rather die before I let them touch him or take him away from me.

“Remember it could be very dangerous, the minute you spot it shoot it down.” I heard someone announce on a speaker.

“They are going to kill the alien Reese.” My sister whispered excitedly behind me. I wanted to slap her but I maintained my cool. I needed to move him from the storage room to a better hiding place, but how was I going to accomplish that without letting three hundred armed men not catch me!
