After coming downstairs, Jake and Alex sat nervously at the kitchen table as Mrs. Faulkner poured herself a cup of coffee. The tension in the room was thick, and neither boy dared to speak. They knew they were caught, and now they were waiting to hear their fate.

Mrs. Faulkner set her mug down and crossed her arms. "I spoke with Maria this morning," she said, her tone calm but firm. "We both agreed that while we’re not angry about your choices, we are very disappointed that you lied to us. So, you both will face consequences."

Alex swallowed hard. "What kind of consequences?"

Mrs. Faulkner took a deep breath. "For the next forty-eight hours, no video games, no TV, no phones. You’ll follow a strict schedule—early bedtime, chores, and yes, you’ll be in diapers the entire time. But you don’t get to change yourselves—I will."

Jake’s face turned red. "Mom, come on—"

She held up a hand, silencing him. "You made your choices, and now you deal with the consequences. If you’re mature enough to make these decisions on your own, you should be mature enough to accept the punishment that comes with lying."

Alex sighed. "So… what do we have to do?"

Mrs. Faulkner picked up a notepad from the counter and handed it to them. "Here’s your schedule. Breakfast, chores, study time, lunch, more chores, quiet time, dinner, then bedtime at eight-thirty. No exceptions."

Jake and Alex exchanged a look, realizing this was going to be a long two days.

The First Day

After finishing their breakfast, the boys were instructed to clean up the dishes. Mrs. Faulkner kept a close eye on them, making sure they did everything properly.

Next came the chores—vacuuming, dusting, and even scrubbing the bathroom. Every time they complained, Mrs. Faulkner simply reminded them, "You’re proving to me that you can be responsible."

By lunchtime, both boys were exhausted. As they sat down to eat, Mrs. Faulkner checked their diapers and decided it was time for a change.

After a fresh change, they were sent to the dining room for study time, where they had to read and write a short reflection on why honesty was important.

The afternoon continued with more chores—taking out the trash, folding laundry, and even organizing the garage. When dinner rolled around, they were too tired to argue.

Before bedtime, Mrs. Faulkner called them both into the living room. "There’s one last part of your punishment," she said sternly. She then instructed both boys to stand side by side and, one at a time, bent them over her lap and delivered 30 firm spankings. It was quick, but enough to drive home the point.

"Lying has consequences," she said as she finished. "I expect better from both of you."

By eight-thirty, they were changed into fresh diapers and sent to bed. "Tomorrow is more of the same," Mrs. Faulkner reminded them as she turned off the lights.

The Second Day

The routine continued much the same as the first day, with more chores, study time, and early bedtime. By the end of it, both boys had learned their lesson.

On the final night, Mrs. Faulkner sat them down. "I hope this experience has taught you both that honesty is always the best policy."

Jake and Alex nodded in unison. "Yes, ma’am."

She smiled. "Good. Now, get some rest. Tomorrow, things go back to normal—but I expect you both to remember this lesson."

As they climbed into bed, they couldn’t help but feel relieved that their punishment was finally over—but they also knew they’d think twice before lying again.
