Ananya
Arjun has done so much for me, and I truly cherish every bit of it. Iâve also noticed how he tries to maintain his tough exterior, but after our dinner date, I want to do something for him too.
After returning from the bathroom, my eyes instinctively land on himâonly to notice the evident strain in his trousers once again. A surge of boldness washes over me as I step closer, my lips brushing against his ear.
"You made me so happy today, Arjun," I whisper, my fingers trailing down to his arousal, grazing it softly. "I want to make you happy too."
A shiver courses through him at my touch, his breath hitching. I donât know where Iâm finding the courage to do this, but right now, all I want is to see him unravel beneath me.
"Firefly, you donât have to," he says, his voice strained as he fights for control.
"I want to," I whisper back, and I mean every word.
Itâs not just Arjun whoâs affectedâhis heated gaze, his presence, everything about him ignites something deep within me. Iâve felt it before, but I was never brave enough to act on it. Until now.
And for once, Iâm glad I found the courage to take this step.
He closed the distance between us, his forehead pressing against mine as he fought to steady his breathing. His grip on control was slipping, I could feel it in the way his fingers twitched at his sides.
âYouâre playing with fire, Firefly,â he murmured, his voice rough, his lips hovering just a breath away from mine, teasing, tempting.
âAnd I donât care,â I whispered, my voice laced with defiance, breaking the last of his restraint.
A guttural sound rumbled in his chest, something primal, possessive.
âThen it should be me making you happy instead,â Arjun growled, his voice husky with need.
Before I could process his words, he yanked me into his lap, his strong arms caging me in. And then, his lips crashed onto mine.
There was nothing soft about this kiss. It was wild, desperateâlike heâd been holding himself back for too long and had finally lost the battle. His lips moved feverishly over mine, demanding, devouring. Heat coiled low in my belly, and I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer, needing more. I tried to match his pace, but he didnât let meâhe was in control, completely dominating me in the most intoxicating way.
A sharp nip to my bottom lip made me gasp, and he seized the opportunity, plunging his tongue into my mouth, exploring, tasting, claiming. A low groan vibrated through him when my fingers tangled into his hair, pulling him closer, and the sound sent a delicious shiver down my spine.
His hands roamed my back, his touch firm yet reverent, as if he couldnât get enough of me. He pulled away slightly, just enough to let his lips drag along my jawline, leaving a burning trail in their wake.
"You taste so damn good," he murmured, his voice thick with lust before his mouth descended to the curve of my neck.
My breath hitched as he pressed wet, open-mouthed kisses along my skin, his tongue flicking against the sensitive spot where my neck met my shoulder. A gasp escaped me when he sucked on the flesh, his teeth grazing lightly before he soothed the sting with his tongue.
"Arjun..." His name fell from my lips like a prayer, breathless, needy.
He groaned at the sound, his grip on me tightening as if he never wanted to let go. His lips continued their sinful journey down my throat, his breath hot against my skin.
"Tell me to stop," he murmured against my skin, though his hands betrayed his words as they explored my body with slow, deliberate strokes.
But stopping was the last thing I wanted.
"Don't stop," I whispered, my fingers tightening in his hair, pulling him back to me.
The fire between us burned hotter, threatening to consume us whole.
His lips found mine again, hungry and possessive, as if he couldnât get enough of me.
"You naughty girl..." he murmured against my lips, his voice thick with desire. His hand slipped into my pants, his fingers brushing against my bare skin, sending a violent shiver down my spine.
A low, guttural groan rumbled in his chest as he stilled for a moment, realizing the truth.
"Fuck," he breathed, his fingers tracing slow, teasing circles. "Already so wet for me, baby... And you're not even wearing anything underneath?"
Heat flared in my cheeks, but I refused to look away. "I donât like to wear underwearâ¦" I admitted in a whisper, my breath shaky.
His grip on me tightened. "You just ruined me with that information, Firefly," he rasped, his voice raw with need.
Before I could form a response, he thrust a finger inside me, making me gasp. My body arched instinctively, my hands clinging to his shoulders for support.
"Thatâs it," he murmured, his lips brushing against my jaw as he moved his fingers in slow, torturous strokes. "Let me feel you, baby. Let me make you fall apart for me."
His fingers moved inside me with slow, deliberate strokes, coaxing a response from my trembling body. My breath hitched as he curled his finger slightly, sending a new wave of sensations through me.
"Arjunâ¦" I gasped, gripping onto his shoulders as my body tensed.
He groaned at the sound of his name on my lips, his free hand cupping my face, his thumb brushing gently over my cheek. "Relax, Firefly," he murmured. "Let me take care of you."
Before I could process his words, he added another finger, stretching me further. A sharp gasp escaped me, my body instinctively tightening around him.
"AhhâArjun!" I cried out, my nails digging into his skin.
His lips pressed soothing kisses along my jawline as he slowed his movements. "Shh, baby. Breathe," he whispered, his voice tender yet laced with restraint. "Iâve got you."
A whimper left my lips as unfamiliar sensations built inside me, overwhelming and intense. "It feels⦠weird," I confessed between shaky moans, my body both tensed and craving more.
He stilled for a moment, his forehead pressing against mine. "Tell me to stop whenever you want to," he said softly, his dark eyes searching mine. "You are my wife, my Firefly. You can stop me anytime. If you donât like it or donât want it, just say the word, and Iâll stop immediately."
His words, filled with care and reassurance, made my heart clench. I swallowed hard, my grip on him tightening. "No⦠donât stop," I whispered, my cheeks burning.
His jaw tightened, and a deep, guttural groan rumbled in his chest. His restraint was hanging by a threadâI could feel it in the way his fingers flexed inside me, the way his breath turned ragged against my skin.
"Youâre testing every bit of my self-control, Firefly," he murmured, his voice dark and edged with desire.
Then, without warning, he resumed his slow, intoxicating rhythm, his fingers moving with precision, pushing me deeper into a whirlwind of sensations I had never known before. My body trembled, my breath hitching as unfamiliar pleasure coiled low in my stomach.
"Arjunâ¦" I moaned, my hands gripping his shoulders, seeking somethingâanythingâto anchor me.
"Thatâs it, baby," he coaxed, his lips brushing against my ear, his voice both soothing and utterly sinful. "Let yourself feel it. Let me hear you."
His fingers moved faster, the slick sound of my arousal filling the space between us. My body arched into him, heat pooling in my core as I gasped again, overwhelmed.
"Ahhâitâs too much," I whimpered, my thighs instinctively trying to close around his hand.
But Arjun wasnât having it. With a firm grip, he spread them apart again, his eyes locking onto mine. "Breathe, Firefly," he rasped, his other hand cradling my face. "I wonât let you fall."
His reassurance sent a new wave of warmth through me, melting any lingering hesitation. My body surrendered, letting him guide me through the unfamiliar territory.
"You feel so perfect," he groaned, his fingers plunging deeper, his pace unwavering. "So damn perfect for me."
My head fell back, a moan escaping my lips as the pleasure mounted, tightening, coiling, ready to snap. And with Arjun's name on my lips, I let go.
A wave of exhaustion washed over me, my body sinking deeper into Arjunâs warmth. My eyelids fluttered, too heavy to keep open, and before I even realized it, sleep claimed meâright there in his arms, with his touch still lingering on my skin.
I barely registered the way he sighed, his fingers brushing a few damp strands of hair away from my face. His movements were careful, tender, as he withdrew his hand, making sure I was comfortable. Gently, he cleaned me up, his touch reverent, before adjusting the sheets over my body.
"Sleep, Firefly," he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. "Iâll be right here."
And then everything faded into darkness.
Morning
A dull throbbing in my head pulled me from the depths of sleep. I groaned softly, my fingers instinctively reaching for Arjun, but the space beside me was empty. My brows furrowed as I forced my eyes open, squinting against the soft morning light filtering through the curtains.
Where is he?
Slowly, I turned my head, and there he wasâstanding by the window, his broad shoulders tense, his hands shoved into his pockets. He was staring outside, lost in thought, his jaw clenched as if he was battling something within himself.
"Arjunâ¦" My voice came out hoarse, heavy with sleep.
At the sound of his name, he turned instantly, his gaze softening. In just a few steps, he was by my side, sinking onto the edge of the bed. Without a word, he reached for the glass of water on the nightstand, holding it out for me.
"Drink this," he murmured, watching me intently.
I took the glass, sipping slowly, confusion swirling inside me. There was something in his expressionâsomething tight, almost pained.
"Arjun" I prompted, my voice laced with uncertainty.
He exhaled sharply, his fingers raking through his hair. "Iâm sorry, Firefly," he said, his voice heavy with guilt.
My brows knitted together. "Sorry? For what?"
He hesitated, his Adamâs apple bobbing as he swallowed. "For last night," he admitted, his gaze dropping to his lap. "I should have stopped. I shouldnât have let you⦠I shouldnât have lost control."
My breath caught in my throat. "Arjun, what are youâ"
"The hotel staff informed me this morning," he interrupted, his hands balling into fists. "They⦠they made a mistake with your food last night. They accidentally served you mushrooms that can induce a drunken state."
I froze. "What?"
"Thatâs why you were acting like that," he continued, his jaw tightening. "Thatâs why you were so bold, so uninhibited. You werenât completely yourself, Firefly. And Iâ" He exhaled sharply, shaking his head. "I should have noticed. I should have stopped you. But instead, Iâ¦" His voice trailed off, thick with remorse.
I stared at him, my mind spinning. The memories of last night flashed through my headâthe heat, the intensity, the way I had wanted him without hesitation. Every touch, every whispered word had felt so vivid, so consuming.
So, it was all because of the food?
A strange feeling settled in my chest. I had never felt that bold before, never had the courage to act on my desires so openly. No doubt those mushrooms had lowered my inhibitions, but did that mean what I felt wasnât real?
"Firefly, please say something," Arjun murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "IâI never want to take advantage of you. I never want you to regret anything with me."
The anguish in his tone made my heart clench.
"Arjunâ¦" I reached for his hand, squeezing it gently, trying to reassure him.
But he shook his head. "No," he said firmly, his jaw tight. "I should have been stronger. I should have realized something was wrong." His fingers tightened around mine, his grip both desperate and restrained. "I donât ever want to lose control like that again. Not unless you truly want me."
The raw sincerity in his voice sent a shiver through me. He wasn't just saying this out of guiltâhe truly meant it. He was willing to hold himself back, no matter how much he wanted me, just to make sure I was safe.
My throat tightened. I didnât regret last night. Not at all. But the fact that he cared this deeply, that he was putting my well-being before his own desires, made me see him in a way I never had before.
"Arjun, listen to me," I said, my voice steady, wanting him to understand. "I donât regret a single thing that happened between us last night."
His brows furrowed, his grip on my hand tightening slightly as if bracing himself.
I cupped his face, my thumbs brushing over his stubbled jaw. "Maybe the food had an effect on me, maybe it made me bolderâbut it didnât change what I felt. It only gave me the courage to put my feelings into words, to act on them. Nothing else." My voice softened as I added, "If it werenât for that, I might never have had the nerve to take that step and give in to what I already wanted."
His breath hitched, his stormy gaze locking onto mine, searchingâquestioning.
I held my ground, letting him see the truth in my eyes.
And in that moment, something between us shiftedâsomething deeper than just physical attraction. Something real.
Arjun
My Firefly was still sleeping peacefully in my arms when my phone buzzed, breaking the silence of the early morning. Careful not to wake her, I reached for it, frowning when I saw the call from the hotel management.
The moment I answered, my blood ran cold.
They were apologizingâfor a mistake. A mistake that involved the food they served us last night.
My grip on the phone tightened as the manager explained in a nervous tone. The dish Ananya ate had been made with a specific type of mushroomâone known to induce a drunken state.
My stomach twisted.
That was what Ananya had last night. Thatâs why she was so bold, so uninhibited. Thatâs why she touched me like that, said those things to me. And IâI took advantage of that?
"Fuck."
Guilt crashed into me like a tidal wave. I had been so caught up in my own desire, so lost in the way she surrendered to me, that I hadnât even realized she wasnât fully in her right mind. I should have noticed. I should have stopped.
Instead, I had let myself lose control. I finger fucked her. How could I?
I ran a frustrated hand through my hair, my jaw tightening as I looked down at her sleeping form. She looked so serene, completely unaware of the storm raging inside me.
What the hell should I do now?
As soon as she stirred, her lashes fluttering open, I didnât waste a second.
"Firefly," I said, my voice heavier than I intended. "Iâm sorry."
She blinked up at me, her brows knitting in confusion. "For what?"
"You have a headache, donât you?" I murmured, passing her a glass of water. As she took small sips, I hesitated, then finally exhaled. "The hotel called. They made a mistake with our food last night. The dish you ate contained mushrooms that induce a drunken state."
Her grip on the glass faltered slightly, and I took it from her before she could drop it. I watched as realization dawned in her eyes, the memories of last night likely piecing together in her mind.
"I never wanted you to regret anything between us," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "But now⦠you must, right? Because you werenât completely yourself when weâ"
Her next words stopped me in my tracks.
"I donât regret a single thing that happened between us last night."
I froze.
For a second, I thought I was hearing things. I searched her face for any sign that she was saying this just to make me feel better, but she held my gazeâsteady, unwavering.
Then, she added softly, "The food might have made me bolder, but it didnât change what I already wanted. If it werenât for that, I might never have had the nerve to take that step and give in to what I truly feel."
A sharp breath left my lips.
"You⦠you really donât regret it?" My voice was hoarse, like I was afraid of the answer.
She shook her head. "Never. Iâll never regret anything between us, Arjun."
A surge of relief flooded my chest, overwhelming me. Without thinking, I pulled her into my arms, holding her as tightly as I could without hurting her.
"Thank you," I whispered into her hair, my voice raw with emotion. "Thank you, Firefly⦠for not regretting it."
She hugged me back, her warmth melting the last traces of my guilt.
"But," I murmured, pulling back just enough to meet her eyes, "Iâll make sure that next time, it happens only when weâre both fully in our senses."
A small smile touched her lips as she nodded.
â¡â¡
We returned home the same day, just as Ananya wanted. She had been eager to leave, and I wasnât about to deny her.
As soon as we got back, she turned to me with that soft, determined look in her eyes. âArjun, I want to invite Pooja over. Itâs been so long since I spent time with her.â
I nodded. âOf course, Firefly. Sheâll be happy to see you.â
A small smile touched her lips before she added, âAnd⦠I was thinking we should invite Karan bhai too.â
I nearly scowled. Karan? I wasnât exactly thrilled about the idea. The man never missed a chance to annoy me, and I wasnât in the mood for his nonsense.
Seeing my expression, Ananya bit back a laugh. "Arjunâ¦" she said, her tone laced with authority. And damn, I loved that.
Karan was my best friend, but that didnât mean he didnât get on my nerves. The man lived to irritate me. But for Ananya, he was a brother figure, and if there was one thing I could truly appreciate about him, it was the way he cared for my Firefly like his own sister.
I let out a sigh of defeat, crossing my arms. "Yeah, yeah. Iâll tell him to come too. Happy now, Firefly?" I teased, reaching out to pinch her soft, fluffy cheeks.
Her smile widened, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Very."
And just like that, I couldnât help myself. Cupping her face, I leaned in, capturing her soft, pink lips in a slow, lingering kiss.
Because if there was one thing I loved more than anythingâit was making my Firefly happy.
My phone buzzed with an incoming call from Mom, pulling my gaze away from my Firefly. With a sigh, I answered, "Hi, Mom. How are you doing?"
But she wasted no time on greetings. "Go to your door. Iâve sent a birthday present for my daughter-in-law."
I chuckled. She really adored Ananya. Shaking my head, I walked to the door just as the delivery guy arrived with a packageâan envelope. I signed for it, and as I turned back, I met Ananyaâs confused gaze. I simply shrugged, signaling that I had no clue either.
Momâs voice came through the phone again. "Put the call on speaker."
I did as she asked. "Alright, it's on speaker."
"Anu beta, how are you?" she asked warmly.
Ananya smiled, stepping closer. "Iâm doing great, Mom. How are you?"
"Iâm good too, beta. Iâve sent a gift for you. Open the envelope."
Ananya carefully opened it, and the moment we saw what was inside, we froze.
Two tickets.
Before we could even react, Momâs excited voice rang out, "Your honeymoon tickets!"
We stared at each other, wide-eyed.
"I knew Arjun would never plan it himself, so I took the liberty of doing it for you!" Mom giggled from the other end, clearly pleased with herself.
"Mom, you really didnât have to do that," I tried to protest.
"Shut up," she scolded immediately. "Itâs for my Anu beta!"
I sighed, knowing there was no winning against her.
"Uh⦠thank you, Mom," Ananya said, a little awkwardly.
"Youâre welcome, beta. Enjoy my gift! Bye!" And just like that, she hung up.
Ananya and I stood there, still staring at each other. Finally, she broke the silence. "Itâs⦠Switzerland."
I cupped her face, my thumb gently brushing across her soft cheek. I could see it in her eyesâthe trust she had in me, the way she was slowly letting herself embrace her feelings and desires, little by little. But I didnât want to rush her. I never would.
Some things were meant to happen naturally, without force, without pressure. And with her, I was willing to wait for as long as it took.
"Firefly," I murmured, holding her gaze. "Think of it as a holiday tour. No pressure, no expectations. Weâll just go, explore, and make memories together." I finished with a wink, watching as her hesitation melted into a bright, breathtaking smile.
God, Iâd do anything to keep that smile on her face forever.
"Then weâll enjoy our holiday trip," she said, her excitement bubbling over. Then her eyes widened. "Oh God, we only have three days to prepare!"
I chuckled at how quickly she switched gears. "Weâll start now. And tomorrow, Karan and Pooja are coming overâPooja can help you with shopping."
"Right! Iâll tell her!"
I smiled as I watched her rush off, already making plans in her head.
My Firefly was an excited little bundle of energy.
I stood there for a moment, smirking.
Yeah⦠I was completely ruined for this woman.
â¡â¡
Ananya had been in the kitchen since morning, working tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect. She moved back and forth, checking dishes, adjusting decorations, and fussing over every little detail.
I leaned against the kitchen doorway, watching her with an amused smirk. My Firefly really doesnât know how to slow down, does she?
Finally, when she passed by me for what felt like the tenth time, I grabbed both her arms, halting her in place. "Fireflyâ¦" I murmured, looking into her eyes. "Everything is perfect. Now, take some rest, baby."
She opened her mouth to argue, but before she could say anything, the doorbell rang.
"Pooja is here!" she gasped excitedly, completely forgetting whatever she was about to say as she rushed toward the door.
I shook my head with a chuckle. Of course.
As soon as Ananya opened the door, Pooja stepped in with a dramatic sigh. "Finally! I thought I was going to die waiting outside!"
Ananya rolled her eyes, laughing. "Drama queen."
Pooja flipped her hair. "Excuse you, it's called making an entrance." Then her eyes landed on me, and a mischievous smirk spread across her lips. "Oh, hello, dear Jiju!"
I raised an eyebrow. "I donât like that tone."
She gasped, faking innocence. "What tone? Iâm just so happy to see my favorite couple!" Then she turned to Ananya, wiggling her eyebrows. "So, howâs married life, hmm? Keeping you busy, is he?"
Ananyaâs face turned red instantly. "Pooja!" she hissed, smacking her arm.
Pooja burst out laughing. "Oh God, that reaction! I swear, teasing you two is my new favorite hobby."
Ananya huffed and crossed her arms. "If youâre done embarrassing me, I actually also needed your help with something important."
Pooja leaned closer. "Ooooh, is it baby shopping?"
"Pooja!!"
"Okay, okay, Iâm kidding!" She laughed before tilting her head. "So, what is it?"
Ananya exhaled, shaking her head. "Weâre going to Switzerland in two days, and I need your help with shopping."
Poojaâs eyes widened in excitement. "Wait, what?! A honeymoon in Switzerland?! Damn, Jiju is finally stepping up his game!"
Ananya looked at me for help, but I just smirked. "I did say it's just a holiday trip, Firefly. No pressure, remember?"
Pooja rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, âjust a holiday trip.â" She made air quotes. "Tell me another one, Jiju."
Ananya groaned. "Can we please focus on the shopping part?"
"Fine, fine, babydoll. But donât think youâre escaping my interrogation about this âholiday trip.â"
I shook my head, amused. Pooja was relentless.
Just then, the doorbell rang again.
Ananya opened the door, and in walked Karan, his usual confident smirk in place.
"Yo, lovebirds," he greeted before pulling Ananya into a side hug. "Missed you, little sis."
Ananya smiled. "Missed you too, Karan bhai."
Then he turned to me, giving me a smirk. "And you, Mr. CEO. Still keeping my little sister happy, I hope?"
I crossed my arms. "You hope? Karan, I guarantee it."
"Good," he said, nodding approvingly before stepping inside.
Meanwhile, Pooja, who had been watching silently, leaned close to Ananya and whispered, "Why did you invite him?"
Ananya sighed. "Poojaâ¦"
Pooja scrunched her nose. "I hate him."
As if on cue, Karanâs gaze landed on Pooja, and his smirk deepened. "Ah, Pooja, looking gorgeous as always."
She scoffed. "Donât start, Karan."
He placed a hand over his heart dramatically. "What? Canât a man appreciate beauty when he sees it?"
Pooja rolled her eyes. "Ugh. I knew coming here was a mistake."
"But youâre still here," Karan teased, stepping closer. "Admit it, you like having me around."
Pooja narrowed her eyes. "Iâd rather eat a spoonful of salt."
Ananya whispered to me, "This is going to be fun to watch."
I smirked. "Oh, definitely."
With Pooja and Karan in the same room, chaos was inevitable. Their banter was entertaining, sure, but my attention was locked on only one personâmy Firefly.
Everything else? Doesn't ât matters.
I donât give a damn about anything else when she is near.
Ananya
After all the teasing and playful flirting between Karan Bhai and Pooja, we finally settled down for lunch. I sat across from Arjun, with Karan Bhai beside him and Pooja beside me, directly opposite Karan Bhai.
There was something between themâsomething neither of them acknowledged, and something I couldnât quite put my finger on either.
I served food to everyone despite Karan Bhaiâs protests, but I wanted to do it. As we ate, I noticed he wasnât eating much.
âWhat happened, Karan Bhai? Donât you like the food?â I asked, concerned.
Before he could respond, Pooja chimed in, âCome on, Annu. Youâre an amazing cook. If someone doesnât eat, thatâs his loss.â She shot a pointed side-eye at Karan Bhai, making him straighten up instantly.
âNo, no! Itâs not like that, Ananya,â he said quickly, flashing a smile. âThe food is amazing. I love it.â
Arjun, who had been silently watching, spoke up. âFirefly, he always eats like this. Donât worry. Heâs impossible.â
I caught the subtle exchange of glances between Arjun and Karan Bhaiâsomething unspoken passing between them. It wasnât my place to ask, and whatever it was, Arjun clearly knew about it.
And if it was something Karan Bhai wanted to keep between them, I would respect that.
After that we went for shopping together for our Switzerland trip. The day passed in fun , teasing, flirting and shopping. Karan bhai and Pooja said bye to us. And Karan bhai insist on dropping Pooja to her home as it was already dark. At first Pooja declined and argued but at last she agreed and let him drop her to her home. I and Arjun also got ready for going to bed. I'm so tired. We will be going to Switzerland in 2 days. When I saw mom's gift I was puzzled a little. It's not like I'm uncomfortable or don't want to go. I was just...I don't know what I was thinking but whatever it was Arjun took care of it perfectly. And I really appreciate that. Right now all I want it to sleep in his arms as I'm tired. I think I'm getting habitual of this.
As soon as we go to bed Arjun pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arms around me and said "You must be tired. Go to sleep Firefly. Good night. "
I wrapped my arms around his waist and nuzzled in his neck after saying "good night " to him.
After that, we all went shopping together for our Switzerland trip. The day was filled with laughter, teasing, playful flirting, and, of course, lots of shopping. Time passed quickly in their company, and soon, it was time to say goodbye.
Karan Bhai and Pooja bid us farewell, but before leaving, he insisted on dropping her home since it was already dark. As expected, Pooja initially refused, arguing with him as usual, but after some back-and-forth, she finally gave in, huffing in defeat.
Once they left, Arjun and I got ready for bed. I was exhausted from the long day. In just two days, we would be flying to Switzerland, and as I glanced at Momâs giftâthe ticketsâI felt a mix of emotions. It wasnât that I was uncomfortable or didnât want to go. It was just⦠I wasnât sure what I was feeling. But whatever doubts I had, Arjun had handled them effortlessly, making sure I never felt pressured. And for that, I truly appreciated him.
Right now, all I wanted was to sleepâwrapped in his warmth, in his arms. I think⦠I was getting used to this, to him.
As soon as we lay down, Arjun pulled me close, wrapping his strong arms around me. His voice was low and soothing as he murmured, âYou must be tired. Go to sleep, Firefly. Good night.â
Smiling softly, I wrapped my arms around his waist, burying my face in the crook of his neck. His scent was comforting, familiar.
âGood night, Arjun,â I whispered against his skin, feeling my exhaustion melt into his embrace.
And just like that, wrapped in his warmth, I drifted into a peaceful sleep.
The two days passed in a blur of last-minute shopping, packing, and making sure everything was in place before we left. Arjun, being his usual calm and composed self, finished his packing in less than an hour. Meanwhile, I spent an entire evening deciding what to take, only to end up packing more than necessary.
Now, finally, the day had arrived.
Standing in front of our luggage, I took a deep breath, excitement bubbling in my chest. I was going to Switzerland! It still felt surreal.
Arjun walked up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his chin on my shoulder. âFirefly, stop overthinking. Weâre going on a trip, not moving there permanently,â he teased, his breath tickling my skin.
I pouted. âIâm just making sure we have everything.â
He chuckled. âAnd by âeverything,â you mean half our wardrobe?â
I swatted his arm playfully. âHey! A girl needs options.â
He let out a mock sigh, shaking his head. âOf course, my dramatic Firefly.â
Before I could respond, the sound of a car horn echoed outside.
âOur rideâs here.â
I turned to him, my eyes sparkling. âSwitzerland, here we come!â
Arjun smirked, grabbing our bags effortlessly while I picked up my handbag. âLetâs go, Mrs. Malhotra. Time to create some unforgettable memories.â
With that, we stepped out, ready for the adventure ahead.
