Aditya's POVIt was Sanjana.I was dumbfounded when I saw her.How could this happen?  I felt as if my heart stopped beating for a second.I tightly gripped my phone, I was really feeling blue. I heard Anika  saying," Sanjana is the bride".I felt as if my whole blood was drawn from my body, I felt really weak at that time, how can this happen??All these years,I never had any feelings for any girl, Sanjana is the first girl who filled my heart, now she is getting engaged.I felt I am stupid to not express my feelings to her, I was late.I ran my fingers into my hair,I never felt so weak in my life even ,when taking tough decisions in the business.I had an urge to run to her and say," Sanjana, I can't live without you, please marry me." I had tears in my eyes ,but controlled them.When I was in my thoughts, I heard Anika saying, "there is something happening over there, looks like there is some problem".When I heard her, I slowly walked towards the crowd.*******Sanjana's povWhen I came on to the stage, I felt nervous. I know everyone's gaze is on me.When I raised my head, I saw Vihaan's smiling face.I smiled at him but my eyes were Searching for my mom.I saw mom and Mamta  aunty discussing something with Vihaan's parents.I felt something was not well. I called Nidhi and said," I could see tension on mom's face, just go look at what's happening there."Engagement ceremony hadn't started yet because my mom and Vihaan's parents were discussing something.Few minutes later,  Nidhi came back and said, " Sanjana , Vihaan's parents are asking for dowry".I was flabbergasted when I heard her.I glared at Vihaan and ran towards my mom.I heard my mom saying to Vihaan's father," Brother, Sanjana is my only child, after me, the house will be anyways hers , then why do you want me to give this house in dowry now itself and you didn't mention anything about the gold, money and house earlier. How can you make  sudden demands at the last minute?"Sister, How could you think we will marry your daughter without dowry,  my son is well educated , has a good job in Mehta groups, earns lakhs of money every month, can't we expect little dowry, what's wrong in it??, we are not beggars to marry your daughter without dowry, if you can't give money then we are sorry ,this wedding will not happen." Vihaan's father replied.seeing the gathering Vihaan also came near the group.I lost my mind when I heard,Vihaan's father."Yes  ,you are a beggar in a  suit, I grabbed Vihaan's hand pulled him to the centre and said, you better write the amount you are willing take in the form of dowry on the slate and hang it in his neck, anyone who is willing to pay will buy him, and I am not interested in buying your son.""Stop it Sanjana, you are making things complicated',  Vihaan said aggressively.I am making things complicated, Vihaan, it's your family who is doing this. If you would have demanded money the day you came to see me, I would have said, " No" on the same dayYou are demanding dowry when we are about to get engaged ,so that my mom can't refuse in front of so many people and will agree to your demands ,this was your plan right?""Sanjana ,it's not like what you think", Vihaan tried to explain." Vihaan , I agreed to marry you,only because you said you will help me in taking   care of my mom and you said  your family will never object it, now your family is ready to make my mom homeless by asking the  house in the form of  dowry, which I will never agree even if my mom agrees.In front of  everyone I call off this engagement", I declared.Everyone present there were dumbfounded when they heard me.my mom collapsed on the chair when she heard me. she started sobbing.Vihaan stood dumbfounded for a while and said, "   I agree my parents did the wrong thing ,but please don't call off the engagement, you know how much I love you, please Sanjana , he pleaded." Vihaan, enough will you not find any girls to get married??, I will search for a more beautiful bride than her , just shut your mouth and come with me" , his mom dragged him."Mom, please , don't say that, you know I like her".."Vihaan ,if you don't come with me now, I will kill myself by hang myself to the   fan in the same hall. marry her on my dead body, the girl who doesn't know how to speak with elders is not fit to become  daughter-in- law of our family", She said in an irritated tone.She dragged Vihaan out of the hall.My eyes were filled with tears ,when he left. Everything changed in a few minutes.Few people present in the hall were judging me for my behaviour and few were praising me for my bold behaviour.There was a mixed response in the crowd.Slowly everyone left. I saw my mom crying and Mamta aunty consoling her.I kneeled down and said ," Mom", she slapped me hard."How many times have I told you Sanjana  not  to talk when elders are talking, won't it get into your brain, I was talking to them, why did you come in between ??  you created this whole mess" She shouted at me." She did nothing wrong aunty, I feel I should really applaud her for her strong behaviour, she stood by her ethics .A person who can demand money now  will demand in future too, they  asked for a house just before engagement, what if they demand something else just before wedding??? which  you can't afford. it's better to get rid of such people at the beginning, so don't blame Sanjana for this ", Aditya said.I was shocked to see him here. I  didn't expect him to come here. I later guessed he might have come with Mamta aunty."Yes Rekha, what she did was absolutely correct, don't blame Sanjana for this.", Mamta aunty  tried to explain.Anika, Nidhi and even Ashish supported my decision..My mom hugged me and said," Sorry Sanjana, I was repulsive just now, I lost  my  senses when you broke the engagement, I am sorry  for hitting you and bringing such an alliance "After crying for some time in each other's arms ,my mom slowly came back to her senses.
