Chapter 19: chapter 19

Aditya's POVI was busy the whole morning .During the lunch break when I was little free I called Sanjana. Asking about Rekha aunty was just an alibi, I wanted to hear her  voice.After few rings she lifted the call," Hai, Sanjana, how is aunty?""She is better"" Did you eat?", I asked." Yes sir, just now my  friend has come , she brought lunch for me".she replied.I didn't know what to say next, so I said," ok take care ,I will visit aunty in the evening".She replied with "hmmm" and I unwillingly disconnected the call.In the evening, I left the office quickly, took my laptop along with me ,so that I could work in the hospital if required.When I entered the ward,two girls were sitting across the coffee table and were  whispering ,so that they wouldn't disturb Rekha  aunty, whereas aunty was sleeping peacefully.Two girls stood up and became stiff when they saw me .their expression came to normal when I smiled at them.I signalled them to carry on and I sat on the couch, opened my laptop  and started working.Soon  after, Aunty woke up. Sanjana introduced her friend to me as " Nidhi".Nidhi left after some time.As usual, Sanjana and I didn't speak , we ate dinner in silence and slept in our respective places.For the past four  days, it became my routine and I felt Sanjana is getting a little comfortable with me.we didn't talk much in these two days ,but felt I am getting so much attached to her..The fifth day, I was struck in the meeting in the office, so I called Sanjana and said," Sanjana, I may not come today, is it ok for you, can you manage??"There was silence at the other end." Hello, Sanjana, can you hear me".I checked my phone for a signal.I heard a low voice saying, " ok sir, I will manage, you take care." and she cut the call.Why do I feel there is disappointment in her Voice, is she really missing me, the thought itself was driving me crazy.By the time I finished it was late night , but still I drove my car towards the hospital.When I entered the ward, the room lights were dim and  I saw aunty sleeping  and a slim girl standing near the window as if she was thinking of something..."Sanjana" , I called her slowly..She slowly turned her head, her eyes twinkled when she saw me and a smile appeared on her lips.she came near me and whispered so that she doesn't disturb her mom's sleep." sir, you said, you will not come today".I could  feel excitement in her voice.I wish I could hug her and ask whether she missed me. but controlled myself because her mom is present in the room..I looked straight into her eyes and asked," Why didn't you sleep?,it's already late ".She didn't speak  and stared at me, as if she is lost in my eyes. I could feel there is something she wants to say to me."nothing sir, I was about to go to sleep, she replied and turned around."Before she can move away, I grabbed her hand.She stood still without turning and my heart started fluttering. I  decided to  pull her towards me, but   heard the turn of the door knob. I immediately left her hand. It was nurse, she came inside to check the IV dip of Rekha aunty.I sat on the sofa and she on her bed.she didn't look at me at all,after that.I didn't understand what she is thinking, I couldn't even see her face from distance as it is little dim.I leaned back on the sofa, and closed my eyes.Sanjana's POVI was getting used to his presence. I started waiting  for him like a wife waiting for her husband to come back from office.Everyday,he brings food for dinner while coming and we use eat silently without saying much.Even mom started liking Aditya. he cracks jokes in between which makes mom smile.I felt as if he is part of my family.and every day, Mamta  aunty and Nidhi are  visiting us.with all the care from doctors , Mom's health condition  improved. They said they will discharge  mom tomorrow.I felt happy for a second, which means we can go home tomorrow.But next second I felt sad, because Aditya will not visit us anymore, may be today is the last day, I will be  seeing him.I started waiting for him eagerly, my eyes were fixed on the door, for every door turn knob, I felt he has come. but to my disappointment, he didn't come. but his call has come saying, he has a meeting and cannot come to hospital today,  Sadness filled my heart for a second, and tears were filled in my eyes, but controlled myself and said," I will take care".I didn't want to expose myself to him , so quickly I cut the call.I couldn't sleep in the night, I was really missing his presence in the room, I stood near the window staring the moon far away.." Sanjana, he is like a moon, you can just admire him but you can't get him". I said to myself.Suddenly I heard, someone calling my name, it was his voice, that was a surprise for me, I couldn't control my happiness in my eyes.when he asked why didn't I sleep, I didn't have any answer so I said," Nothing" and turned around, but he grabbed my hand, I felt my heart will fell to the ground any moment. I was blushing and breathing heavily, luckily he couldn't see my face, I wanted his touch for ever but my dream shattered when I heard the door knob.He immediately left my hand, and I stood straight when I saw the nurse coming in.When she left, I didn't dare to look in to his eyes, I don't know what he is thinking right now, why did he suddenly grab my hand, my heart was in a mess, I just went to my bed , without looking at him,  closed my eyes tightly and acted as if I am asleep.after half an hour, when I saw he is asleep, I  started admiring his features for a while and blushed. May be I will not be able to see him again so closely in the future. this thought made me feel sad.I sighed and got down from the bed, to go to the washroom, I felt someone dragged me into the washroom and closed the door .I was pinned to the wall,  I didn't open my eyes,I know who it is.I was struck in between him and the wall.He was just few centimetres away from me, I could feel his breath on me, and his cologne was driving me crazy.my heart started pumping heavily. He put his mouth  near  my  ears and whispered " Sanjana,look at me".I slowly opened my eyes and looked into his.We stared each other for few minutes. we didn't know what we were searching in each others eyes..He slowly put my hair strands behind my  ears and asked ," Did you miss me??"I could feel his piercing gaze on me.I looked down and said," No"."Look into my eyes and say you didn't miss me", his voice was like a melody for me.I couldn't answer, I don't know what to sayHe said, if you are silent, it means you have agreed.I blushed hearing him..He smiled seductively and moved away from me and unlocked the door.I ran out of the bathroom like a bullet from the gun.I quickly laid on the bed and covered my face with the quilt.I started imagining what happened to me just now and I couldn't control my smile. I started blushing.I don't know, how will I face him tomorrow morning.
