Okay, let me just start of by saying I didn't wish for any of this to happen; my name is Chloe Fisher; my mom cheated on my father when I was young. They got a divorce and my father and I moved out. We'd been living in a run down apartment for about 5 years and I absolutely despised the place.
My dad has recently gotten married to a rich bitch that I fucking hate. I hate the idea of moving in with her and her son. but I will do it to make my father happy. Ever since I can remember I've lived in Memphis, Texas, but now my dad has shipped us out to California!
This isn't fair!
As we arrive at the large house that looks too big to just house 2 people I grab a few boxes and take them inside without hesitation. I don't like this one bit but if it makes my dad happy than I will gladly oblige; at least he's not still with my slut of a mother.
"Everything will be okay pumpkin, you'll see." My dad pats me on the back and runs out to get more boxes from the moving truck.
"Thanks for the encouragement dad, but I think that I better start unpacking my things. Do you know where Veronica said my room is?" I ask flinging my book bag over my shoulder.
"Um, no. You could ask Finley though, after all you two are step siblings now." I roll my eyes. I would rather not talk to my step brother.
"Did I hear someone mention my name?" Finley. I take in a breath and put on a smile. A very fake smile.
"I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of my new room." I say hoping my dad doesn't pick up on my faking.
"Yeah sure follow me this way." He says turning on his heels and leading me down a hall.
We stop at a door and my head just tells me to move away from Finley but my body won't move. What is up with this?!
"This is your room." He says opening the door. "I'm right down the hall if you need anything." And with that he walks away.
Maybe this won't be so bad...
"Chloe, by the way, I'm having some..." I can tell he's thinking of a word to use. "Friends over tonight, so please don't bother us." And I spoke to soon.
"What do you mean by friends?" I ask curiously. I don't know if I should be worried about him having friends over.
"God Chloe, I'm shocked with you lack of faith in me but if you must know they're all guys and they're friends from school and around the city." He clarifies.
Thank the lord that he's not having girls over because he's right, I don't trust him, so honestly if there were girls in the house I can only imagine a few things that he would be doing with them and studying isn't one of them.
I walk into the room Finley said was mine and stop dead in my tracks. This room is huge. It's so much bigger than the room I had at the apartment. How am I going to get enough things to fill up this room with?
"You better get use to having a mom around because she's always wanted a girl to spoil rotten." Finley says scaring the crap out of me and causing me to jump back at least five feet.
"Did I scare you?" He laughs as I huff.
"Yes you did and lets get this straight, I'm only doing this because my father loves your mom and I want to see him happy. I don't like your mom and I don't like you." It's out there now, plain as day and I'm sure glad that it is too.
"That hurts sis." He places his hand over his heart and makes a pouty face.
I roll my eyes and push him from the room and slam the door in his face. He needs to stay the fuck away from me or he'll see just how tough I really am.
I mean it.
~*~4 HOURS LATER~*~
Some of Finley's friends start to arrive and as I hear them walk and talk down the hall I feel the fear that one of them, is going to walk in on me. Although I'm not too sure as to what I'm doing to be worried about because all I'm doing is video-chatting with my best friends from back home.
"I swear Grace, Finley is just so weird and you should see the size of my new room like honestly, you could fit five of my old one in here." I say looking around once again.
"It's just so not fair, you get to go live in like a palace and I'm stuck in Memphis. Oh my god! Idea!" Grace shrieks.
"Seriously calm it, I don't know what I would do if one of the billion people in this house came in and saw me eating chocolate in my PJ's and video chatting. Honestly, if that isn't total stareotypical girl move than I don't know what is." I roll my eyes and she just laughs.
"Whatever, you know you secretly want one of them to walk in on you like this. Anyways, back to my idea, think you can get Emily and Lucy on?" She gives me a sly look and I think I may know just what she's up to.
I type in Emily's username and Lucy's username and pray that they pick up.
With all the luck in the world they do.
"Oh my gosh Chloe, it's so good to hear from you again! I mean, like, I thought you forget about us!" Emily screams.
"Guys! Be quiet! Chloe would die if one of the billions of hot guys walked into her room while she is video chatting with her three homies." Grace mocks me and all four of us break out laughing. "So, now for my master plan. Chloe you should fly out and come get us and bring us to you super awesome new place with your sexy new brother." Grace wiggles her eyebrows and we all start laughing again.
"Please if you knew him you would want to throw up. And he's my step brother." I put emphisis on the step.
"Okay, so I'll chat with you ladies once I get the okay from my dad and Veronica." I say and shut my laptop.
I open my bed room door and start to walk out when I bump into something. I just about fall on my ass when a hand catches mine and holds me up.
"Thanks." I say as I gaze into the strangers eyes.
"For what?" He asks returning my gaze.
"For not letting me fall on my ass." I say pulling myself up.
"Well than, your very welcome." He smirks and all I can do is stare at his perfect smile.
"I'm Chloe, I guess I live here now." I look down at my feet and know that sooner or later I'm going to have to face the facts that this will be my new home until I am able to move out on my own.
"Nice to meet you Chloe, I'm William." With that he lets go of my hand and walks out of the hall and into Finley's room.
I stand speckless and motionless in front of my bed room door. I can feel flames where William's hand was just on mine and I can't stop smiling.
What the hell just happened?
I wake myself up from the trance and start to walk once again. Remember, I'm on a mission and I will not take no for an answer. My friends need to see where I live and they need to know that Finley is a complete ass.
I walk into the kitchen and see Veronica and my dad sitting at a table talking and drinking something in a mug. As I just stand there I contemplate telling them about my odd encounter by my room but if I told them they probably won't let me have my friends come.
"So, I came here to ask you guys a big favour." I stretch out the word big.
"Okay, what's the favour?" Dad asks.
"I was wondering if maybe we can fly to Memphis and I can bring Grace, Emily, and Lucy for a couple weeks after all school starts back up in a month." I try my best to sound convincing.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea Chloe, you can fly out in he privet jet tomorrow if their parents are okay with it all." Veronica chimes.
"I'm sorry, the what?" I say referring to the words private jet.
"Privet jet honey. But you must take Finley, Max and William with you." Veronica says in a sweet tone.
I actually think she's growing on me.
I start to walk but stop mid-step. Did Veronica say William?
