212 I Donât Set You Up
âDonât scare me. Iâve worked hard for so long to join the secretary team!â
âIs hard work more important than a pretty face? Didnât you see that Mr. Joseph asked her to bring a table and work with him? Itâs obvious that they are close!â
âHeavens? You mean...â
âYou canât judge a person by appearance. That girl looked pure and innocent, but she may be tricky privately.â
The door was half-open. Isabella had already placed her hand on the door handle. When she heard that the people talked about her inside, she felt embarrassed and didnât know whether she should come in or leave.
The three people inside were the members of the secretary team who had been following behind Selina just now. Isabella had thought they were honest and gentle.
âIf you spend more time on work, you donât have to worry about being replaced by Isabella.â
Suddenly, someone came from behind and pushed the door open. Isabella turned around and saw Selina.
The other three secretaries said awkwardly, âLeader!â
.....
When they saw Selina, they were stunned. Then they saw Isabella beside Selina and they were shocked again. Thus, they hurriedly made excuses and left the water heater room.
Then Selina said, âAre you here to make coffee for Mr. Joseph?â
âYes,â Isabella replied.
Isabella turned to look at the three people who had run away hurriedly and thought for a while.
Selina said, âMr. Joseph put the ground coffee in this special cabinet. This is the cup he likes.â
Then Selina looked at Isabella and continued, âDonât mind it. They are just afraid of losing their jobs, and this isnât about you. Women always like to gossip when they are together. You will understand it when you work in the future.â
Isabella said awkwardly, âIâm not here to take their place.â
âI just want to visit and study here.â
âI see,â Selina said.
Selina smiled, looked at her watch, and then said, âItâs eight oâclock now. You have to make coffee and give it to Mr. Joseph before the meeting at 8:30. Coffee and milk ratio of 3:1, and a piece of sugar.â
Isabella looked at Selina with admiration and said, âYouâre amazing. You even know such details.â
Selina said, âThe most important thing to be a secretary is to be considerate. We should deal with all the details so that the boss will have no worries.â
Selina made another two cups of instant coffee and generously handed a cup to Isabella. She said with a smile, âCome on, be good to yourself. Drink a cup and you will be in high spirits the entire morning. Ask me if you have any questions.â
âThank you!â Isabella said happily.
At 8:20, Isabella returned to the presidentâs office with a cup of coffee. Selina was standing next to Joseph, telling him the content of the meeting in detail.
Selina leaned forward with her long and wavy hair tumbling down over Josephâs shoulders. She pointed at the documents with her slender fingers, occasionally turning to look at Joseph, who was nodding repeatedly.
They were very close.
Isabella suddenly felt a little unhappy.
Joseph probably noticed that Isabella entered the door. He looked up at Isabella and said, âWhat are you waiting for? Bring it over.â
Selina also looked at Isabella encouragingly.
Then Isabella immediately handed Joseph this coffee.
Joseph took a sip as he listened to Selina. Then he immediately took out a tissue to cover his mouth and frowned.
While Isabella was still in a daze, Selina had already taken the tissue that Joseph had used. Then she took out two more, handed them to Joseph, and said, âAre you alright, Mr. Joseph?â
Joseph immediately glared at Isabella and said angrily, âIsabella, this is too hot! And this, how much coffee did you put? Itâs too bitter, much too bitter!â
Selina immediately picked up the cup that Joseph had drunk and took a sip, then pursed her lips and said, âIsabella, how many spoons of ground coffee did you use?â
âFour spoons,â Isabella replied.
Although Isabella had done such things to irritate Joseph quite often, she felt very guilty when she saw that Joseph got annoyed. After all, it was working time now, and this was Isabellaâs first job. Then she explained, âI saw that the color of the coffee was a bit light, so...â
âI canât drink it!â Joseph said angrily.
Joseph pushed the coffee cup away in a huff and then he said, âSelina, continue.â
Selina glanced at Isabella and draw the number â2â with her fingers. Then Selina lowered her head and talk to Joseph. Isabella immediately understood it and scurried to the water heater room to make coffee.
It was a pity that Joseph had been in the conference after Isabella made coffee.
Isabella looked at the translucent conference room and saw that Selina was helping Joseph hand over the materials methodically. Then she suddenly felt that she was very useless.
She returned to the presidentâs office and saw that the desk was covered with a litter of documents, so she went up and carefully sorted them in order.
Suddenly, Isabella felt pain in her lower abdomen, and then the heat flew out from her private part.
âDamn! Why do I have to say that?â she said.
Isabella covered her stomach and immediately took out the tissue in the nearby box. Then she ran to the bathroom. Not unexpectedly, she got her period earlier.
She said, âI jinxed it.â
Isabella was speechless. When she went out, she saw Gerry and asked him about the location of the convenience store and pharmacy. Then she quickly ran to the shopping mall that was across the street from the Globe Building, and she returned after buying sanitary pads and painkillers.
Just as Isabella opened the door to the presidentâs office, she saw Joseph pound the desk and snap at a secretary, âI asked you to classify the documents and place them on my desk. I will directly send them to the cooperation company after the meeting. Have you forgotten? As a secretary, you even forgot the task that I assigned 40 minutes ago. If you have a bad memory, go back to the original department to work! The secretary group will not take in waste!â
âNo! Mr. Joseph, I did it. I donât know who set me up designedly. How can I forget your task?â
âSet you up designedly!â
Joseph picked up the phone and quickly dialed a number, âIs this personal department? Arrange a new secretary for me tomorrow. I need someone with a good memory.â
Isabella looked at the white documents on the ground which Selina was anxiously picking up. Then she suddenly thought of something.
âAre those documents originally piled up on the desk just now?â Isabella asked.
Isabella had an intuition that she got into trouble, but she bit the bullet to ask.
Everyone paused, and the secretary immediately cried, âJust now, Mr. Joseph was in conference, and only you could come in and out of here freely. Did you set me up?â
When Isabella saw that the secretary burst into tears, she said in shock, âIâm sorry, I just wanted to file papers. I didnât mean it.â
Isabella immediately looked at Joseph and said, âMr. Joseph, itâs my fault. Can you forgive her and not fire her? I can prove that the documents were sorted out before!â
Joseph raised his eyes to look at Isabella. He frowned and said with a sullen face, âSo it was you who did this. Iâve told you to mind your own business and do whatever I told you to do.â
