I couldn't have Liam come over yet, not while I was working on a surprise for him. I don't necessarily want to spring something so grand on him right now. Especially since he's only a senior, well he will be once summer is over.
As for me, I'm getting ready for college. What I didn't know was I got accepted into my dream college, the one not near Beacon Hills. It was a 6 hour drive away and I decided to turn it down so I could be there for Liam.
What he didn't know couldn't hurt him, right?
That's why I turned down my "dream college". Until they came back with a new offer. They're going to give me a full scholarship for my first year of enrollment there.
That's the troubling position I'm in. My dream college is offering me a paid first year, but my dream guy would be 6 hours away in Beacon Hills.
Sure I could always reject the college and go to the one Liam knows about, the one right by Beacon Hills, but this is my dream. Surely everyone should follow their dream.
Right?
They've got the best programs in the area. Liam would be crushed. That's why I've mapped out this big surprise.

I texted Liam, telling him he could come over now. I paced back and forth in my living room, anticipating every heartbeat I heard.
After an excruciating 3 minutes, Liam walked in. "Hey Liam!" I shouted and ran over to him. "Hey, you doing alright?" Liams voice raised concern for my, slightly, crazy behavior.
"Yeah, yeah yeah" I twitch my head slightly as I sigh out one more "yeah."
Liam scrunches his eyebrows in confusion but ended up shrugging it off as normal. "Want something to drink?" He called out from the kitchen.
"I guess a wa-" I paused, eyes wide open, realizing what I left in the kitchen. "no Liam come out here!"
He slowly walked out with an envelope in his hands. "This isn't the college you told me you were going to." He whispered.
"Liam I- I" I stuttered effortlessly before confessing. "I wasn't planning on going, so I could be with you. Then they came back with an offer to give me a full scholarship for my first year."
"You have to go."
I looked up and blinked. Three times. "W-What?" I ask in disbelief. "Theo its an opportunity of a life time!" Liam smiles.
"Liam it's 6 hours away..." I trail on. His smile wears off his face. "See? That's why I can't go. I can't be away from you."
Liam walked over and sat down on the couch, processing this new information. "It's only a year. Then I'll be out of high school and I won't have to stay here." Liam's smile broke out again.
"I can't make you wait a year just for me. I don't want to spend a year away from you either." I told him, shutting down his ideas.
"Yeah but you can't put off your dreams for me."
I picked up the letter and decided to scan it over again. The same lines over and over, the only words that stood out to me.
"Although application deadlines were due three weeks ago, we'd be happy for you to enlist in the following school year with a full paid scholarship."
I set down the letter. "Come with me." I told Liam. "Theo I have school, I- I can't. You know I would if I could baby." He shoots me a sympathetic smile.
"Next year. I missed the dead line and this is all happening next fall, not this fall. You'll be out of school by then so.... come with me." I stand up in excitement.
"I don't know Theo this is all being planned so quickly. We're talking about a year from now!" Liam stood up with me.
"Think about it Liam, you and me. We could live together, away from here. Live with little Athena and other future pets we may take in. Living life just you and I, sleeping with the door closed for once." I chucked at the little detail. "Doing whatever we want to do because no one else is there to tell us otherwise. It's something new. A new start, together!"
Liam looked at me frantically.

(time jump: 1 hour later at Scott's house)
Everyone was at Scott's, talking among the group before Liam and I stood up in front of everyone.
"We have an announcement to make." I spoke up.
"We're moving in together!" Liam yelled.
"WHAT?" Everyone shouted in unison.
"Not now but in a year from now, we'll be living together!"
