Chapter 8

" Anger Issues."

Rochelle Quinn's POV:

"Why was you with Eaton?" Kace demanded as soon as we walked through the front door.

"Ain't got shit to do with you." I rolled my eyes and began to make my way up the stairs, taking two steps at a time.

"He's trouble." Kane called out.

I laughed at them, flipping my middle finger up. "I'm well aware of that."

I went up to my room and sat on my bed. Putting in my earphones, I began to listen to my Spotify playlist with Immortals by Fall Out Boy playing loudly.

A knock on the room made me pull out one of my earphones, shouting a quick 'Come in'.

Keegan and Kade came into my room, sitting on the edge of my bed. I pulled out both my earphones suspiciously and put them on the side, waiting for the brothers to say something.

"How do you know Jesse?" Kade asked nonchalantly, glancing at me quickly before moving his gaze to the gentle bed sheets.

"I should be asking you the same question." I replied roughly, keeping all sources of information away from my answer.

"We asked you first." I shrugged at Keegan, basically telling him that I wasn't going to answer.

"The twins were best friends with a guy called Tommy. Jesse's older brother gave Tom the drugs that killed him."

I didn't react to the new information because, disturbingly, it was something I had grown used to as a child.

"What Zach does isn't Jesse's business. It isn't Jess's fault that Tom died." I pointed out, quickly taking out my phone and sending Jess a quick message.

Zach killed T?

I got a reply almost instantly.

Accident.

I rolled my eyes at Jesse's lame response and looked back at the brothers, who were staring at my phone weirdly.

"Tom despised Jesse, I don't know why but he did. Kace thinks Jesse made Zach give Tommy the drugs for revenge or something," Keegan stated, leaning forward.

I laughed, throwing my phone across the bed. "You might think you know Jesse, but you don't. He isn't a murderer."

-*-

"She's not like us, you know?" I hear Kane whispered, "Did you see her face when we showed her that dress?"

"She told me that she's never had a phone before, or a laptop, or been in a Mall." Kade commented, seeming shocked. "Do you realize how messed up that is?"

"Wow." Kace's voice was the next one I recognised, "She told us that she grew up in the South Side but they have phones and money and shit. Her parents must have really hated her."

I sucked in a breath, trying to stop myself from running into that room and pounding their faces in with my bare hands.

"She's obviously got anger issues as well." Kenzie added tiredly, "How many times have we had to stop her from doing something to us?"

"Too many." Kace muttered, probably remembering the headbutts that normally ended with a bloody nose.

"You can't just sit here and list all of her flaws. She didn't decide where she grew up or how much money she had, just like we didn't. What do you think she could say about us? We have no right to judge her." Keegan continued, his voice raising a little.

"He's not wrong." Kade agreed.

Kace signed, "I understand that Keegan but I think you're taking it too personally."

"No, I'm not. After everything that happened to me, despite having a perfect life, a perfect family and a shit load of money, what do you think happened to her? Jumping around foster home after foster home, especially if it was in the South. We don't know anything about her."

"She was in Juvie," Kenzie revealed, "I heard Mom and Dad talking about it."

"Exactly, she's a crim-"

"Shut up, Kace." Keegan interrupted, "We don't know why she was in Juvie so don't pretend like it automatically makes her a bad person. Everyone makes mistakes, you should know that better than anybody after what you did to Kade with the pact."

"Close your goddamn mouth." Kace hissed. A sudden sound of shuffling was heard and it sounded like someone was getting slammed against a wall.

"He's not wrong, Kace." Kane defended, "We all make mistakes, what you and Jackson did to Kade proves that."

"I fucking said sorry, didn't I?"

"No offence but sorry doesn't mean shit, it's still in full force. Kade's our brother and now he has to deal with that shit every day. And Keegan, she is a criminal. Kace wasn't wrong about that." Kenzie sounded pissed, all of his brothers were silent.

My eyebrows furrowed at that. What pact?

I walked into the room, smiling as I sat down on the floor next to Kane. Kace's face dropped as he let go of Keegan, who ran his hand along the red mark on his neck.

"Ooh what should we talk about, my dear brothers?" I asked sarcastically. "Dresses? Anger? Juvie perhaps? So many choices." I smiled as their eyes widened.

"Rocky, we're sor-"

"Save it." I stood up, and walked back to the door. "Don't worry about hurting my feelings because I guarantee you not one bit of my self esteem is tied up in your acceptance."

"Thanks, Keegan." I added quickly before walking out.
