Chapter 33
" The Sun Can Fuck Right Off. "
Rochelle Quinn's POV:
Groaning as the sudden ache in my head hit mercilessly, I pushed my body upwards and shoved off the thing that held me down.
Which appeared to be an arm.
What did I do last night?
A sharp ray of light hit my eyes the moment they opened, only furthering my confusion of what I did.
But one thing was certain in my mind; The Sun Can Fuck Right Off.
"Wake up." I shoved the body harshly, not caring when I heard them wince underneath the covers.
I tried again, pushing a bit harder this time. "What the fuck did we do last night?"
Pulling the covers up, I looked into Kenzie's confused eyes.
Shit.
Did I fuck Kenzie?
He chuckled lightly, pulling the covered up to hide his torso. A smug grin hugged his lips lazily. "No, we didn't fuck. But you did kiss me."
"No I fucking didn't." I argued instantly, wishing that I could actually remember what happened.
My knee began hurting as I stretched it out, I rolled my eyes and signed frustratedly. "Who'd I fight with?"
He smirked again, biting his lip slightly. "Mia. She wouldn't get off me so you got her off for me. I think you was a bit jealous."
I scoffed, "I highly doubt it, Dracula."
"It would've been laughing so much if she wasn't near me. You got all Alpha Male on me, Quinn. You looked like one scary ass Derek Hale looking motherfucker." He laughed, shaking his head slightly as he looked down with a small smile on his face at the thought.
I didn't reply, but I caught his eyes.
"Why are you glaring at me like that?"
"I'm really hoping that you'll spontaneously combust." The sarcasm in my voice was undeniable, and almost cruel but he still grinned at me as if I didn't say anything.
"Why are you smiling?" I asked again, ridding my tone of any positive emotion.
"Last night." He sent me a half smile, diverting his eyes. "You don't remember but Mia was drunk and she tried to say and do somethings and you stopped her. Thank you for that."
I'm getting too close to them.
"You're right." He looked hopeful for a second as I nodded at him, "I don't remember."
I stood up, stretching, and walked out of the room.
And I swear I could feel the disappointed gaze of my NYE lover follow me.
*+*+*+*
"What the fuck are you guys watching?" My eyebrows furrowed as I dived onto the couch, with Kane rudely sat in my way.
Keegan shrugged his shoulders, "It was Kace's turn to pick."
"Well what show is it?" I asked again, rolling my eyes. Keegan huffed as I lay across the couch, shuffling my feet into his lap. Kenzie sat on a chair adjacent to the large couch, avoiding my shifting gaze.
"Game of thrones." A muffled voice came out from under me. I moved up momentarily, looking down to see Kace staring up at me.
I must've jumped on top of him.
Oops.
"What's happening in it then?"
Kace shuffled out from beneath me, sitting down on the floor. "Fuck me if I know. Some of the girls are hot so that's the priority."
I chuckled, my eyebrows raised naturally. "Is that so?"
"Have to agree with him." Kade smiled shyly from across the room, coming and sitting next to his brother. If I hadn't have been paying attention, I wouldn't have noticed the way Kace's eyes lit up once Kade sat down next to him. The little action made a smile appear and decorate my face.
"Hey, Rocky?" I turned to face Keegan as he called my name, "You're into chicks, aren't you? Who's hotter, the blonde or the brunette?"
I studied the screen, narrowing my eyes.
"Blonde ones called Daenerys and the brunettes called Missandei." Kade helped out.
"I'll have to say the blonde, Daenerys. But the brunettes pretty hot." I evened out, grinning as I noticed Kade staring at the screen in awe as the brunette kissed one of the half naked men. The scene developed into something more intense and it was almost obvious what was going to happen before the TV suddenly flipped over to the news station.
"Kenzie! What'd you do that for?!" Kace complains instantly, shaking his head in shock at his younger sibling.
"It was boring me." The Goth deadpanned, no emotion empowering his voice.
I rolled my eyes, focusing my attention back on the screen.
Suddenly, two familiar figures appeared on the TV as the woman began speaking again.
Police are currently looking for two suspects after a drug raid in Detroit, Michigan.
"Bodhi." The name slipped out of my mouth before I had a chance to stop it, catching the all of the brothers attention as soon as it left.
The screen moved back to the security cameras, showing a man moving a box into a black truck and a woman smirking at the camera lens with her middle finger raised high and proud.
The male is around 6"2 with dark hair. The female's height isn't obvious but she looks to be in her Mid-Twenties, with dark hair and a tattoo on her wrist.
"Lana." I rested my finger on my lip, memorised at the woman who I hadn't seen in a long time.
Keegan looked at me weirdly, "Wait..You know them? Personally?"
"I knew both of them." I murmured, "At least I thought I did. Once upon a time."
They saved me.
At the group home, they saved me.
Kade smiled at me as though he understood what I wanted to say, "What sort of people were they then?"
A crumbled copy of a smile tattooed itself onto my face, "They were going to change the world."
But around them, the world burned.
"Well now it looks like they're changing the drug world." Kane remarked, " That van must have a lot of drugs in it."
I sent him a small smile, "I never said they were the greatest influences."
Pausing, my eyebrows furrowed as I wondered a thought at loud. "What was your childhoods like?"
"Well considering we were in a boarding school for the majority of it, I would say it was delightful." Kace remarked sarcastically, with a large amount of distaste in his tone.
"Boarding school?" I held back a laugh, biting down on my lip. "What was that like then?"
"It was horrible." Kane leaned forwards with a look of disgust on his face, shivering from what I could only assume was the memories. "We had to be up at 6am everyday." That very memory had them all cringing and I didn't blame them.
It would kill me to wake up at 6am.
"The teachers were the worst though. It wasn't just detention or writing lines. Every single wrong action had its own punishment. Sometimes it was cleaning out the trash cans for a week, sometimes it was running around in the pouring rain until we got frostbite."
Kace closed his eyes, shuddering.
Kenzie gripped his forearms hard, staring at the carpet, unmoving.
"We all hated it so much. It wasn't just the teacher though, it was the people. Snobby, rich kids who were stuck up their own asses. It was disgusting." Kade added, keeping his eyes on me.
Keegan's bottom lip shook as Kade spoke, his eyes watering considerably. I could only imagine that his experience in the school wasn't the best.
Suddenly, Kenzie stood up and walked to the door, causing his brothers to make sounds of protest.
"Stop being a cry baby, it's a fucking school and it's not as if we'll ever go back. Stop getting upset about it." Kane rolled his eyes at his younger brother.
"I'm not a cry baby, and I'm not upset." Kenzie argued, though it was clearly a lie.
"You are, Kenzie," Kade said calmly, watching all of his brothers reactions carefully.
Kenzie sighed deeply, glaring at his brother, clenching and unclenching his jaw.
"I'm going to shower and then sleep, night." He didn't wait for a reply and walked out of the room silently
They were all looking in the direction in which left, but I didn't care.
I ran after him.
