Chapter 39
" My deepest apologies, Miss Quinn. "
Rochelle Quinn's POV:
"You can't stop looking at me, staring at me, be what I be. You can't stop looking at me. So get up out my face, " I sang, messing about playfully.
"ROCKY." I held back a laugh as Alec walked through the door with bright blue hair, his towel hanging low on his well-defined hips. The dye still stained his forehead. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO MY SHAMPOO?"
"Me? Nothing." I feigned innocence but my chuckle gave me away.
Ivan, Kade and Sky walked into the room, immediately bursting into laughter at their brothers ruined hair.
"Genius. Fucking genius, Rock." Sky gently punched my shoulder, coughing violently as the laughing became too strong.
"I swear to God, wait until I get you back." Alec threatened, narrowing his eyes at me.
I scoffed, sending him a sarcastic look. "Oh my, I'm so scared."
"You should be." He crossed his arms.
"Doubted." I narrowed my eyes.
"I'll get you back for this." He uncrossed his arms, clutching his towel tighter together so it didn't fall.
I crossed my arms, rolling my eyes. "Course you will."
We continued narrowing our eyes at each other and crossing, and then uncrossing, our arms.
"How the fuck did you do it anyway?" Alec looked at me flabbergasted.
"Easy." I shrugged nonchalantly. "You said you wanted a shower before, and it's easier to have one here then drive 30 minutes home. I swapped my shampoo to a spare one with blue dye in it."
Ivan coughed awkwardly, "You look like Reagan."
I widened my eyes, suddenly making the connection.
"Fucking hell, you actually do." I started laughing like a hyena again, clutching my stomach.
"Shut up." He muttered morosely, avoiding my gaze.
I sobered up, looking at the brothers. "I've not seen any of them since the raid."
Alec looked at me then, his eyes meeting mine. "We've seen Storm...and Raine." He glanced at Ivan, who looked down with an ambiguous expression. I ignored the interest igniting in my stomach. "Reagan made contact with us, when Sky was put in Juvie. But I've not heard from Bodhi or Lana, and I've only spoke to Reags a few times."
"Have you got his number?" I asked, my voice sounding more eager than I could possibly describe.
Ivan handed me his phone so I quickly found the number and added it into my contact list. I hesitated slightly as I saved it but clicked the button.
"How are they....Storm and Reagan?" I inquired cautiously, waiting Ivan's face falter at the names.
"Storms good. Reagan could be better. Raine's Raine." Alec shrugged nonchalantly, but kept his eyes on his redhead brother.

"This is Mitchell's boxing gym, Reagan Morgan speaking. Mitchell isn't present at the moment, but I can take a message. Who may I say is calling?" A bored voice echoed through the phone, his tone empty and quiet.
He sounds so different.
"Yes, I'd like to leave a message," I spoke, my voice calm but serious. "You can tell Mitchell that Rocky Quinn is currently on the phone."
"Dude!" Reagan sounds shocked, and then there's crashing sound, like he'd smacked his hand against some nearby object. "You fucking- Rock!"
"Hey," I laughed, smiling at I held the phone closer to my head. "Such language, Mr Morgan."
"Ah, yes, my deepest apologies, Miss Quinn. I didn't mean to offend your delicate sensibilities. Bitch." He replied sarcastically, and I could almost see his cheeky smile as he spoke each word.
God, it's so good to hear his voice after so long.
I had gotten a glimpse of him before we were dragged from the home, but we weren't near enough to talk or say goodbye.
"How did you get this number?" Reags demands, before I even gets a chance to respond. He sounds equally excited and puzzled. "Please tell me you're not doing something risky to get yourself in trouble. I swear, I'll hang up right now if-"
"It's fine," I interrupt, silencing him with my voice. "My fosters are away, I'm stuck with their sons."
"Fosters? You're 18 now? Why are you still in the system? What've you done, Rock?" He sounded confused but it didn't matter to me because I was finally hearing his voice. Being away from one of my best friends for so long was the hardest thing I've ever done.
"Not anything bad," I replied, pacing around my room nervously and biting my lip. "Probation and Social want me in until I'm 19."
"Probation?" He asked. It's hard to blame him for sounding so puzzled- I wasn't a good kid but I was never bad enough to get put inside. "What have you been up to, dude?"
"I hurt Bulldog. " I admit nervously. Saying it out loud, telling someone who had to experience his wrath, was strange, but comforting at the same time. It makes it feel more real, despite already telling Ivan and his brothers. "I hurt him really bad."
His breathing hitched momentarily. "How bad, Rock?"
"Well I kept my promise so I'm guessing pretty bad." My voice sounded empty as I spoke.
"You know when I told you to be a badass, I meant more like punching people, right? Not killing someone." He said, not sounding surprised nor sorrowful. I assumed he'd heard from the news or the streets, gossip travels fast.
"It's not like that, Reags. I wasn't on my meds and the nightmares came back. I thought if I killed him then they'd stop-"
"Rocky."
"-but it's okay," I interrupt him, shrugging my shoulders even though he couldn't see me. "He'll never hurt anybody again. So what if I have to spend another year in care. It's worth it as long as he can't destroy some other kids."
" I'm glad he's dead. I knew he was, and I knew the person who did it was arrested. I just didn't know it was you." The boy's voice was quiet, almost inaudible. I knew how difficult it was for us to speak about it, but we couldn't avoid it either. "What's your foster's like then?"
"Everyone looks like angels compared to the group home." I laugh meekly, "I had a bit of trouble at first but we're okay now."
"Huh. Rocky Quinn having a good family" Reagan mutters. "Weird shit." His voice is softer when he adds, "That's really good though, Rock. I'm happy for you."
"Thanks," I smile, quickly clearing my throat, secretly not wanting things to get all sappy. "How're things with you? How's Bodhi?"
Reagan chuckled, "I think I'm good, dude. I mean, Mitchell's is treating me just right. A bunch of massive guys staring at me all day, who wouldn't love it?" he deadpans. "And I've not seen Bodhi since the raid" My breathing hitched.
"Reagan, I'm sorr-"
"Don't be." He responded instantly, rudely cutting off my sentence. "I've spoken to him though, he's doing good. He's been in Michigan with Lana for a while, they should be coming back soon or I'll go up there to meet them."
"But you know what's awesome?" Reagan continued. "Bodhi's still running the business down there and we're meeting up with all the boys as soon as he comes back so I won't have to work at this stupid gym any more." He tells me, the excitement basically swallowing his voice.
I shake my head, pulling the phone away from my ear for a slight second. That boy never fails to surprise me in the stupidest way possible.
"Why am I not surprised?" I chuckle, with forced cheer. "None of you are allowed to get put inside, I've just got you back."
They better not.
"Sorry, Rock. I know. " The boy signs, probably with his head in his hands. "It's been hard since I got out of the homes. I've not been back in the South since we were kids. I only found Alec because I saw an article about Sky's conviction in the Tribune."
"We'll all see each other soon, Reags, I swear." I spoke quietly, hearing my door slam open. I looked into the curious eyes of the youngest Jensen, gazing at me with his eyebrows furrowed. "Look I'll have to go, phone me on this number when they get back. "
"I'll call," He promised and I could feel my fingers cross together in hope. "It was really good to hear from you, man. And I'm really glad you're happy with your fosters."
"Thanks, Reagan. Hopefully things keep going alright for you." I avoided Kade's glance and stared out of my window, at the descending sun.
"I'll talk to you soon, Rock. Love you." I bit my lip as my lips moved upwards.
" Love you, Reags, I'll see you soon."
