I sit up, my wolf stirring restlessly, and look at the clock. It's late. Adriana had completely shut me out. I couldn't mind- link her, nor did she show up for dinner, which I had with Zade and Valerie. I knocked on her door and asked if I could come in or speak to her, but she simply ignored me.
1 now glance around. Why had I awakened? It had taken me hours just to fall asleep.
