Chapter 105 After Dylan was abandoned last night, he binge-watched three seasons of âBonesâ. He kept watching until the day. As he was going to sleep, he realized there were intruders in his place.
He heard the beeps of the keypad followed by his door unlocking.
Dylan was wearing a dinosaur onesie while holding a Tigger doll. He stood there as he watched the door open.
As he had expected, Noah walked in. He was furious when he saw Noah.
âNoah, how dare you! Last night... Oh. Hehe. Ms. Madeline. You are here as well. Please come in. My house is a mess but it doesnât look like this usually. I swear.â
Dylan was experiencing the most awkward moment of his life. He put on a fake smile and pulled Noah to one side.
âNoah, this isnât right. Even if you are successful, you shouldnât be showing off your love in the morning. Iâm telling you. Iâm fragile.â Dylan complained.
âWhat kind of nonsense are you talking about? Madeline is injured!â
âWhat? Youâre not here to show off?â
âOf course, not!â Noah was getting impatient with Dylanâs intelligence.
âHeh, itâs a misunderstanding. Itâs all just a misunderstanding...â Dylan could only laugh.
âWhat do you mean by fragile?â
Madelineâs voice suddenly appeared behind them. Both of them were shocked.
âHas your wound opened? Your arm is fragile. Let me take a look.â Dylan had a serious face and started checking Madelineâs arm.
Madeline didnât really believe him but treating her wounds is more important, so she let it go.
Dylan took out the first-aid kit and treated Madelineâs wound. Wayne took Albert to the lab downstairs to treat him.
Madelineâs wound opened because there was another fracture in her arm. Dylan was surprised at her endurance. A normal person canât endure such a serious injury. However, this woman looked calm. She was just as good as Noah in terms of endurance.
âThereâs a fracture in the bone. Normal nano bandages wonât work. It must be fixed with a steel plate. I have a compressed version. It should work.
Dylan took out a very soft steel ring that looked like an armguard. After he activated it, it locked onto Madelineâs bandaged arm.
When the steel ring came into contact with Madelineâs arm, it fit her arm perfectly. Madeline felt her arm was supported by an invisible force. Her wound did not even hurt as much as it used to.
âWhat is this? This is incredible.â Madeline exclaimed.
She thought she had to undergo surgery to install a heavy steel wireframe. She did not expect it to be something that fits her arm like her own clothes.
âItâs my invention. The Super Thin Fixation Ring. Amazing, right?â
âItâs incredible. Itâs my first time seeing this technology. Dylan. You are a genius in the medical industry indeed.
âThank you,â Dylan said with a smile.
Before he could finish, Noah stood between him and Madeline. âSince you need a fixation device, you need to be careful.â
âYes. Itâs all thanks to Mr. Quincy and you, Dylan.â
Madeline knew Noah purposely stood there to stop her from speaking with Dylan. She peeked out and waved toward Dylan.
Dylan could sense danger looming, so he quickly escaped back to his room to change.
Only Madeline and Noah were left in the spacious living room.
Noah used Dylanâs kitchen without his approval to make a glass of hot milk for Madeline.
Chocolate-flavored milk. Itâs her favorite.
Madeline was stunned when she took the glass. Then, she thanked him and changed the topic.
It was also the reason why she still stayed there without leaving.
âMr. Quincy, after interrogating the assassin, do you know who is the person responsible?â Madeline asked Noah seriously.
âI donât.â
âSeriously?â
âI donât need to know. I only know the person will soon be assassinated by Lone Wolf regardless of identity.
âYou made a deal with Lone Wolf? Thatâs impossible. No matter how much you pay him, Lone Wolf always honors his contract with his employer. Unless...â
âUnless I have a bargaining chip that he canât refuse.â
âYou do? What is it?â Madeline was curious.
âMs. Madeline. You probably donât know this. The person you caught was Lone Wolfâs brother, Lone Fox.â
âShould I feel honored that Lone Wolf actually sent his brother to assassinate me.â
Joseph was really a madman. He just wanted her dead no matter what. Three years ago, he did the same. Now, it was worse.
âDo you know who is behind all this?â
âDo you believe my words?â Madeline looked at him, hoping for an answer. He wouldnât believe her in the past no matter what.
âI do.â
âSomeone from the Quincy family. Joseph Quincy. I think he is your cousin. Iâm sorry that you need to ruin your familyâs plan because of me.â
Madeline did not try to conceal anything and said Josephâs name directly because she knew Noah would find out eventually. Itâs better to let him know soon.
If Noah had to side with his cousin, it was understandable as well. They were a family after all.
âJoseph...â Noah was angry but suppressed it soon.
âMr. Quincy, do you regret saving me now? You better take back your order before itâs too late. You canât make enemies with your family because of me.â
Madeline looked at Noahâs reaction and prepared to leave. She figured she would probably be Noahâs enemy no matter what.
She started to feel nervous.
âMadeline, do you have a feud against Joseph?â After Madeline stood up, Noah grabbed her wrist.
âYes. A blood feud.â
âMr. Quincy, are you planning to get revenge for your cousin?â Madeline tried to shake him off, but he was gripping tightly.
âItâs possible. Unfortunately, I have a feud with him too. Donât you think we are a match made in heaven?â
Noah stood up and held Madelineâs waist after he saw Madelineâs nervous reaction.
