Chapter 130 Caught off guard by the question, Noah quickly pulled a sour face. He grabbed Lone Wolf by the neck.
âWhat did you do?â
âHahaha! Whatâs the matter? Did I get to you?â Lone Wolf chortled. Nothing amused him more than the panic in Noahâs eyes.
With his rage rising to a peak, Noah drew close and picked Lone Wolf up by the neck.
âSpill or the next sound you hear is your neck breaking.â
âFine... Iâll talk... Iâll talk.â Lone Wolf quit the ridicule due to the asphyxiation. Flushed in the face, he caved in.
Noah hurled him to the ground and stomped on his chest.
âWhat did you do to my child?â
âTake it easy there... Cough, cough... Now that we all have leverage, how about a reevaluation of our positions? I guess you havenât gotten my brother thrown off the cliff yet.â
Lying on the ground, Lone Wolf curled his bloodied lips and jokingly said to Noah.
While he was down on the ground, Lone Wolf secretly pulled out his mini dagger from his pocket and stabbed himself in the flesh to wake his bodily senses.
Noahâs chilly eyes fixated on him amid the silence.
Lone Fox was only taken away to be locked up.
Lone Wolf knew him well for sure.
âI knew you wouldnât kill him. Youâre not one to kill those who prove a fair fight.â
âWell, arenât you cocky? Can you guess whether Iâll kill you?â
âYou will, but you probably wonât have the chance.â Lone Wolf immediately threw a steel ball-like item at Noah. A cloud of smoke emerged when the steel ball hit the ground.
It was a mini smokescreen.
Lone Wolf was able to make his escape under the thick smoke.
By the time Noah tried to give chase, Lone Wolf was long gone.
âSend the police after him. He wonât get far!â
When Madeline dialed Noahâs number, the contact âpr*ckâ showed up on the mobile screen. It hit her that the phone had her sim card in it.
The phone rang for a long time, but no one picked up the call on the other end of the line.
âWayne, you need to inform Noah that Iâve been rescued so that Lone Wolf doesnât get the upper hand.â She told Wayne while listening to the busy tone on the phone.
Since Wayne was Noahâs personal assistant, he might have his way of contacting his boss.
âAre you worried about Mr. Quincy? Mr. Quincy will be glad to know that.â
Madeline was at a loss for words.
Now was not the time to talk about this.
And the guy was supposed to be Noahâs personal assistant.
Out of alternatives, Madeline decided to write Noah a text message.
With her lean fingers dancing around the mobile keyboard, she soon had a text sent out.
Just like the call, the text message went unanswered.
Madeline felt unsettled.
She tapped on Albertâs contact number, ready to inform him to bring in the reinforcement.
To her surprise, Albertâs call came in right after she delivered the text message.
âI finally got to you, Ms. Grant. Did something happen?â
âI ran into Lone Wolf, but Iâm okay now.â
âLone Wolf? Ms. Grant, thereâs something I need to report to you right now. Weâre now in North Hill. Colt and Thomas were taken away. We tracked them down here...â
It was unlike Albert to reveal his nerves through his calm voice.
It never occurred to him that he would commit such a grave error in his professional career.
Colt was abducted right under his nose, and Albert failed to notice it in time.
âWhat? Colt and Thomas were taken away? Who took them? Do you have any leads to go on?â
A chill went down Madelineâs spine.
Her heart started racing as she was thrown into a fluster.
âWe donât know yet, but the abductor must be a professional. The person was able to access the secret room in the house, and our traps werenât able to stop them. By the time I realized something was wrong, they had already left with Colt. As for Thomas, he must have realized Colt was taken and went with them...â
Albert helplessly sighed.
Thomas had always been valiant and witty, but the boy put himself at risk this time.
However, they could track the kids down because of Thomasâ phone signal.
This was the reason why Albert was filled with mixed emotions.
âThat brat!â Worried sick, Madeline could barely hold the phone still.
The boy was only five. How could he?
Never mind if it was an ordinary abductor. However, the encounter with Lone Wolfâs men could prove fatal.
âIâll advance to North Hill right away. Continue your search and stay in touch. The people who took Colt and Thomas must be of Lone Wolfâs. Get everybody to stay alert. Let Thirteen at them when necessary. No need to hesitate.â
Madeline was distraught, wishing she was at North Hill to find the children right now.
Now was not the time to lose it. Hence, she got a grip on herself and gave Albert the instructions.
âSure, Ms. Grant.â
Madeline then hung up the call and sought the tracking app on her phone to nail down Thomasâ location.
It dawned on her while looking through the phone that this was not her phone.
She made a surprising discovery that the phone had been modified for better control and usage.
Madeline soon found the signal on Thomas. Staring at the flickering red dot on the mobile map, Madeline felt a little relieved.
âWayne, this phone is...â
âThis is the latest HX-5 series by the Quinciesâ research and development team â the most advanced mobile phone in technology...â
âI see. It is ahead of its time. I canât believe the Quincies dabble in a vast number of fields.â
Madeline was shocked. She had been keeping an eye on the electronic gadgets of all major companies. She had never known the Quincies to be involved in the world of technology.
Noah sure kept it under wraps.
âThe Quincies have always had an R&D department, but our products are not available to the public. This phone is developed specifically for Mr. Quincy. That reminds me, Mrs. Quincy. The scarlet red model youâre holding is a matching set with Mr.
Quincyâs black version.â
Judging by the look on Wayneâs face, he was shipping for Noah and Madeline.
âUm... Wayne, donât root for us. Itâs not going to happen between him and me.â
âMrs. Quincy, the truth is... Mr. Quincy...â
Wayne tried to put in a few nice words for his boss, but Madeline cut him off.
âYou must have heard that Colt is kidnapped. We should focus on the road and get to North Hill at maximum speed. Capeesh?â
âSure, Mrs. Quincy. Those people are asking for it to kidnap Colt. Iâm already accelerating as we speak. We should be there in ten minutes.â
âGood.â
Feeling a steady drive despite the burst of speed, Madeline believed that the nosy man had his good points. At least, his skills came in handy during a time of need.
