I didn't even mean to write a angsty imagine so I apologize ð¬
Danvers!Reader.
Natasha x Reader.
Jean Grey x Reader.
Avengers and X-Men crossover.
I have nothing against Bruce just throwing that out there. Although I feel like in the movies the pairing seemed a little forced.
Set during Infinity War although I changed some things up.
Also used a few lines from Endgame (cries again)
Requests are open! Just pm me :)
Enjoy!
YOUR POV
Not many, or anybody for that matter really, could say that they were dating Black Widow. Nobody could really say that they met her either... and lived to tell about it. But being the sister of Carol Danvers had its perks. Both of you joined the Avengers, Carol decided to help protect other planets while you stayed here on earth.
Your powers were different then your sisters. She could fly and shoot proton beams out of her hands, where you could control minds and the objects around you. You were a mutant.
After Thanos was defeatedâ Carol, you and Thor managed to rip the gauntlet off his hand before Thor beheaded the titan with Stormbreakerâ you felt like you could all finally relax for once.
That was until Bruce came back after one of his many breaks of trying to get The Hulk under control. It was no secret that your girlfriend Nat and the scientist had chemistry. They had a little thing going on way before you and your sister joined the Avengers. You couldn't be mad at her when she told you that they had been previous lovers, but you did have a right to be jealous when she started spending all her free time with him.
Your ears perked up when you heard the familiar laughter of your skilled girlfriend by the bar, her standing behind the counter in front of Bruce who sat on the bar stool. Their laughter died down and that was when she looked at him with her intoxicating emerald orbs, her plump lips that were covered in red lipstick smirked upwards ever so slightly. You tore your eyes away, feeling the need to vomit bubble in your stomach from witnessing an intimate moment. One that should only be reserved for you.
As cliche as it is, you've seen that look before because that was your look. The way her hard emerald eyes would soften when she'd look and talk to you, her walls visibly breaking down before you.
Clenching your fists you could feel yourself start to lose control of your powers, and you didn't realize he few objects around you were shaking.
"Y/n!" Tony yelled in your face, breaking your concentration and making the tv remote slam back on the glass table.
The room went silent and you could feel two pairs of eyes boring into the side of your face. With a huff you got up from the couch and walked passed the billionaire.
"Where's the fire?" He called after you.
[...]
The next time you saw your girlfriend was when you were training. Your wrapped fists pounded the worn out punching bag in a rage of emotions, feeling the sweat run down your back.
"Y/n?" Nat said softly, shifting on her feet.
You stopped mid punch and reached for you water bottle, breathing heavily at the intense workout.
"What?" You asked harshly. You didn't mean to sound so cold and distant and you could see her wince slightly at your tone.
"We need to talk..." She paused, sinking her teeth into her bottom lip, "Bruce and I-"
"-I know. The whole fucking compound knows. I'll move back into my old room by the end of the night." Your tough demeanor cracked along with your voice, feeling tears well up in your eyes and you had to get out of there before you broke down.
"I hope he makes you happy." You whispered before jogging out of there, rushing past the scientist himself.
[...]
A month had passed and you both went about your normal life's. It was hard, mainly on you it seemed, but there was no avoiding each other. You found out from Tony that her and Bruce made things official a few weeks ago, basking in the love they shared. You scoffed and took another sip of your Scotch.
"I don't know how you do it, really." Bucky laughed lightly before pouring himself a drink.
"Yeah, I mean I don't think I could ever pretend to be okay after something like that." Sam came and sat down on the other side of you.
"She's happy and I'm happy for her." You grumbled.
"Bullshit." Sam snorted.
"It wouldn't make her happy to know that I'm still moping around." You grumbled into your now empty glass.
"So you're pretending to be happy just for her sake?" Bucky raised one of his eyebrows at you.
You just nodded, both of them patting your back at the same time.
"You're too good for this world." Bucky said.
"I'm glad I met you guys." You cracked a small smile, this shocked both boys because all you've been doing is frowning.
"I'm glad I met you too, y/n." Sam smiled softly at you.
"Me too, but why does this sound more like a goodbye?" Bucky asked.
"Because it is. I'm leaving tomorrow to go to Xavier's school for gifted youngsters. They're going to help me control my mutation."
"You weren't going to tell us, were you?" Sam frowned.
You shook your head before getting up off the chair, "I'm sorry."
[...]
"You're leaving?" Natasha voice echoed off the walls of your room, your heart clenching.
"You weren't supposed to know." You finished zipping up your suitcase before turning around.
"Why?" Her voice was shaky.
"Because they're going to help me control my mutation. I might not turn into a giant green beast when I'm angry but people can still get hurt."
"Wanda can help you. There's no reason for you to leave unless you're running away from something. Or someone." The red head stepped closer to you, invading your personal space. Her eyes just stared into your own.
"I'm not running." You grumbled.
"Then stay." She whispered.
You clenched your jaw, eyes casting down towards her soft lips. Lips you've kissed many times on many occasions. Lips that left your body craving more, a fire burning in pure want with the places they've touched. But they weren't your lips to kiss anymore, or to crave anymore.
"I have to go." You whispered, grabbing you belongings and leaving your old room and the compound for good.
[...]
The next time you saw the Avengers was a year later. In that year you had managed to find friends and a home in the large mansion. You even managed to find a girlfriend, Jean Grey. Jean was the one to help you control your powers as much as she could and you two just hit it off.
But now you couldn't help but feel a little awkward being in the same room with your ex girlfriend and your current one.
The X-Men called the Avengers about teaming up to defeat Apocalypse, one of the first mutants. The Avengers agreed and here you all were back in the compound going over a plan.
"I see you got a thing for red heads." Bucky nudged your side.
"Yeah, you wanna tell me about her?" Sam smirked at you.
You just shook your head, a small smile of your own creeping up on your lips when you saw Jean walk over to you.
"I don't think I will."
