ââWhereâs your dad?ââ Evan questions Drew as he takes his seat next to his best friend, he felt a pang of disappointment in his gut but push it back.
ââHe went home, something is up with him.ââ Drew drawls with concern.
Evan knew something was bothering Andrew, but his job as a friend was to tell Drew that everything was going to be fine. And that Andrew was fine, things will get better.
Drew knew this as well but Evan guessed he could humor his best friend.
ââHeâll be fine Drew, watch by this time next week your dad will have his own place and meet a woman and have lots of sex with her.ââ Evan didnât want to acknowledge the pain in his chest as he said that so he smiles even if it was painful.
The good thing was that after he said that, Drew started choking on the drink he was currently chugging down his throat while Evan was talking. ââMy god Evan, donât fucking do that again, I almost choke to death!ââ Drew exclaimed after a few coughs.
ââNot my fault you canât swallowed, oh look at that I made a funny!ââ Evan chirps excitedly and Drew rolls his eyes at him. ââGrow up Evan.ââ Drew scoffs with a small smile playing on his lips, Evan smiles back at him, he knew Drew was just teasing him like he always did.
The same man came to their table, Drew study the man from head to toe.
He was an older man, and very well dressed, but his dad was a lot better looking than this dude.
He turns his gaze on Evan who was biting his bottom lip and looking everywhere but at the man standing in front of their table. Drew opens his mouth to ask what he wanted, but the stranger talked first.
ââSo cutie, whatâs it going to be?ââ The man asks Evan and Drew furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
ââDrew, are you ok going home alone? Iâm kind of going to his place for the rest of the night.ââ Evan spoke quietly leaning close to Drewâs ear.
Drew didnât like this at all. Why couldnât Evan just come home with him? Why couldnât he be with- Shit do I really want my best friend and my father together? He asked himself and as he looks at Evan than at the older man, he had his answer; yes it is better if they were together, and my dad is responsible and nice to others and believes in love.
Evan is trustworthy and loving and he hates cheaters so he never will cheat, but how do I get them together?
ââAre you sure Evan? I mean isnât it too soon?ââ He hoped his friend didnât see what he really was thinking; he needed a plan to get his old man and Evan together so he didnât want to tell Evan just yet.
Evan was hoping Drew would tell him to leave with him, yes he was horny, but he really didnât want to go home with a stranger, he wanted someone else, he got sad knowing that the person he wanted would never look his way and he didnât want to tell his friend who he truly wanted. How would Drew react if he told him he had the hots for his father? As he stares at his friend he knew what he had to do.
ââI guess youâre right, itâs too soon but then again how can I move on if I donât try.ââ He shrugs and stands up to accept the strangerâs offer.
ââWait! Evan you canât leave me here, Iâm a bit drunk and well I kind of need help getting home.ââ Drew smile sheepishly at his friend.
Evan narrow his eyes at his best friend, he wanted to call it bull-shit at his friendâs reasons but after a long sigh, he turns to the stranger who was looking at the both of them with amuse dancing in his eyes.
ââSorry, canât tonight.ââ Evan smile at the cute man as he tells him to buzz off in the nicest way.
ââNo problem cutie, perhaps another night, you know when your friend isnât drunk.ââ He leans down and pecks Evan on his cheek and then turns to leave.
ââYou so owe me asshole.ââ Evan said punching Drewâs arm softly.
ââCome on letâs go home.ââ Drew stands up and holds his hand out for Evan to take it.

Andrew tried to go to sleep, he tossed and turn in his bed but couldnât.
He was wide awake when he heard Drewâs and Evanâs voices, they were laughing about something. Andrew let out a sigh as he hears Evan talking about the dance and how hot the guy was. Jealousy was all Andrew could feel, he shut his eyes tightly trying to push all those feelings away.
Then he heard his sonâs voice. ââYou know I didnât know you were into older man.ââ His son sounded like he was teasing Evan and Andrew held his breath in as he tries to listen to Evanâs response.
ââYeah, I guess I have daddy issues, because older man do it for me like honey does it for Winnie the pooh.ââ They both laugh and Andrew let out his breath.
ââWell shit Evan, if older man is what you want, then you do know you donât have to go very far.ââ Andrew tense as he hears his son still teasing, what did he mean by that?
It got quiet, Andrew stands up from his bed and slowly walks towards his door; he opens it slowly only enough to see if he can spot the guys, he could see Evan with his back to his door, and Drew in front of him.
ââWhat do you mean?ââ Evan questions with a low voice.
ââWell shit, thereâs like a bunch of professors on campus, thatâs what I meant, what did you think I meant?ââ Drew asks and Andrew wonder the same thing, what did Evan think Drew meant?
ââOh nothing, never mind I think Iâm drunk, I guess is a good thing you didnât let me go home with that guy, after all.ââ Evan chirps trying to regain the happy mood.
ââYeah, itâs a good thing bud.ââ Andrew went from jealous to angry in milliseconds; he didnât want Evan going home with no one.
What did this mean? Was he starting to have feelings for his sonâs best friend? And if thatâs what it was, how could he avoid them?
He wasnât gay, or at least he didnât think he was, one look at Evan and that reasoning went out the window. He needed to move out before he did something and pissed his son off.

Evan sat on his bed staring at nothing; he was stupid to think Drew was talking about his dad when he had said that he didnât have to look far for older man. He scoffs softly as he starts to strip off his club clothes and gets into bed; he knew he had to get over his crush with Andrew. The man was straight and Evan knew crushing on him would be leading to yet another heart break. And if the heart break wasnât enough, he would also lose his childhood best friend and that was not going to happen.
With a decision to stop crushing on Andrew he sighs sadly, at that âwhat couldâve beenâ with the older male.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The next morning Evan woke up with a headache, he didnât think he had drunk much to get a hangover, but the pain in his skull begs to differ.
He went out of his room wearing only his sweatpants that he used as pajamas, he went into the kitchen and found father and son sitting on the table drinking coffee, ââwell good morning sunshine!ââ Evan grunted annoyed at his best friend, why was he so fucking happy at this time in the morning, it should be illegal to be this fucking chirpy.
ââEvan are you ok?ââ The concern in Andrewâs voice made Evan wince, he used to like it before when Andrew spoke to him as if he was his son, but now with the thoughts Evan had when it came to Andrew. It just made him feel like shit. ââYeah, Iâm fine sir, just a headache.ââ He grumble his response and heard Drew snorts, he glares at his best friend and then turns around to grab a glass of water.
ââYou could never hold your liquor, lightweight.ââ Evan was used to Drewâs teasing but for some reason; today he wasnât in the mood. ââWhatever, just because youâre an alcoholic doesnât we all are!ââ He snaps with anger. Get a grip on yourself Evan! He told himself as he looks at the wide eyes of Drew and Andrew, they were shock at Evanâs attitude, and now he was feeling guilty at how he was acting towards them. So with a big sigh and while running his hand through his messy hair he plasters a smile, which he wasnât feeling at all.
ââSorry, I guess Iâm still tired, so whatâs going on today?ââ He asks as he takes a sit next to Drew.
ââWell, I got nothing to do princess so youâre stuck with me, the old man has a work party heâs going to.ââ Drew laid out everyoneâs plans for the day, Evan ignored the name Drew called him, he really wanted to ask about the work party, but he stops himself and just hums in response.
ââSo since itâs Saturday, what do you say about having lunch and just go to the mall, I need some new clothes.ââ Drew offered and Evan rolls his eyes, he swore up and down that out of the two of them, Drew acted gayer than he did. He hated shopping. Drew always liked shopping and Evan swore the boy was supposed to be a girl. With a resigned sigh, he gets up and as he walks out the door, ââIâll take a shower than we can go.ââ He murmurs over his shoulder as he leaves the kitchen.
Drew stares after his best friend, something was bugging him, and Drew wanted to know what.
ââSo, I think Iâm going to go apartment hunting again before the party tonight.ââ His dad said with a serious voice as he also stares at the door, Drew didnât like that one bit; he needed his old man here, if he wanted this to happen he needed to come out with a plan and fast.
There was an annoying little voice in the back of his head, what if this doesnât work? Iâll end up hurting my dad and Evan. What if my dad isnât really interested in Evan? What if Evan saw my dad as a father figured and not as a possible boyfriend?
All those things were all possibilities but he saw chemistry in between those two, people say opposites attract, but Evan was like his father in so many ways and Drew knew they were a match made in heaven, he wasnât opposed to the idea of him playing cupid, and he also kept in mind that his father wasnât gay.
But for some reason, when his dad and Evan were in the same room, a happy glint would light up his dadâs eyes. And Evan became quiet and nervous, like a teenage girl crushing on the boy of her dreams.
He resisted the urged to snicker as he calls Evan a teenage girl. ââAre you even listening to me Drew?ââ His dad had an amused smile on his lips making Drew blushed. Ever since he can remember he always got distracted by his own thoughts, there was even worry in between his parents thinking Drew was adhd. But nope it was just good old ignoring the parental units.
ââSorry, I was thinking of something funny, but dad you know youâre welcome to stay here as long as you want.ââ Drew pipes as he rises from his seat and goes to rinse the dishes before sticking them in the dishwasher.
ââI know, but I really need my own space, Iâm not a college buddy, Iâm your father and although I know youâre old enough, I still donât like it when you drink, so at least me moving out can help me pretend my son is studying and not out being a slut and drinking alcohol.ââ Andrew chimes and Drew opens his mouth to deny, but what was the use of lying.
At that moment Evan walks into the kitchen and Drew saw the glint in his fatherâs eyes, that only confirmed his earlier thoughts, his dad was starting to if he wasnât already there to like Evan as more than his sonâs best friend.
ââSo are we ready?ââ Evan spoke softly, he was acting shy and that was another give away, that his best friend at very least felt an attraction to his dad.
ââChange of plans, me and you are going to go with dad to help him find a place.ââ Drew declares as he walks out to the living room. He was glad he had a quick thinking to manipulate those two.
ââDrew, you two donât have to do that, Iâm a grown man and I can do it myself.ââ Andrew protested walking into the living room as well.
Evan followed the two man quietly, he was nervous and yet excited to spend some of the day with Andrew but how was he supposed to get over his crush if Drew kept pushing them to spend time together?
ââDad, you know Iâll get my way anyways so why donât you just agree with me so we can get a move on.ââ Drew points out with a wicked smile, the one Evan and Andrew knew very well, Drew was planning something, what? They didnât know, they could only say God help us all.
So they both agreed with the spoiled man who was smirking with a knowing smile. When one of them question him on to why he was smiling he just shrugs and say because Iâm awesome.
Evan kept glancing at his friend, the smile was starting to look creepy and scary, and he shudders at the thoughts running through his mind, what could Drew had possibly planned? Whatever he had Evan knew people were going to suffer. His gaze kept going to Andrew was glancing Drewâs way, Andrew wasnât stupid and being Drewâs father he had come to the same conclusion as Evan.
Evan studied the older man thankful for his pitch black sunglasses that were covering his eyes.
The man looked so good, he was taller than Evan, and Andrewâs eyes they were blue and even as Andrew was looking at Drew with concern Evan could still see the love and pride he felt for his son.
Was I right? Did I have daddy issues and thatâs why Iâm crushing on Andrew?
But as he throws another glance Andrewâs way, he knew that wasnât it. He knew this went beyond attraction, he likes Andrew, heâs lusting after Andrew, and if he wasnât careful he would end up fulfilling the last L that was left. He mentally shook his head no, he wouldnât go there. It was ok with liking and lusting after the forbidden but to love was out of the question, better put those thoughts away and lock them in, throw away the key, because that is so not going to happen. So lost in his thoughts he didnât realize the cab had stop at an apartment building.
Drew paid the driver and Evan went to stand next to Andrew, the older man slowly turn his gaze on Evan and gave him a dashing smile, making Evanâs heart beat go faster and stop breathing. How can I get over this if he gives those smiles?
Evan wanted to cry at the position he was in, damn him for liking the wrong person, did he have a sign stating he only was attracted to unavailable man?
God he hoped not, because if he did he was screwed and not in the pleasant way.
