🦎 Shape Shifted🦎

Amara sat on the edge of the cliff looking out over the town. A twig snapped behind her making her look back to see Allison walking over, holding her phone out for a light. "Hey." Allison said as Amara got up, "Hey, did anyone see you leave?" Amara asked while glancing around and Allison shook her head.

"No, no one. I was careful." Allison said before frowning slightly, "What's wrong? Is it the full moon tomorrow night?" Allison asked and Amara shook her head. "No, no, the full moon doesn't affect me. I just wanted to ask you some things... about your family. Actually, more about your grandfather." Amara said and Allison nodded slightly.

"Okay. But, I don't really know him. I mean, he's kind of just a guy who sends a check in the mail every year for my birthday." Allison said and Amara nodded slightly, "Does he know about me or Scott?" Amara asked and Allison shrugged slightly. "He knows about you but my parents didn't tell him about Scott." Allison said and Amara sighed softly, "Okay, so good and bad." Amara said and Allison furrowed her brows.

"What is it? Did something else happen?" Allison asked and Amara sighed and shook her head, "It's just- I've heard stories about that man from my mom and my aunt. From what I've heard, he's worse than Kate." Amara said making Allison raise her eyebrows. "How much worse?" Allison asked, "Like blinding the man that was supposed to become my god father- worse." Amara said and Allison's eyes widened slightly.

"Look, if Gerard finds out that we're still friends it's not gonna be pretty. I'm the closest thing there is to the man that killed his daughter. He'd kill me the second he has a chance." Amara said and Allison shook her head slightly. "They won't find out and they wont stop us from being friends." Allison said and Amara nodded slightly as she stared at her for a moment.

"You sure no one followed you?" Amara asked and Allison smiled and nodded, "Totally, absolutely, one hundred million percent sure. My parents are out, anyways." She said and Amara raised her eyebrows. "Out?" Amara asked and Allison nodded, "Yeah. It's date night." She said and Amara hummed and nodded slightly.

"You really don't remember anything?" Amara asked and she, Allison and Lydia walked up to the school's entrance. "They called it a fugue state, which is basically a way of saying, 'We have no idea why you can't remember running through the woods naked for two days.' But, personally, I don't care." Lydia said, shrugging, "I lost nine pounds." She said said making Amara and Allison chuckle.

"Are you ready for this?" Allison asked and Lydia scoffed, "Please. It's not like my aunt's a serial killer." She says then turns around and heads towards the door. Allison turned to Amara in shock while Amara just watched Lydia with pursed lips. "I wonder what she would say if she found out my father was the one that attacked her." Amara said, looking over at Allison who just chuckled and shook her head before they both followed Lydia.

Amara, Allison and Lydia step into the student-filled corridor. When the door clangs shut, every single eye turns to focus on Lydia as the crowd hushes to a dead silence. Lydia took a deep breath looking around at all the looks people were giving her. "Maybe it's the nine pounds." Allison whispered to her making Amara quickly chuckle.

After a few agonizingly awkward seconds, Lydia whips her hair around and owns it. "That's the Lydia everyone love." Amara said and her and Allison glanced at each other with smiles before following after Lydia.

Amara walked over to the field only to see Scott run out of goal and tackle one of the players and sniffed them. "Scott." She sais making Scott look over at her as he ran back into the goal, "What the hell are you doing?" She said and he just shrugged.

She shook her head and then walked over to Stiles who stood in the line of lacrosse players. "What dumb plan did you come up with and why?" She asked making his jaw fall open in offense, "Why do you automatically assume this is my doing?" Stiles asked and she just raised her eyebrows at him while Coach yelled at Scott.

"Because I've known you since we were nine. You're literally the dumbest smart person I know." She said and Stiles thought for a moment before nodding, "Thank you." He said and she raised her eyebrows. "Are you going to tell me what he's doing?" She asked and he nodded, "Right, Scott said he there's another Werewolf on the team. He's trying to figure out who it is by scent." He said and she nodded.

"I could have told you who." She said making him do a double take and look at her crazy, "What?!? You know?!?" He asked and she nodded and shrugged. "I'm in Derek's pack. Of course I'd know." She said and he scoffed slightly, "So Derek's biting people." He said and she nodded.

"Well, yeah that kind of what new Alphas do... Even though he's not really going about it the right way" She said and he sighed, "Well? Who is it?" He asked and she looked around trying to the person before she saw Isaac standing in front of them breathing heavily. "Isaac?" She asked slowly but he obviously ignored her as she stepped up to him, "Isaac you need to keep your calm." She said in a low whisper but her ignored her again as the whistle blew.

Coach tosses the ball to Isaac. He catches it without even looking and charged forward. Scott soon charges out of the goal and runs directly at Isaac. Both of if them hitting each other with a loud smack.

"Why are they here?" Amara mumbled making Stiles look over at her but she was looking off in the distance. He following her train of sight to see his father, Makena and a couple deputies walking towards the field. Amara ran over to Isaac and pulled him up, "Isaac, what did you do?" She asked as she grabbed his shoulders and he rapidly shook his head. "I didn't do it. Amara, I didn't do it. Don't tell them. Please don't tell them."

Gathered at the benches, the players whisper about what's going on with Isaac who remains on the field talking to Stilinski, his Deputies and Coach. Off to the side, Amara, Stiles and Scott huddle together. "Can you hear them?" Stiles asked. Nodding, Scott and Amara both focuses in on Stilinski's voice.

"Your father's body was found last

night in his car. I'm terribly sorry. And as hard as this is, we unfortunately need to ask you some difficult questions." Stilinski said making Amara sigh. "His father's dead. They think he was murdered." She said and the three of them watch as Stilinski and his Deputies begin guiding Isaac off the field. "Did they say he's a suspect?" Stiles asked and Scott shrugged, "I don't think so why?" Scott asked.

"Because they can lock him in a holding cell for 24 hours." Stiles said making Amara sigh slightly, "You mean over night on a full moon." She said and he nodded. "How good are these holding cells at holding people?" Scott asked and Stiles sighed, "People? Good. Werewolves? Probably not that good."

"Stiles, remember when I said I don't have the urge to maim and kill?" Scott asked and Stiles nodded slightly, "Yeah..." Stiles said.

"He does."

🦎

While Mr. Harris writes notes on the chalkboard, Scott leans over to speak to Stiles and Amara in a hushed whisper. "But why would Derek pick Isaac?" Scott asked and Stiles nodded, "Peter told me if the bite doesn't turn you it'll kill you. Maybe teenagers have a better chance of surviving." Stiles said then looked at Amara for confirmation.

"Sort of. Derek didn't tell me why he picked Isaac, he just asked me to help him find him. But doesn't being a teenager mean your dad won't hold him?" Amara asked and Stiles shook his head slightly, "Not if they have solid evidence. Or a witness." Stiles said before glancing around slightly.

"Where the hell's Jackson?" Stiles asked and Amara and Scott shrugged making Stiles turn around to look at Danny. "Danny? Where's Jackson?" Stiles asked, "In the Principal's Office talking to your dad and Amara's mom." Danny said making Amara furrow her brows.

"What? Why?" She asked, "Maybe because he lives right across the street from Isaac." Danny said making the three share a look. "Witness."

"We need to get to the Principal's Office." Stiles said, "How?" Scott asked and Amara just smirked and ripped a piece of paper out of her notebook, "Oh, I have been waiting to do this for so long." She mumbled as she crumpled the paper up into a ball.

At the board, Mr. Harris lowers the chalk, finished transcribing his notes. "Okay, everyone please turn to page-" He said before all of the sudden a paper ball hits him in the back of the head making him spin around to glare at the class. "Who in the hell did that?" He asked looking around the class to find Scott pointing at Amara, who was pointing at Stiles, who was pointing at Scott.

🦎

Amara, Scott and Stiles sat outside the principal's office, listening to the conversation between Jackson and Stilinski.

"How often have you witnessed them fighting"

"All the time. You think Isaac got that black eye from lacrosse? We wear helmets."

"You knew Isaac's father was hitting him?"

"Hitting him? He was kicking the crap out of him."

"Have you ever said anything to anyone? Your parents? A teacher?"

"No. It's not my problem."

"Of course not. Funny how the kids getting beaten up are always the ones who least deserve it."

"Yeah- Wait what?"

A moment later the door opened making Stiles scramble to grab a magazine to cover his face as his dad walked out. Makena gave Amara a look while Stilinski looks at his son and sighed before looking at Scott and Amara. "Hi Scott, Amara." He said and they smiled and waved at him, he took one more look at his son before he and Makena walking away.

"Boys... and girl." Someone said making them look over. Amara sucked in a deep breath once she saw Gerard standing in the door way, "Come on in" He said. "Oh please just kill me." Amara muttered as she stood up and walked into the office.

"Amara... Hale" Gerard said in a tone that made Amara take a deep breath while he read her file, "Passing grades in every class except for Chemistry. Quiet the trouble maker it seems, that must be something that runs in the family. I'm sure." He said and she chuckled sarcastically and nodded. "You'd would be one to know."

"Scott McCall... Academically not the most accomplished, but I see you have become quite the star athlete! Mr. Stilinski... Oh, perfect grades, but little to no extracurriculars. Maybe you should try lacrosse?"

"Oh, actually, I'm already-"

"Hold on... McCall. You're the Scott that was dating my granddaughter." Gerard says making Scott's eyes widen anxiously, "We were dating, but not anymore." Scott said nervously. "Relax, Scott. You look like you're about to crack a cyanide pill with your teeth." Gerard chucked and Scott just looked at him awkwardly, "Just a really hard breakup."

"Oh, that's too bad. You seem like a pretty nice kid to me. Now, listen, guys. Yes, I am the principal, but I really don't want you to think of me as the enemy." Gerard said making Amara and Stiles hum slightly, "Heh, is that so?" Stiles asked and Gerard smiled slightly. "However, this being my first day, I do need to support my teachers. So, unfortunately, someone is going to have to take the fall and stay behind for detention."

Scott and Amara both looked over at Stiles for moment until Stiles looked up and saw everyone looking at him making him sigh.

🦎

The doors of the school slam open and Scott and Amara ran down the steps and into the parking lot to find they're too late. The Deputy Sheriff cars are already pulling away as Isaac turned around in his seat to look at them.

Amara sighed while Scott went to turn around and go back inside the school when a black camaro skids to a halt in front of them. Derek looks out from behind the wheel, "Get in." He said and Amara walked over to the other side of the car to get in but Scott wasnt having any of it, "Are you serious? You did that. That's your fault."

"I know. Now get in and help me."

"I've got a better idea. I'm going to call a lawyer. Because a lawyer might actually have a chance of getting him out of there before the moon goes up." Scott said making Amara raise her eye brows at him, "With what money?" She asked. "Not when they do a real search of the house." Derek said making Scott furrow his brows, "What do you mean?" He asked.

"Whatever Jackson said to the cops?

What's in the house is worse. A lot worse." Derek said and Scott looked like he was fighting with himself before finally walking over. Amara opened the passenger door and pulled the seat up before looking at Scott, "Go on." She said and Scott gave her a look making her raise her eyebrows.

"I always have to sit in the back of Stiles' jeep. You sit in the back of my cousin's car." She said making him groan slightly before climbing into the backseat.

🦎

Amara and Scott follow behind Derek as he leads them through the Lahey household. "If Isaac didn't kill his father, who did?" Scott asked and Derek shook his head slightly, "I don't know yet." He said.

"Then how do you know he's telling

the truth?" Scott questioned and Amara sigh in annoyance at the both of them, "Because I trust my senses. And it's a combination of them. Not just your sense of smell." Derek answered making Amara chuckled quietly while Scott's eyes widened slightly, "You saw the lacrosse thing today?" He asked and Derek nodded.

"Yeah."

"Did it look that bad?"

"Yes, very." Amara said and Scott sighed in embarrassment and Derek turned to Scott, "You want to learn? Let's start now." Derek opens a door next to the kitchen. He clicks on the light revealing steps leading down to Lahey's basement. "What's down there?" Scott asked and Amara sighed, "Motive." She said before walking down the stairs.

"What are we looking for?" Scott asked, "You'll find it." Derek says and Scott slowly steps down, stairs creaking underneath him. Moving into the darker recesses of the basement, he reaches out, feeling over the boxes, the musty wall. "Follow your senses." Amara said as she glanced around slightly.

"What happened down here?" Scott asked in a whisper, "The kind of thing that leaves an impression." Derek said as Scott continued forward, walking over to a freezer. Amara walked up to him and slowly opened the lid to the freezer, reveling scratch marks covering the walls.

Amara look at all the scratch marks and her eyes widened slightly. "This is why he said yes to you." Scott said turning to Derek, "Everyone wants power." He said and Amara shook her head.

"Not everyone wants power. But if someone had to go through this, they needs power to survive." She said and Scott sighed before looking at them. "If we help you, then you have to stop. You can't just go around turning people into werewolves." Scott said and Derek shrugged slightly, "I can if they're willing." He said..

"Did you tell Isaac about the Argents? About being hunted?" He said and Derek nodded, "Yes, and he still asked." He said. "Then he's an idiot." Scott said making Derek roll his eye and give him a look, "And you're the idiot who was Argent's daughter." He said.

"You already saw what they do to Omegas, that's why Amara is in my pack. With us, you learn how to use all of your senses. With us, you learn control. Even on a full moon." Derek said and Scott shook his head slightly, "If I'm with you, I'm in more danger." He said and Amara shook her head. "You're in danger no matter what, Scott. Especially with Gerard in town, you know that." She said and Scott sighed softly.

Derek turned to leave when Scott stopped him, "Wait. I'm not part of your pack. But I want him out. He's my responsibility too." Scott said and Derek furrowed his brows slightly, "Why? Because he's one of us?" He asked.

"Because he's innocent."

"Amara? Scott?" Allison called out as she walked up to the door of the basement, "Down here!" Amara called out. Allison walked out the stairs and shined a flashlight until she saw Amara crouched down in front if Scott who was on his knees breathing heavily.

"Did you bring it?" Amara asked and Allison nodded before setting a duffel bag down and Amara unzipped it and pulled out a handful of chains. "Are you sure we need to do this?" Amara asked and Scott looked up at them with glowing eyes and fangs, "Yes." He said and Amara nodded and started pulling out the chains.

"Where?" Allison asked and Amara pointed to the freezer, "There." She said making Allison point the flash light at it. A moment later, Amara helped Scott into the freezer and he sat down while she leaned her hands on the edge. "Just know, locking yourself in a box on a full moon isnt always the best idea. You might panic." Amara said and Scott nodded, "Close it." He said.

Amara sighed and closed the lid before Allison helped her wrap the chains around it. "Go upstairs." Amara said making Allison shake her head, "Amara, I can't-" Allison started to say but Amara cut her off. "Allison, go upstairs. If he gets out, you'll be the first he goes for." Amara said and Allison sighed, "But what about you?" She asked and Amara grabbed her hand.

"I heal and I have fire magic. I'll be fine, but I need you to go upstairs." Amara said and Allison stared at her for s moment before sighing and grabbing the flashlight. Amara leaned against the freezer and watched Allison walk up the stairs. Amara took a deep breath, crossing her arms over her chest while closing her eyes, something she did every full moon to ignore it.

Allison glanced around the house, shining the flashlight around before it started flickering. She hit it a couple times to get it to work but it just turned off making her sigh and set it down on the counter. She took a deep breath but paused slightly and covered her mouth as she heard a low hissing. She slowly glanced over to see a tall, dark figure standing in the darkness with glowing eyes making her scream.

Amara's eyes shot open as she looked up before taking her jacket off. "Amara? What's going on? What was that?" Scott asked and Amara closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Don't worry about it." She said before slowly opening her glowing golden yellow and firey red eyes.

The figure crouched down, staring at Allison while letting out low hisses as she backed up and grabbed a kitchen knife. "Come on." She said and the figure continued to stare at her, "Come on!" She yelled.

All if the sudden the door to the basement fell down as a black wolf with random ginger-red tips ran into the room. The wolf ran out in front of Allison, growling at the figure before the figure let out a hiss and leaped up to the ceiling. Allison and the wolf both looked up to see some giant lizards like creatures screech at them.

Scott ran up the stairs, holding Amara's jacket, pausing to look at the creature in shock before the creature's ran out the house. Scott quickly draped the jacket over the wolf, which quickly turned back into Amara. All three of them looking at the direction the creature had went.

"What the hell was that?" Allison asked and Amara shook her head slightly, "I don't know..."
