Aurora shut off her phone and wiped her sweaty palms along the fabric of her pants, her eyes trained on the television screen. she tapped her foot along the carpeted floor, quickly sneaking a glance at the blond haired boy beside her. He quickly met her gaze, offering a small grin. Aurora whipped her head back towards the television.
after their dinner, it'd been a few house until Walker could check into his hotel, so they decided to pass by time with a movie. Aurora offered for him to stay, as they had a guest bedroom, but he didn't want to impose.
She could feel exhaustion creeping up on her, but she did her best to keep herself awake. Her hands were resting on the couch, nails lightly running over the cushion. Aurora nearly jumped as Walkers fingers brushed against hers.
holy fuck. was that on purpose? Aurora did her best to avoid his gaze, not wanting him to realize the contact and pull away, just in case it was an accident. she was like a fucking statue.
she was sure she looked absolutely ridiculous.
her heart was wildly thumbing against her chest, and her fingers twitched against his as he moved his hand a bit closer, his palm now resting on the back of her hand.
Aurora glanced down, watching as his fingers curled around hers. His face. Oh god. His face. His loose curls hung over his forehead, and Aurora had to refrain from brushing them out of his eyes. His cheeks were flushed red, clearly unsure about his own actions.
Aurora reassured him when she tightened her grip on his hand, prompting him to meet her gaze. she smiled, dimples pressing.
the pair stayed just like that, hands intertwined as they watched the film on the television. well, up until Aurora pushed out a yawn. Walker frowned.
"tired?" he nudged her a bit. she only nodded, and he glanced down at the watch tied to his wrist. "we've still got an hour until i can check in. why don't you take a nap?"
"no, no i'm okay." she shook her head, eyes falling a bit droopy. she would feel bad for leaving him to watch the movie alone.
"really, i don't mind. we've had a long day. get some rest." he chuckled and playfully poked her cheek. she laughed at that, hesitating a bit before resting her head on his shoulder. she could feel him tense for a moment before relaxing under the weight.
Walker then rested his head on top of hers, and Aurora could feel a thousand butterflies in her stomach, just before she fell into a deep slumber.
