Now, what should I doâ¦â¦ While I am confused, a voice echoes in my head.
ãHey!! Who told you to make it worse! And you still call yourself a Royal Guard!ã (Cross)
!? It is the kingâs voice. Magic can do something similar, but the system in this city is kinda crazy.
ãNo, instead of saying I made it worse or something, it is not like I did anythingâ¦â¦â¦â¦ And in the first place, nothing happened when I got home.ã (Cry)
ãâ¦â¦â¦â¦ Do you have no heart?ã (Cross)
ãAre your eyes just for decoration!? Look closely at Alishaâs expression! When Alisha regained her strength, I thought even a 4 points would be usefulââBut I have a hard time understanding why people from the outside would think of you as a Divine Strategist!! And to top it all off, you said something that dealt the final blowã (Cross)
ãNo, when I asked her how she was, she said it was the usualââã (Cry)
Rather, it is hard to believe that this is coming from a man who was calling Ohii-sama a Spare until recently, has something changed inside him?
I glance at Ohii-sama, who is still completely frozen, and focus on the conversation in my head.
ãNo matter how you look at it, she is putting on a brave front! As a member of the Royal Guards, you should be able to sense the subtleties of your masterâs feelings!ã (Cross)
That is so unreasonableâ¦â¦â¦â¦ But even I can tell that something extraordinary is happening in Ohii-samaâs mind right now.
ãI know. If my deduction is correct, it looks like Ohii-sama wants to go outside.ã (Cry)
ãAnyone can see that just by looking at Alisha right now! Donât say that with so much confidence!ã (Cross)
Somehow it seems like I am always getting scolded. Did I do somethingâ¦â¦? No, maybe it is my fault because I did nothing. But now is not the time to talk about that. The future is what matters.
ãâ¦â¦â¦â¦ But the fact of the matter is, there is really nothing that I can do about it, right? This. And in the first place, I donât remember saying that I would let her go outside.ã (Cry)
ãAlisha, should have, simply accepted her imprisonment in silence! But you, have changed that, with your stupid actions! How dare you, come up with the idea of abusing the Mechanized Royal Guard Weapon Systemâ¦â¦ No, ãThatã is the type to notice loopholes in such a system, butââShe is, smarter than I expected. Her proficiency in the system is also considerable. Now I understand why a system for manufacturing humans requires the kingâs permission.ã (Cross)
The self-proclaimed king is constantly *butsubutsu* muttering things that I donât really understand. It is true that Ohii-sama might have been a little quieter until I arrived, but there is no point in saying that now.
And then, when I donât have any real solution to offer, the King of Code says.
ãâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ It is impossible to unlock Alishaâs door. The decision to imprison Alisha was made by everyoneââAnd the king does not go back on his words. Going against that will only lead to unnecessary misunderstandings. It will cause disorder. Do you understand?ã (Cross)
ãY-Yes.ã (Cry)
Even in the Zebrudia Empire, the emperor has full authority under the law, but that doesnât mean he can do everything as he pleases. It seems that this is no different in Code where the king has absolute authority.
I feel sorry for Ohii-sama too. If I were the King of Code, I would ignore the rules, you knowâ¦â¦ But if I am accused of being irresponsible, I would have no excuse. Then, after a moment of silence, the King of Code speaks in a heavy voice.
ãI will not open the door. So, if you want to take Alisha out of the room, you will have to unlock it yourself. By finding a loophole in the city system.ã (Cross)
ãEhâ¦â¦ It is not like I have particularly any intention of taking her outâ¦â¦ In the first place, I donât know any loophole in the city system.ã (Cry)
In fact, to be honest, I would rather just keep a low profile and stay quiet until Kaiser and Saya do their job. If the nobles in Code, the root of all evil, find out that I am someone sent by the Explorer Association, then we will be in big trouble.
ãHhâ¦â¦ Look! You will open the door to Alishaâs room! I will of course have to punish youââBut unfortunately, that will never happen. It is because I donât have time for this.ã (Cross)
Somehow this guy is saying some really crazy thingsâ¦â¦ The king speaks in a somewhat tired voice to me, who is speechless after he fires off words at a rapid pace.
ãWith my old age, donât let me see that being so sad anymore. Do you get it? To think I will be troubled like this at the end of my life, life is truly strange.ã (Cross)
Eh!? Sad?! She was sad!?
He says something that sounds like he has finally realized something, and then the call ends. I waited for a while, but I never heard his voice again.
I look at Ohii-samaâs frozen face. Now that he mentioned it, her eyes are *uruuru* watery and she certainly does look sad.
â¦â¦â¦â¦ Somehow, that man just nowâ¦â¦ I am starting to feel that he is actually the real king.
However, it is certainly true that it doesnât fit the situation. I am supposed to be here to stop the ambitions of the tyrannical nobles who are plotting world domination, but as far as I can tell, the only one being imprisoned is Ohii-sama, and that she is being imprisoned by the king himself, who is even telling me to open the door. I donât understand what is going on at all.
â¦â¦ It is not good. I alone will not be able to come to any conclusion if I think about it by myself. First of all, I have to do something about Ohii-sama. I *bambam
* bang on the door and say.
âOkay, okay, Ohii-sama! Donât be so sad! I will open the door for you!â (Cry)
ââ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦!? â¦â¦â¦â¦ How?â (Alisha)
Oh, she has started to move. The light in Ohii-samaâs eyes returns and she asks me back in a faint voice.
â¦â¦â¦â¦ How indeed? A loopholeâ¦â¦ In the system?
âThatâs, of course? By creating a loophole? In the system.â (Cry)
âThatâs, impossibleâ¦â¦ Besides, you cannot, go, against, the will, of the great, King of Codeâââ (Alisha)
Ohii-sama argues intermittently. Un, un, thatâs right. I think so too. I put on a badass smile in the meantime and say confidently.
âItâs okay, itâs okay. Thatâs because it is the will of the King of Code.â (Cry)
As if it is waiting for those words, Ohii-samaâs door slides open to the side.
!?? Noâ¦â¦ Eh? I havenât done anything yet? Huh? What about the loophole in the system?
â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ This cityâs system is full of loopholes, huh.
â!? â¦â¦??? Eh? â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ Eh?â (Alisha)
The door suddenly opening in front of her causes Ohii-sama to freeze again. After waiting for a while, she lifts her arm and her fingertips reach out to my cheek.
Ohii-samaâs fingers are a little cold and are shaking. She blinks her beautiful green eyes several times, then tilts her head with a slightly silly expression, as if she was dreaming.
âHowâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ H-How, did you, do it?â (Alisha)
ââ¦â¦â¦â¦ I found a loophole in the system, you know. â¦â¦â¦ You should also thank your papa for leaving a loophole in the system, okay?â (Cry)
Thanks for reading! So the loophole was the king, thatâs why Cry purpose took the incapacitating gas. He needed a timeskip! But too bad the reason the king asked Cry to go back asap is not because he was sick of Alisha throwing a tantrum, thoâ
