CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE - falling?

I woke up but didn't move and laid in his arms, eyes closed. He was lightly stroking my hair, probably still thinking I was asleep. "joder, que hermosa es" ("fuck, how beautiful she is") he mumbled. he was definitely thinking I was still asleep. I tried not to smile to not blow my cover. After a while, I pretended to wake up. "Good morning" "Good morning. You sleep well?" "Yeah." I softly kissed him. He kissed me back and I sat on top of him. "You're so handsome" he really is. Hector smiled and kissed me again. "Do you have to go today?" I said in between kisses. "Yeah. I can't miss training" "Just call in sick today and fly back tomorrow" "I can't miss training"
"You could stay" I told Hector while hugging him in front of security. "I would, but you know as well as I do that I can't" "I wish you could" He looked at me. "I'll see you soon. Okay?" I nodded even though neither of us know what soon is. A week? a month? more? less? I kissed him. I still get butterflies when I kiss him and my knees feel weak. This kiss was deep and sweet. I really needed it. He isn't my boyfriend, but this does feel like a long distance relationship and he is leaving. But he isn't my boyfriend. I need to remember that because I'm way too attached. He pulled out of the kiss, hugged me again and softly kissed my forehead. "You're amazing, remember that" he whispered. He stopped hugging me and just looked me deep into the eyes. "I'll miss you, I already do" I told him. "I'll see you soon" "soon" I said, then one last soft quick peck on the lips and he went away. Hector looked back a couple of times and the last time he did we both waved and he mouthed 'soon'.

"Jamal!" I yelled at him to get his attention after training finished "Yeah what's up?" "strength training?" "Yeah, but let me rest for a couple minutes." he opened a bottle of water and chugged some of it. "Is that boyfriend of yours not here anymore?" "Still not my boyfriend and he flew out this morning" "When will you see him again?" "If only I could tell you" "You're not a long distance type of girl, are you?" "If it were up to me, he'd be in my arms or me in his all day everyday" "That's cute. I like that type of love. You're lucky to have it" "What? Love? I don't love him yet" "No need to pretend" "I'm serious. I'm yet to fall in love with him" "I believe that you believe that" "You're a terrible friend" "I'm not" "By the way I saw you liking his post" "Yeah. Very cute how you were in more pictures than he was" "You are so invested in my relationship it's kind of cute and creepy" "So now it is a relationship" "Ugh shut up"
I got home exhausted and immediately wanted to lay down. There were two hoodies and a note lying on top. I picked up the note

What the hell have I done to deserve him? He is way too good for me. I picked up one of the hoodies and put it up to my nose. It smells like him. I laid down.

He called immediately after. We talked and mostly laughed for almost 2 hours before I had to go. I wore his hoodie to my lectures. I liked the classes today. Really interesting stuff. Though I got really tired. When I got home again I went to bed immediately.

The possibility for him and I to be a happy couple forever is not that big" "oh it is. You are like head over heels for him and he is like properly in love with you. There is no problem. Stop worrying. Get your man" "I am a person that worries and I'm scared to fall for him" "Don't be. Love is good. It's what we all need. You loving him will probably be the best thing in your life." "When I marry him and have his kids?" "Exactly" "But he doesn't want kids young" "How do you know that?" "We talked about it" "You talked about that?" "We talk about everything" "That is so amazing. I'm maid of honour right?" "Uh obviously that anyway." "You two will be so cute. Already are" "I'm still like scared I guess" "To fall in love?" "yeah" "You have an ex boyfriend" "I do" "Who you were with for like one and a half years" "yeah" "and you loved him" "not like this. Not even close. I'm not even in love with Hector yet, I just am extremely close, but I already know it's different"
