I was standing in the lobby of the hotel in my sweats. It was a few hours until the ceremony. I was still on the phone with Amine. "yeah I'll be back tomorrow." "You want to come over after class?" "yeah sure. I have to go now" "okay. I'll see you tomorrow. Good luck" "thanks bye" "bye"

I checked the boys location and they were only about 100m away which meant they were going to be here any second. I responded to my sister's text and when I looked up again I saw the boys go into the lobby.

"Elisa!" "Pau!" I ran over to him and hugged him. He picked me up. "Ive missed you hermanita" "me too, pau. Me too" he put me down. "Was that Amine you were texting with?" "You are so not getting a hug now, Lamine. Oh my god. You two have way to similar names. Im breaking up with him" "So there is something you can break up?" "Shut up Lamine. At least Im not talking to my ex who cheated on me" "She has a point" "Pau you have no girlfriend or ex-girlfriend" "bro" "im going to say hello to your parents. I go over to his place, we talk and laugh a bit, we hook up, talk about class and then I leave. "I believe hes catching feelings and Im not and that makes things complicated. If Im doing complicated, which I don't have the time or nerve to right now, I want to like the guy"

I was studying in my hotel room when there was a knock on my door. I got up and answered the door. "Elisa!" my little sister screamed and tightly hugged me. My little brother came to hug me too.  "Na? Wie gehts euch?" I asked them and after they left me go I kneeled down to their height. "Gut" Laura said. "Und du, Theo?" "Auch" the 5-year-old said. "Hola papá" I said and hugged my dad. "hola mija. ¿Todo bien?" "Sí sí. Por supersto" "¿estás nerviosa?" "solo un poco" "kein spanisch!" "Sorry, maus. Ich werd heute nicht viel deutsch reden" "aber ich spreche kein spanisch oder englisch" "papa ist ein super übersetzer. ¿Donde está mamá?" "En nuesto habitación. preparándos. ¿Por qué no estás preprarando?" "Estudio" "Vale necesita que preparando. Ves loca" "No veo loca. Ves loca, padre" "Mija. No hay necesidad de ser mala" He said and started messing up my hair. "Ai ai papá. ¡no! mi pelo, mi pelo" "Nos vemos lugar. Preparando" "sí, adiós"

I got ready. My hair is naturally wavy, but since I wear it up most of the time I just let it be. Today I straightened it. I did my makeup, fancier and prettier than usual. My dress was this dark blue silk dress, floor long and a slit on the left side. I layered three gold necklaces - the shortest was my grandmas, the one in the middle was my van cleef necklace and the longest my everyday necklace. I wore my van cleef bracelet. I wore medium bit hoop earrings.

"oh you look so great" "thanks mom. You too" I said while hugging her. I looked over to Lamine and Pau. They waved at me. "Go over to them" my mom said. "thank you mom"

"look at you two all suited up" I said while straightening Pau's tie. He took my hand and spun me around. "Look at you! You look great, very fancy" "Yeah she looks like an actual female for once" Me and Pau just gave Lamine a bitchy look. "Well this is a very fancy event" "Eh" "Guys I think it's red carpet time" "oh god I hate red carpets" "You'll do great. You look amazing" "Thank you, Pau" he kissed my cheek and went onto the red carpet. "You got anything nice to say?" "You're amazing. You look good. Be confident because you'll win the ballon d'or today" "Thank you, Lamine. I forget that you can be nice sometimes" "I am nice" he responded before giving me a kiss on the cheek as well and then going on the red carpet.

I was sitting front row between Harry and Mats Hummels. "I really like your playing style" Mats said to me. I've never talked to him before, but of course I know him. "Thank you. But  I have to ask now, were you cheering on Argentina or Germany during the final?" "Germany, obviously. Though I was living in Spain at the time and my friends hated me" "really?" "yeah the final was on the birthday of my friend and me. He's one of these biggest messi fans I know. He really didn't like me after the final" "wait you used to live in Spain?" "yes for 10 years" "who did you play for?" "barcelona" "I didn't know that. So do you know like Lamine Yamal" "Yeah, he's the friend who hated me after the final" "Seriously?" "yeah he's one of my closest friends"

We continued to talk for a few minutes till the ceremony started. The first trophy they announced was the new womens kopa trophy. It was obvious what name was going to be called. Still I was a little nervous.

"The 2024 womens kopa trophy winner, the first ever womens kopa trophy, goes to Elisa Felix." I stood up and walked onto the stage. I was handed my trophy and went to stand by the podium. "I'm incredibly honoured to receive this award. I had an incredible season. I'm extremely thankful for the support I got from my club, my country, my coaches, my family, my friends and so many more people without it wouldn't have been possible" "You turned 17 this summer. How does it feel to stand here being so young?" "It's unbelievable. A couple of years ago I watched these big players, putellas, messi, neymar and many more, in complete awe. Hoping to one day play a little like them. Today I get to receive an award in front of a lot of great players that I loved to watch and adored as a kid and still do now. It feels amazing" "You made your senior debut almost 2 years ago now. Would you have imagined to be standing here today?" "I was so young when I made my debut and after my debut everything just came together really fast. I quickly was a starting player for Bayern and started playing for Germany. I rose pretty quickly and everything happened so fast that I barely had any time to dream of something like this. Playing against all these great players and being compared to the best players in the world, at my age it makes me feel very special." "You are special for your age. You are a key player for both your club and country. How does it feel balancing football with the life of a 17-year old?" "It's difficult sometimes. I have training in the morning and school in the evening. I do really love it though. Football has always been my dream and being able to live it out in this extent at my age is great" "You have achieved a lot in football. Won several trophies, captained your country. What is next? What do you want yo achieve in football?" "Well there's still a champions league and ballon d'or to win, maybe a second world cup. But seriously it's amazing where I am at right now. I hope to keep it up as long as I can. I still have a lot of personal goals and I'll try my best to achieve them" "Thank you, Elisa" they said and I went back to my seat.

Mats and Harry both congratulated me. The next thing was the mens kopa trophy. Of course Lamine won that. It was very well deserved. They announced the mens and womens club of the year before a short break for pictures.

"You won!" "So did you!" Lamine said and gave me a quick hug. "Wow Im so proud of you two" "Next year is yours" Lamine and I both told Pau. "Lamine! Elisa! Pau! A picture?" A journalist yelled. "vale vamos, mis idiotos" I said.

The ceremony went on. More trophies being awarded. Till it was time for the Ballon D'or. Womens first as always. They showed the top ten.

They were introducing the announcement of the actual winner now. Not just the top 10. Pau and Lamine both looked at me. Mouthing "yours". I just shook my head in disagreement. Next year's might be mine, but this year is definitely Aitanas still. Im expecting third or fourth.

"The 2024 ballon d'or france football goes to Aitana Bonmati" I gave her an applause of course. I have always admired her style of play. Pau and Lamine looked at me again. Now mouthing "¿Todo bien?". I responded with a nod and mouthed "I told you guys". The top three was shown and there was my name. Actually in second place!

"I'm just saying you were robbed." "I so was not" "You scored almost double the goals Aitana did" "Still second place is fucking great for our age" "I'm 8th" "I'm not even on the fucking list" "You know who was like really robbed?" That's crazy" "Yeah hes crazy good" I responded to Pau. "Aren't you two kind of close?" "Yeah. He's a great person" "He didnt get a nomination?" "no! he didn't." "But you were so robbed as well" "I wasn't" "32 goals! You know how insane that is?"
