Heyyyy guys!!!! Here's another chapter!!!

Today, Chris and his friends were coming over so we could go roller skating. It's a place in town owned by one of my pack members. I've been wanting to go since my first visit to town.

Christmas music started playing through the house.

Lio must have changed the doorbell music again. Zach looked up at me confused.

"It's the doorbell," I mumbled, standing up.

"We're not even close to Christmas."

"Blame my brother," I shouted.

I opened the door and found Blake, one of the warriors tapping his foot and looking around.

"You okay, Blake? What's wrong?"

"It's Michelle. She's having her baby."

My eyes widened and I headed for the kitchen, Blake following me. "Is she alright? Is everything going well?"

"Yes, she's doing okay and the doctors aren't worried."

"That's good," I said as I grabbed my purse and spun around looking for my keys.

"What's wrong?"

I looked up at Zach. I had forgotten he was there.

"Michelle is having her baby. I'm going to go see her."

"Oh," he frowned thoughtfully, "I'll call the others and cancel the trip."

"No no, y'all go," I told him, grabbing my keys from the counter.

"What's going on?"

I looked towards the door. Lio was frowning at me with his arms crossed. How did I not hear him come in?

"Michelle had her baby!" I replied. "I'm sorry I won't be able to go."

"It's okay, Cami. We can go another time."

I waved him off. "Y'all go. It's fine."

He studied me. "You sure?"

"Lio, it's fine go."

"I don't mean to rush you Alpha but we need to go," Blake interrupted.

"Right, sorry," I hugged my brother and headed for the door.

"Hey, What about me?"

I turned to see Zach's arms wide open and a fake sad look on his face. I rolled my eyes as my lips pulled into a smile. I stepped into his embrace before leaving.

As I entered the hospital, many pack members bowed their heads. "She's in the second floor room 101," Clarisse told me. From what she told me, she has been working in this hospital since before I was born.

"Thanks, Clari," I smiled at her and took off to Michelle's room.

"Hey Alpha," Michelle said as soon as I entered her room. She had a big tired smile on her face. In her arms was a small delicate looking baby.

"Hey Elle," I sat in the chair next to her bed, " how are you feeling?"

She glanced down at her baby, a soft look in her eyes. "I'm tired but I can't stop looking at him."

I glanced down at the sleeping baby. "What's his name?"

"Markus."

"Markus," I repeated, "I like it."

Michelle and I had been talking for a while but her words were coming out slower and she couldn't seem to keep her eyes open for long.

"Hey," I said softly and reached for Markus, "I'll take care of him. You rest and recover, alright?" Her arma reached towards Markus but I gently pushed them back. She gave up and her eyes slid shut. Within seconds, she was deeply sleeping.

Markus slept peacefully. He looked so tiny in my arms. I turned my attention to the tv quietly playing a rerun of Friends.

As the show was ending, the door opened and Carson stepped in. He looked at his sleeping wife and child. "Hello, Alpha," he whispered walking towards me. "May I?" He asked, his arms outstretched towards Markus.

I stood and passed Markus to him. "Here sit." He had a worn out look in his face. He must have come back from patrolling. "Take a couple of weeks off, okay? Spend some time with them."

He looked at me in shock. "Oh, Alpha. I couldn't. I have a responsibility to the pack."

"I've seen your records, Carson. You haven't taken any vacation days. Think of this as all your vacation days put together."

He considered it. "Thank you, Alpha."

I smiled. "Well, I'll leave you to have some quality time. If you need anything, let me or the Beta know."

"Will Do Alpha."

I left and ran straight to the pack house. I didn't realize how late it was until I glanced at the clock. It was already 11'o clock at night.

I rushed to my room and fell asleep.

"Wake up!"

I sprung up and out of bed and landed in a fighting stance, looking around the room. The sun shone brightly into my room as Lio sat on the couch across the bed. I glanced at the clock. It was six in the morning.

"What?" I asked shooting him an irritated look.

"How's the baby?" He replied waving my glare off.

"He's great and very healthy," I answered. I picked my blanket off the floor and got back into my bed. "How was roller skating?"

"It was fun but I think a certain someone really missed you," he said, smirking at me.

I rolled my eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about."

He laughed, a little over exaggerated. "Starts with Eli and ends with jah. Ring a bell in that small brain of yours?"

I kept feigning ignorance. "And why would he miss me, exactly?"

"Oh C'mon. I saw y'all at the ceremony; holding hands." He raised a brow at me. "How'd that even happen? You barely know him."

A small, giddy smile covered my face. "Brace yourself," I paused for dramatic effect. "He's my second chance."

Lio jumped of the couch with widened eyes. "Really?" I nodded in reply. He practically ran over to hug me, a wide smile on his face. "I'm so happy for you."

"We're probably gonna take it slow. Get to know each other first."

"That's understandable," he paused, thinking. "At school, he's always so quiet and closed off. The only people he talks to are Chris and Matt."

"He's been hurt by his first mate. I've got to gain his trust, first."

How was I going to do that?

"It'll take time, Cami. Take it one day at a time." With that said, he left me alone to think.

Well, the first step to gaining his trust would be to spend time with him. Get to know him.

Hey! I was wondering if you'd like to              have breakfast with me at the dinner?

His reply came minutes later.

Yes. What time?

Is 8:00 a good time?

Yes. See you there

I quickly got ready and and headed towards the dinner. Upon entering the dinner, I learned something new about Elijah.

He was punctual.

He sat in a booth off in a secluded corner. He either isn't a people person or just doesn't like crowds, considering the dinner was packed.

I weaved through tables until I reached his booth.

"Hey," I stated as I sat down.

He gave me a small smile. "Hey."

"How's your morning so far?" I asked him.

"It's been good. I haven't done anything but head over here. How's yours?"

I slightly frowned . "Did I wake you up?"

He laughed a little. "No. You texted when I was deciding what to do today."

"Well, I'm glad you decided to come here." I grabbed the menu and started skimming through it. "What do you usually order?"

"The breakfast sandwich." I put the menu down and raised a brow.

"Really?"

"Yes." He raised a brow back at me. "What's wrong with it?"

"Oh, nothing?" I replied and grabbed the menu.

"What? Tell me." He asked playfully.

I put the menu down and shrugged. "Breakfast sandwiches taste weird."

"Oh really? Then what are you getting?"

I looked at the menu again. "Pancakes with chocolate chips."

"Now that's weird," he replied with a little eye roll.

"And why is that?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"How could you like something so sweet for breakfast?" He questioned baffled as he pointed at the menu.

"It combats my rudeness," I replied with another shrug.

He chuckled at my statement. "You're not rude."

"Maybe you just don't know me well enough."

"Hello, my name is Natasha. What can I get you to drink?"

"Water."

"A coffee."

She wrote it down and left.

"So, are you a caffeine addict?" He questioned.

I scoffed. "No. I could stop if I wanted to. I just choose not to."

Natasha came back with a water, coffee, and a small bowl with creamer. She placed it on the counter and pulled a small notebook out. "What would you like to order?"

"The breakfast sandwich, please and she'd like the chocolate chip pancakes, please." The waitress wrote it down and left.

So he's polite, too.

I pushed the bowl off to the side and took a sip of my coffee. "You like your coffee black?" Elijah asked.

I looked up to his surprised face. "Like my soul," I replied in a mock serious face. His eyes widened even more causing me to burst out laughing.

"But how? You like sweet food."

"I'm a little more complex than that, Elijah," I replied in a mock condescending tone. He rolled his eyes at me.

The food came and we took our time eating and conversing. Once finished, we payed and walked out. "You want to go to the park?" I asked, pointing to the park across the street.

"Sure," he grabbed my hand and pulled me in that direction. We began walking around the concrete track that looped around the playgrounds.

"So, what's your full name?" I asked him.

"Elijah Guerrero." He thought for a moment. "What's your favorite color?"

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Really? That's the best question you can think of?"

"It's a valid question," he defended.

"Fine. It's teal."

"What type of color is that?" He asked, completely confused.

I laughed before pulling out my phone and showing him a picture of the color.

"That's blue," he deadpanned.

"No. It's a mix of blue and green. Teal."

"Right," he studied the picture again and shrugged. "It still looks blue to me."

"How many siblings do you have?"

A smile covered his face. "Two. They're twins. They're so energetic and cute."

I smiled as he talked about them. "So you're a family guy?"

"Yeah. Family is everything to me. They're the ones who've gotten me through tough times."

"I'm glad we have the same views on family," I said, smiling at him. He looked down and returned my smile. We continued asking each other questions as we walked around the track. I lost count of the amount of times we went around the loop. At one point we walked over to a rocking bench and sat there.

"What time is it?" He asked.

I looked at my watch and rushed to stand up. "It's already 2:30 and I have a meeting at 3:00," I said turning to face him. He stood up with me.

"Before you go..." he trailed off and I looked at him, waiting for him to finish. He smiled nervously before reaching out and hugging me. "I had fun," he whispered.

"Me too," I replied, hugging him back.

"See you soon?" He asked nervously.

I grinned at him. "Definitely."
