Hey guys!! This chapter is the same, just tweaked a little bit!
~~~
"I, Alpha Darius Sharp, reject you, Camila Rodriguez, as my mate and Luna," he told me.
My heart dropped and I stuttered "what?"
"You're not good enough for me. Just look at you! You're weak!" He sneered, his face contorted into disgust. I knew that wasn't true, I was raised by warriors.
At that my shock disappeared and pushing the hurt aside, I laughed. Rejection wasn't funny, but it was the only thing preventing me from crying. "Look at me?" I retaliated. "Look at you! You're so shallow and cold. Why would I even want a mate like that?" I laughed again to seal the deal. I wanted to break down, but breaking the facade meant being vulnerable.
His face turned even colder and he growled. "I am still your alpha and I demand respect," He roared.
My face turned indifferent. My wolf wanted to submit to her alpha, but I pushed her down. I wasn't going to submit to someone meant to be my equal. I flick my eyes up and down his frame and raise a brow. "You?! My alpha?! Hmph. You're not my alpha because I, Camila Rodriguez, denounce my position as member of your pack."
I felt the connection breaking as did the rest of the pack. I turned and left him growling right in the middle of the forest.
I ran all the way home and silently went up the stairs. Walking into my room, my eyes zoned in on the punching bag in the middle of my room and I headed towards it. With a burst of anger and frustration, I punched the bag. Before I could hit it again, my parents walked in along with Lio.
"Cami, what happened?" Mom asks as they sit on my bed.
I turned and looked at them. "I was rejected by Darius," I said, cutting to the chase, "and left the pack."
They sat there for a second in shock before their jaws clenched and their eyes flared up.
Dad stood up, "He did what?"
I grabbed his shoulders and sat him down. "Look guys, I'll be fine. My whole world didn't revolve around finding my mate. I was happy before I found him and I'll be happy now," I took in a breath and continued, " More importantly, I've got to find somewhere to go."
At that, their faces fell. I sighed and looked down in thought. I had no other family other than the three people in front of me. My birth parents died when I was two, so they took me in and raised me along with their son.
"I got it," Mom said, snapping her fingers. "She could go to my parent's old house."
Her parents bought a new house closer to their daughter a few months ago but kept their old house. I've only been there a couple of times.
"Yeah, it could work. It's also on neutral territory so you could finish high school and figure out where to go," Dad said.
I mulled it over and nodded, "Sounds like a plan."
"Wait, y'all aren't seriously letting her go to Texas by herself, right?" Lio asked.
"Cariño, she's eighteen, it's okay," Mom told him.
"No way! It's not safe. I want to go with her."
"Emilio, you can't g-"
"Papá, she's not only my sister, but she's my best friend. She has to go to a new state and I don't want her going by herself. She's been by my side for the past seventeen years. I don't want to lose her," he pleaded.
"Lio, you're not losing me," I smiled grabbing his hand and giving it a squeeze. " I'm only going two states over."
"But still," he replied making me chuckle. He looked over at our parents pleadingly. They sighed and looked between us. "Okay." I smiled and hugged them.
"Thank you," i whispered and they smiled in return. I hugged Lio and smiled again.
"But," Mom said, "you're talking to Alpha Darius tomorrow before leaving, alright?" She asked, pointing at Lio. He nodded in return.
"It's a plan," he said.
Emilio's POV
"Come in," Alpha Darius' voice came through the dark wood after I knocked. He looked up as I walked in. "Take a seat, Emilio."
I sat and he raised a brow expectantly. "What do you need?"
He was calm and collected, as if he hadn't rejected his mate, my sister, yesterday. A spark of anger bubbled up and I took a calming breath. "I would like permission to leave for a year and finish my studies i-"
Before I could finish, he interrupted. "No, you may not leave."
I clenched my fist under the desk. "May I ask why?"
He leaned forward, a malicious smile on his face. "Do you really think I would allow your sister even an ounce of happiness after I rejected her? Having to go somewhere else alone would be painful, don't you think?"
The spark returned and turned into a flame. "Well then, you've left me with no choice. I, Emilio Kurri, denounce my position as member of your pack," I said as I stood up. I felt my bond with the pack break and walked to the door, stopping last minute I turned and gave him a sarcastic smirk. "Losing two pack members within 24-hours doesn't look well on an Alpha."
He sat there in shock as I left.
Camila POV
Lio and I took the whole day to get to my grandparents' house. It was one story with dark red bricks. The inside had three bedrooms  and a bathroom connected by a hallway. Next to the hallway, there was an open kitchen connected to the dining room and living room. The living room and dinning room were separated by a wall. It had beige walls and cherry wood floors. The house had many windows much to my grandpa's dislike.
"I call this room!" Lio said as he rushed into the biggest guest room.
"Not fair!" I groaned as I went into the next guest room. I put my bags down and started to unpack. Half way through, Lio popped in. " Hey, you wanna go eat something?"
"Yeah," I said as I nodded to my suitcase, "just let me finish here." He nodded and left.
I finished packing and walked to the living room. "Ready," I said to a sitting Lio.
He looked up from the TV. "Okay, vamonos."
"Where do you want to eat?" He asked as we drove through town.
I looked around. "Stop here," I said pointing to a McDonalds. He turned and parked. Walking through the door the scent of food and werewolves hit me. I looked around to see them looking at us confused. Lio and I were technically rouges but since we weren't crazed, we didn't smell foul. Lio and I ignored them and they didn't come up to us. We ordered and ate, soon leaving.
When we got home, the sun was setting. "I'm going on a run, okay?"
Lio turned and nodded. "Okay pero ten cuidado."
I nodded and left. Once I hit the tree line of the woods, I shifted into my brown wolf. She was a bit taller than the average female.
I took of running through the woods. The trees were tall and full, the ground full of leaves and twigs. I took turns and jumped over fallen trees. I sprinted, my hind legs burning. After a while of constant running, I heard water crashing. A mile later I ran into a clearing and stopped.
In front of me there was a lake with a waterfall. It was beautiful. I trotted over and bent down to drink. I lapped the water but froze when I heard a twig snap from my left.
I lifted my head and smelled the air. There was a pack werewolf. I turned and got into a defensive position. In front of me,there was a large black wolf with his teeth bared. He growled and I growled back. He jumped towards me and I jumped to the left. He skidded behind me and I turned, my warrior instincts kicking in.
The wolf stoop up and swayed a bit. He almost seemed... drunk? I studied him and realized he was indeed drunk. He swayed more and seemed dizzy. He looked at me but shook his head. He was probably seeing multiple versions of me. He focused on me after a second and ran at me. Instead of jumping, I ran towards him and slid under him, belly up, clawing at his stomach.
He was drunk and not at his best, but his injury sobered him up. Wolves couldn't be drunk for long anyways. He stood and growled at me, his injury healed. I watched him carefully.
He took a step back and shifted. Instead of a large black wolf, there was a man around his mid-twenties.
I took a step back and shifted. Thankfully we shifted with clothes on. As soon as I did, he ran at me. His fist tried swinging at me, but I grabbed it. He clearly underestimated me.
His other hand swung out, this time faster, and hit my side. I fell but quickly stood up. His fist was coming at my face so I ducked while punching his stomach. He stumbled before running toward me again trying to tackle me. I used his momentum as I bent to grab his legs and flip him behind me. He landed with a thud as I turned. I grabbed him by the arms and stood him up, putting him in a chokehold.
He struggled but couldn't get out. After five minutes of struggle he submitted to me and I let him go. He ran off and i headed to the lake for more water.
When I finished, I ran back home to a sleeping Lio.
I woke up feeling different, stronger. I shook it off and got ready. I entered Lio's room to see him tying his shoes. "You want to go eat, get groceries and explore the town?" I asked.
"Sure, let's go," he said, grabbing the car keys off his nightstand and heading for the front door. As we left the house, I felt a pull to the woods on the right. I felt almost compelled to walk that way. I shook my head and ignored it.
We got breakfast and the groceries and decided to walk around to explore. We parked in a park and hopped out. I looked around and saw many stores and restaurants. It seems the whole town is in neutral territory, yet there didn't seem to be many rouges out. The town was probably shared between packs.
As we walked around, we got shocked stares from many people. "You see this too, right?" Lio whispered, as he looked around. Most seemed to be bowing their heads at us.
"Yeah, What's going on?"
"Beats me. Just ignore it," he replied, looking ahead. But I couldn't. I felt a pull towards them, much like I did earlier at home. I was probably imagining things. I didn't know any of these people. There was no way I felt anything towards them.
We walked in a comfortable silence, but as we continued walking a felt someone staring at us. "You feel that?" I whispered to Lio.
"Yeah," He said as he slowly looked around and behind us, "but there's no one looking at us." I nodded and tried to ignore the feeling.
"Let's go get dinner somewhere," Lio said as the sun was setting.
"Sure, I saw a Wendy's a while back. Wanna go there?"
He nodded and we turned only to be met with two guys. We jumped back but before we could do anything else, I felt my hands being grabbed. I struggled and turned to see two guys holding Lio and I's hands back.
I tried kicking but the man in front of me grabbed my legs. Once he got them secured in his hands, which took a bit of time thanks to my struggling, they carefully placed us in the backseat of a truck.
They were kidnapping us, yet being careful with us?
Two of the men got in the front seats and drove.
I tried opening the door but it had child look. I turned to Lio panicked and saw him take a deep breath and mouth 'Are you okay?"
I nodded and raised a brow returning the question. He nodded and I took a deep breath. Once I calmed down, I felt that pull again but this time towards the two men in the front seat. My face scrunched up and my head tilted.
What was going on?
Lio tried talking and asking them questions but they didn't reply.
Before we knew it we were at a pack house and I was clouded with confusion. I couldn't even feel fear because the confusion overpowered that. The men in the front seat grabbed us and pulled us off the car, taking us into the pack house.
Without giving us time to look around, they pulled us up three flights of stairs and into an office. They sat us down in two chairs and stood by the door, their expressions serious.
A couple minutes later, a man in his early forties walked in. "Good afternoon ma'am. I'm Beta Ryan," he said, nodding at me and walking to the office chair. He sat and placed his arms on the desk, getting himself comfortable. "You're probably wondering why you're here?" He asked, looking at us both. Lio and I glanced at each other wearily before nodding.
Beta Ryan looked at me nervously as he fiddled with his hands. " I don't know how to tell you this," he took a breath before speaking, "My previous Alpha lost his position very recently. He was a year into his Alpha position and my son was to become his beta this year. But since he lost his position, many things have changed." I looked at him confused as to how this involved me. He ignored me and continued talking.
"The previous Alpha lost his tittle yesterday in a fight..." he trails off, taking another breath, "to you."
I freezed as I remembered the fight. "He-he was an Alpha? I made an Alpha submit to me?" I asked shocked.
He nodded and fidgeted. He looked at his desk before looking at me. "Making you our current Alpha."
At that my shock doubled and I turned to see a similar expression on my brothers face. I turned back to the Beta. "Come again?"
"You are the Alpha of the Rose Thorne pack."
I nodded my head slowly, processing.
I'm an Alpha.
I have a pack.
That's why I felt a pull towards the woods and people.
All these thoughts ran through my head, the first one repeating over and over. I shook my head in disbelief and looked at him questioningly.
"So, you're my Beta?"
"Actually I'm stepping down. My son was supposed to be taking my place since he turns twenty five soon, however he has no desire to be Beta. He was only taking the position because he was next in line. But since you are the same age as my youngest, we figured he could be Beta. He was trained along with his brother and is just as capable."
I nodded my head slowly as a question popped in my head. "Does he want to be a Beta?"
"He does," Ryan replied. I nodded and turned to Lio who still looked too shocked to respond.
"Could we continue this conversation in the morning?" I asked, looking at him.
"Sure, Alpha Rodriguez," he said standing up and heading to the door. "We have two rooms set up for y'all."
"Thank you," I replied, trying to get over the shock of being called Alpha. I pulled Lio up by his arm as we followed Ryan up another set of stairs.
He opened a locked door and handed me the keys. "All yours," he said before bowing his head and leaving.
"Thank you!" I called after him and pushed the door open. An open kitchen and living room area greeted me. I walked in and saw a hallway to my left and another to my right. I walked through the left one, many doors on both sides of the walls. I opened the door and saw a bedroom.
"You want this room?" I asked Lio. That seemed to shake him from his thoughts. He looked at me with wide eyes before yelling,
"You're an Alpha?!"
