"Have a safe trip, Ro," I said looking up at the king. In the days he stayed here, we'd become close friends. He couldn't understand what I'd been through regarding my rejection, but he did his best to be supportive and encourage me.
"Will do, Cami," He said with a small smile.
"And visit soon, alright?"
"Ah ah ah, its your turn to come visit me."
"Oh no, I get lost easily in big places."
He let out a laugh. "We'll see," He leaned in to hug me. He pulled away and got in his truck, off to start his 4 hour journey to the palace. Had he gone in wolf form, it'd easily be an hours run. But that's not as safe as a bullet proof car.
With the king gone, I ran over to Isa, grabbed her wrist, and started dragging her to my car. "What's going on?" She asked, her gone frantic.
"Oh, nothing. We're just going to the mall."
She let out a deep breath. "Why?"
"I like the food court's food." I drove to the mall and we headed straight to the food court. We crossed the crowded center, dodging people left and right. We quickly ordered food from different restaurants and found an empty table.
I quickly dug in, but was interrupted by the feeling of someone watching me. It was Isa, whose face was scrunched up.
"What?" I asked in a slightly defensive tone.
"You're a you-know-what, yet you have no manners." Our language was censored in human towns.
My defense was, "I'm hungry!"
"So am I, yet I'm not stuffing my face like you are!" She was trying to be stern but appeared to be holding back a laugh.
"You do you,"I stuffed more food into my mouth, mainly to annoy her further, which worked.
"Manners, Mila, manners!" She pointed a finger at me.
"Manners, Isa, manners!"I gestured to her pointed finger. "It is not polite to point"
She rolled her eyes at me. "Neither is eye rolling,"I told her, shaking my head in mock disappointment.
She rolled her eyes dramatically and laughed. "Shut up and eat."
"No que manners y no se que. Mira como te portas!" She only laughed in response and continued eating.
After some much needed bonding time, we returned home.
"Oh Honeeeey, I'm homeeeee!" Was heard coming from the front door awhile after we arrived.
I turned to Isa. "Your mate is weird."
She got a lovestruck smile on her face and looked at the kitchen door. "Yeah, I know."
Drew walked in and headed straight for Isa, hugging her. "Hey Hun."
I tuned out the rest of their conversation, my heart clenching. It was hard seeing mates together, but it was easier to handle now.
When I first arrived, I broke down very often. Just seeing mates together caused a meltdown. It wasn't exactly for Darius, but for the bond I'd never have. I wouldn't experience the connection nor the understanding that mates share. Everyone that talked about mates really hyped it up, and I wanted that.
I wanted my other half, my puzzle piece.
I took a deep breath, pushing my thoughts away.
"I'm gonna head up. See y'all tomorrow," I addressed them, interrupting their moment.
"Goodnight, Alpha."
With a smile plastered on my face, I left. Once out of sight, I dropped the smile and headed for my room.
"Wake up Camila!" I heard as light was shined on my face. I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. My brother was standing by the curtains. He walked towards me and kissed my forehead. "Ãndale. No tenemos todo el dÃa. We have school."
"Actually, you have school. Why are you waking me up?"
"I made us breakfast so hurry,"he replied as he left my room.
By the time I got downstairs, Lio and Zach were waiting for me. "Finally!" Lio exclaimed, throwing his hands up and staring at my face. "What took you so long, huh? You look the same."
I rolled my eyes at him while Zach tried to hide his chuckles. I walk up to Lio and flick his forehead.
His hand covers his forehead as he frowned. "Ow. What was that for?"
I rolled my eyes, again, and sat at the table. Lio already had everything set up so I grabbed the plate and served myself. Lio and Zach joined me at the table. "Thanks, Lio."
While Lio and Zach went to school, I caught up on my paperwork and worked on my college online courses. My focus was in business to take over the pack's company after I get my degree. When I became Alpha, the pack's financial situation was horrible due to the previous Alpha neglecting his duties and Ryan having no clue how to run a business. One of the pack member's mate studied business in school and has been helping out.
After a couple of hours, I decided to grab a couple of books from the human town. The trip through the woods was very long, as a safety precaution. However, once out of the woods, the town square was a few minutes walk. Many stores surrounded the town square, that consisted of a water fountain and multiple benches. I cut through the town square to get to the book store.
I went past the check-out counter and directly to the shelves of books. After a while of looking into the fiction section, the bell on top of the door rang and I sensed two powerful presences. I peeked around the shelve and observed two guys who appeared to be holding the Alpha position. They were looking around the bookstore until their eyes landed on me. As they began walking towards me, I stepped out of my hiding place waiting for them to reach me.
They studied me before the tallest one spoke, "I'm Alpha Martinez."
"And I'm Alpha Alvarez. You are?"
I was not planning on letting anyone know about me being an Alpha, but I'm caught. I really did not think there would be other werewolves from other packs in a human town.
"I'm Alpha Rodriguez."
"And why is it that your presence as an Alpha is twice as strong as ours and every other Alpha?" Alpha Martinez asked.
