This time, Yang Zhen really was startled, far more than when the damned cat told him he wasnât human.
He had really messed up this time. Not himself, but the demon in front of him, clearly on the platform yet invisible to him, had messed up.
An evil creature heâd never seen, never even heard of, kept saying it had been waiting for him here, that he was finally here, that it had something to give him. It sounded as if it wanted to trust him with the universe, letting him play with it as he pleased.
The key point was that it seemed that this evil entity looked down on him!
Damn it!
Yang Zhen cursed, looking dumbfounded at his surroundings as he asked, in a tone of endless irritation, âWho are you? Do we know each other?â
This time, Yang Zhen used his Spirit Soul power. The thunderous sound filled the entire platform. The horrific sound waves should make it impossible for the evil entity not to hear him, as long as it retained any shred of sanity.
However, it seemed as if the creature truly didnât hear him. It left no trace, except for a pervasive evil aura, directly corroding Yang Zhenâs soul.
If Yang Zhenâs soul were attacked by such an evil aura, he might become like a walking corpse, unconscious, and intent only on endless killing.
The most ridiculous thing was that this evil force seemed to invade passively. The aura wasnât even doing anything â it was just there, and Yang Zhen couldnât handle it. Who could?
No wonder it sounded as if it looked down on him.
Yang Zhen stood bewildered. If that creature wouldnât come out, he would just have to stand his ground.
At that moment, the damned cat suddenly yowled and slapped Yang Zhen on the shoulder, saying, âWake up! Wake up, man! What the hell are you doing?â
Yang Zhen started, suddenly coming to his senses, and saw an enormous cat rear end in front of him. Instinctively, he slapped it.
The damned cat shrieked, spun a full 360 degrees in the air and, as if burned, quickly sprang up again.
Seeing that Yang Zhen had returned to his senses, the damned cat heaved a sigh of relief, lifting Yang Zhenâs eyelids and letting out another sigh, âYou almost scared me to death! You looked terrifying just now. You almost gave me a heart attack.â
Yang Zhen had no patience for the damned catâs nonsense. He asked blankly, âWhat happened to me just now?â
âYou donât know?â The damned cat paused, grinning, âJust now, your eyes were bloodshot, like you were going to turn me into barbecued cat. Suddenly craving for cat meat? Didnât you say it tastes sour?â
Damn it, who said cat meat tasted sour!
Yang Zhenâs eyes flashed with terror. He took a deep breath and asked, âDid you hear a voice just now?â
âA voice?â The damned cat shook its head and said, âI didnât hear anything. But you were panting like a dog in heat. This place is freaking weird. Your roaring is damn annoying. Letâs get out of here.â
Looking at the damned cat, certain it was not talking nonsense, Yang Zhenâs face changed color.
The damned cat couldnât hear the voice, which meant the voice was actually speaking to him.
Oh boy, this was fun. Deadly fun!
Yang Zhen ignored the damned cat, walked to the center of the stone platform, and cursed loudly, âCome on, you son of a turtle! Come out if you have the guts, come out, come out, come outâ¦â
âAh!â
Yang Zhen raised his energy to its peak, gesticulating wildly, bellowing till everything shook, âI, the Sao Saint, was beating up the old folks at the Nanshan Sacred Palace Nursing Home when I was ten, and at thirteen, I was kicking around the North Sea Divine Temple Kindergarten. Iâve never been scared. You said you have something for me, so give it to me already.â
The lowly cat gaped at Yang Zhen in confusion, mumbling to itself, âHoly smokes, as a master of cursing, I take my hat off to you. Everyone else can thank their lucky stars theyâre not in my shoes.â
After cursing for a while, Yang Zhen felt a bit thirsty. He grunted, âNot coming out, huh? Wait till this Sao Saint drinks a bottle of â82 Water Spirit Marrow, and then we can continue cursing. Oh, where did we leave off?â
âHeâs bald and doesnât need a light bulbâ¦â
The lowly cat swallowed hard and prompted him from behind.
âRight, youâ¦â Yang Zhen was about to speak when a sigh wafted over, saying, âYou failed, youâve ultimately failed. Iâve failed too but⦠itâs normal. Nobody can escape the will of Heaven and Earth. Itâs very normal. Everyone⦠has failed.â
âHoly crap, is he having a Lazarus moment?â Yang Zhen leapt in fright. The fellow who had virtually been on his deathbed a moment ago was now speaking fluent sentences. He was nearly on par with the Sao Rooster.
Clearly, the lowly cat heard it too. It startled, fur standing on end, body arching up, tail high, ready to pounce, but it was all for naught. In fact, it was rather comical.
Upon hearing that voice, Yang Zhen smirked and said, âMate, can you tell me first who I am? Am I also a reincarnated being?â
âNo, youâre not. Youâre not him, but your auras are similar.â
âMaybe Iâm a semi-finished reincarnation product. You did say that you all failed, right? You know, semi-finished products are like that. Oh, by the way, who are you, mate? You seem to carry a big aura. Could you be some demon king who once caused the end of the world?â
The voice laughed heartily and then sighed, âInteresting, quite intriguing. The thing is here, now itâs entirely up to fate whether you can obtain it. My end is near; itâs time to return this to Sanhua. She⦠sheâs also a pitiful one, donât fail her!â
What the hell? If Yang Zhen was to not fail every pitiful woman he came across, his entire home, even if it was the size of an entire real estate business, wouldnât hold them all.
âMate, donât die just yet, at the very least, tell me who you are. And about that thing, wonât you give me a clue?â
ââ¦..â
The voice hesitated for a moment before slowly saying, âLife is like a dream with three thousand turns, if you can stay awake, then donât fall asleep.â
With that, the immense evil aura all vanished. The entire platform began to dissipate, and countless rocks fell off, the terrifying iron chains were like they had been touched by a disintegration programme, turning into twinkling specks before vanishing into the universe.
Boom!
A series of colossal airwaves descended from the sky. They flowed into the entire Tri-Floral Temple, which was full of dazzling light and overflowing with the scent of flowers. The whole Tri-Floral Temple transformed from a hell of evil into a heavenly fairyland, magnificent and tranquil. The twang of music was faintly audible, the whispered words were hard to make out, yet they imparted a soothing aura.
A grey bead, devoid of any aura, floated quietly in mid-air like a newborn baby entering deep sleep. As it breathed in and out, it seemed as if it could absorb the entire universe.
Getting confused, the lowly cat clung onto Yang Zhenâs trouser leg, gazing stupefied at the unbelievable sight before him, and suddenly shrieked, âDamn, is that item left for you by that chap? This is big, really big! This fellow calls himself Spirit Soul and keeps mentioning Sanhua. Heâs clearly not just any deity, but a revered saint?â
Yang Zhen didnât pay attention to the lowly cat. He glanced down at it, swallowed nervously, and muttered to himself as if in a trance, âHe saidâ¦heâs returning this thing to me.â
âTsk, just give it if he wants to give it. Why make it sound like heâs returning it⦠What the hell, what did you just say? Returning?â The lowly cat shrieked, almost falling from Yang Zhenâs trouser leg.
âKid, are you a reincarnated being as well?â
âHe said⦠Iâm not!â
âDo you believe him?â
âI do!â
Damn reincarnation! Yang Zhen was a soul transmigrator, not a reincarnate; this was something he was more sure about than anyone else in the immortal cultivation world.
