After getting Uncle Wu, Aunt Wu and Li Xiaoling, the four of them went to the Hot Spring Scenic Zone in Xiao Quan City after a twenty-minute drive. What Chen Hao didn’t expect was that the Hot Spring Scenic Zone was already packed with people, luxury cars and even hawkers and vendors; it was like a New Year festival being held here.

It’s so lively! Chen Hao exclaimed internally. Upon closer inspection, the entire path from the entrance of the zone to the hotels was covered in a red carpet with personnel rushing about everywhere. If it weren’t for Li Zhenguo’s car, Chen Hao would have had trouble believing all this was for his birthday celebration.

“Oh dear, there are so many people here. Chen Hao, which hotel did you make your reservation at?

They must be fully booked by now!” Li Xiaoling said with confusion.

“Yeah, Chen Hao. Let’s just settle for a restaurant in town and if that doesn’t work out, Aunt Wu can always cook for you all. It’s not just crowded here, but expensive too!” Uncle Wu said.

“It’s alright, let’s go in!” Chen Hao smiled bitterly. At this point, there was nothing for him to hide anymore, especially considering that this banquet was hosted in his honor.

He was just about to explain himself to Li Xiaoling, Uncle Wu and Aunt Wu when Wu Feng walked over with several young men and women. “Grandpa? Grandma? What are you two doing here?” he said upon noticing them.

“Feng, why didn’t you say something about your grandparents coming? The personnel would have been able to let them in for a bit! After all, we’re all just waiting for our boss to come!”

“Ahem, that’s because the boss came for personal reasons. He’s not here for proper work, so how can we trouble the Zone’s personnel like this?” Wu Feng said. “Besides, my own parents are just looking around too.”

“We’re here to celebrate Chen Hao’s birthday. Oh yeah, where are your parents?” Uncle Wu said.

“Pfft. Celebrate his birthday? Then why are you here? The whole place is booked!” Wu Feng sneaked a glance at Chen Hao; he knew full well his grandparents were the ‘innocent farmer’ type, so they wouldn’t be the ones to suggest going there for the celebration.

How nice of Chen Hao to drag these clueless old people over for a birthday celebration when the place was clearly booked. This was an embarrassment to Wu Feng, especially in front of his colleagues.

Just then, the three Wu brothers walked over with Wu Jie and Wu Qian. “Mum? Dad? Why are you two here?” the eldest asked in confusion.

Apparently, they’d already known about the upcoming banquet that was supposedly held in the honor of a bigshot, with celebrity guests and everything. So, knowing that the banquet offered a chance for both fun and networking with influential people, they’d practically brought the whole family.

“Hmph! Why else? This Chen Hao drove them here!” Wu Feng snapped and told them everything that just happened.

“Ha! How bold of you. Look around you, look at where you are now! Considering the occasion going on today, how exactly are you going to celebrate your birthday in the Hot Spring Scenic Zone?!” Sun Hongxia scoffed with her arms crossed. If Chen Hao could make it in today, then wouldn’t that make him better than her own daughter? That would be impossible!

“Yeah, Chen Hao! I thought you’d just settle for a restaurant in town, but here in Xiao Quan City? You should have just told us to bring them, instead of showing off by yourself!” Zhang Xiqi chimed in.

“Alright, stop that. It’s his birthday and he said he’s treating us to dinner. You all seem like you have nothing to do, so why don’t you join us once Chen Hao finds his reservation?” Uncle Wu said.

“What? We’re not free, Dad. Your son just bumped into a few of his colleagues, and we’ve all agreed to have dinner together. Why don’t you join us?” Luo Ning hastily replied, then turned to Wu Feng. “Feng, Jie, carry on. Don’t waste your time here, and remember that once your bosses get here, be a little more alert and responsive!”

Wu Feng and his colleagues nodded, then glanced at Chen Hao before leaving; this was indeed an important occasion for them.

Wu Qian, on the other hand, had been watching Chen Hao from the sidelines. In the past, he would have lowered his head out of shame in the face of those relentless mockeries from her mother and aunts. But ever since she’d found out his connections to the Zone, she noticed that he’d merely smiled his way through it all; it was as if none of that mockery affected him anymore.

Why was he so confident? And where did that confidence come from? Had he really become successful? It was this unexplainable feeling that worried Wu Qian. She’d already been fearful of hearing any more good news about Chen Hao, so she didn’t even mention the events of that day to her parents. Now that Chen Hao had swaggered up here, claiming he had a reservation, Wu Qian was legitimately concerned!

“Wu? Hey, it really is you!” an old, but strong voice called out. When Chen Hao turned to look, he saw an old man walking over with his family of four.

“Wang! I never thought I’d see you here!” Uncle Wu replied excitedly as Wang’s family came to greet them.

When Chen Hao saw the two people behind the middle-aged woman, he froze —it was Wang Min and Wang Xiao.

“I still had no idea of the result of the blind date between those two kids the other day. Xiao Min here wouldn’t tell me either! I was just about to ask you, what the heck is the matter with Chen Hao? Does he think he’s too good for my daughter or something?” Wang jokingly said.

“Dad, stop talking about that Chen Hao guy. Maybe he thinks he’s too poor for our daughter, and that’s why he backed out. Don’t put him under the spotlight like this,” Wang Min’s mother interrupted. Who knew that the old man would talk about that blind date the moment they all met up? What was there to discuss, really? She was certainly against this match, but her father was acting like Wang Min was that desperate to be married off.

“Ahem, Wang. This is Chen Hao. I’ve also been wondering what happened that day!” Uncle Wu pointed to Chen Hao.

“Wait, that’s him?” Wang Min’s mother suddenly fell silent out of embarrassment and merely glanced at Chen Hao twice.

Wang Xiao, on the other hand, walked right up to him in pleasant surprise. “Chen Hao, we meet again!”

Chen Hao gave her a faint smile. At the sight of this, Wang Min felt embarrassed, feeling that Chen Hao treated her sister better than he treated herself.

“Mum, Dad, look! Isn’t that Chen Hao?” At this moment, another girl walked over while pointing at Chen Hao.

“Hmph! So what if it’s him? He probably came here to broaden his horizons!” the middle-aged man scoffed.
