Chapter 687: Chapter 698 The Great Ancestor of the Gu Family

“Chen Hao is here?” Tie Cheng was still oblivious of the whole situation.

“Hahaha! We can get out of here soon. Damn it! Just wait and see, you Gu Family! I will set this whole place on fire when we’re out of here!” Bai Xiaofei barked out of fury.

Meanwhile, Chen Hao and Gu Yuxiao were currently in Gu Yuehong’s room. The arrangement of furniture in her room was rather simple; there was a table located at one side of the room and behind the table was a bookshelf.

“This is where the secret room is located?” Gu Feng asked.

“Yeah. Grandmother has two secret rooms in total but I’m not sure whether you know about it. Last time, grandmother had a hidden secret room located in her private study. That’s the place where she locked up the lady in white. I saw grandmother come out of there before when I was little. So, I think the way of opening its entrance should be the same as the secret room in her study,” Gu Yuxiao explained.

As she spoke, Gu Yuxiao walked over to the side of the table and carefully turned a penholder on it. As expected, a series of clicking noise was heard while rotating the penholder. Following the noise, the bookshelf shook as it slid across to one side, revealing a dark passage heading down the basement in front of the duo.

“Is it your first time to see this secret room?” Gu Feng asked when he saw Gu Yuxiao staring at the entrance in surprise.

“Yeah. This one is totally different from the other secret room. And I suppose you can feel it too.

There’s this creepy and eerie atmosphere at the entrance, right?” Gu Yuxiao asked in confusion and shock.

“Let’s go in and have a look first. Stay behind me!”

Indeed, Chen Hao felt the eeriness at the entrance too. Besides, he could feel an unusual aura being emitted from the inside of the passage, which made Chen Hao shudder greatly.

Both of them were currently walking into the passage. It was a long passage with lots of hidden grids embedded in the walls; different objects were placed in the grids. Gu Yuxiao lit an oil lamp inside the passage and looked around.

“Found it!” She was delighted as she took a blue colored jade amulet.

“Its surrounding aura is almost the same as those magic tools on Bai Xiaofei and Tie Cheng. This must be it! Come one, let’s get out of here quickly!” Chen Hao suggested. He was a little concerned as he felt the strange aura in the passage growing stronger and stronger.

“Okay!”

But as soon as they turned around, a loud deafening sound was heard and the entrance was blocked by a huge rock. All of a sudden, the entire passage was dead silent.

“Ah!” Gu Yuxiao, who was about to step forward and have a look, suddenly got sucked deeper into the passage by a huge suction force. She let out a wail.

Chen Hao could feel the strong suction force too. So, he attempted to block it by using his Heaven Abstruse Skills. However, as the suction force increased, Chen Hao could no longer withstand the force. Losing his focus, he was being sucked into the dark hole too.

Thump! Thump! With two loud thuds, both Chen Hao and Gu Yuxiao hit the ground. They were in an attached stone room. The surrounding light was lit, which illuminated the room brightly, when they fell into the room. An apparition-like dark shadow was seen floating and circling around the room.

“Haha! I’ve waited so long. Finally, there’s someone other than Gu Yuehong who’s willing to come in here. Perhaps both of you are the descendants of the Gu Family?” An old but loud voice was heard coming from the dark shadow; the voice was deafening and frightening.

“Who are you? How did you get into our house?” Gu Yuxiao asked in surprise.

“Hahaha! Your house? This… is my house! It is I who established the entire Gu Family by my own hands! You two little kids are merely my descendants!” As the dark shadow spoke, it slowly shapeshifted and finally changed into a form of an elderly man in front of the duo. The man’s disheveled hair was white and his long beard was left hanging in front of his chest. He looked like an old Daoist who had achieved enlightenment.

“What did you say?” Gu Yuxiao was startled.

Chen Hao also glanced at the elderly man in surprise. He noticed that the man’s form of existence was almost the same as the spirit of the lady in white, but there were some differences between them. One of the differences was his malevolence. Another one was the amount of energy he could release was much stronger than the lady in white. The current lady in white was just a normal spirit before fusion and this was exactly what distinguished her from the elderly man. The man could actually materialize his energy, which was quite strong.
