“I broke her mobile and that’s the reason she visited the mobile store today. She walked in like a middle-class girl with only four thousand in her hands. She could be living a royal life, like a queen, like my wife but she chose not to! She is living in my home like a servant, sleeping on the corner of the floor. She didn’t even try to disturb me for once!”“Ravi, I can’t understand what’s going on! She is the one I love despite my heart wanting to hate her!”“Surya, please don’t be upset about it,” Ravi tried to console him.“No Ravi, I feel something’s out of my reach, something I can’t get to know about!”“Even my senses tell me the same! Surya, Let’s go home. Come.”Surya chose to follow his words and Ravi took him to his place.Ravi is the only son and his parents reside in Chennai. Ravi’s father suggested Ravi build his own business but Ravi refused as he wasn’t interested in being distant from Surya.Ravi felt miserable, looking at Surya, “What’s running in your mind, Surya?”“Ravi, I want to know about her. I want to know why she agreed to marry me. Why did she choose to lead a miserable life with me? It was my mistake to judge her character without knowing completely about her. I want to enquire about her!”“Makes sense! But how are you gonna achieve that?”“Let us enquire her parents?”“There’s no guarantee they might tell the truth! They want their daughter to be out of trouble.”“Might be. What do you suggest then?”“Surya, let’s think about it later. You must go home, it’s getting late.”Surya nodded his head and reached his bungalow.The clock’s almost hitting 12 and everyone was in deep sleep.Surya walked into his room and he seemed like a forlorn person. The room was illuminated because of the bedlight. Sandhya was sleeping at the same place she sleeps everyday. To his surprise, he didn’t even eye her all the time.She was sleeping on the other side. Her beauty was attracting him. She was like a baby, who was pure at heart.Surya was standing still. All of a sudden, Sandhya’s phone rang. She jolted awake and Surya hid in the room within the glimpse of an eye. She looked at the empty bed and felt relieved as he was not there, “Thank god!” she thought and picked up the call.“Hello Maggie!” she started talking lovingly. Surya wasn’t aware of who was on the other side. He observed Sandhya weeping, “Maggie, my love, you are almost there! It will just take a few more days for you to be completely normal. And by that time, I’ll finish the job I’m doing now and we can live together happily, okay?”She was wiping her tears, disconnected the call, and went back to sleep. He waited till she fell asleep and walked to Meenakshi’s room as if an idea struck his mind. He saw her sleeping and woke up even though he didn’t want to, “Mom!”She woke up anxiously, “Surya, What happened?”“Mom, I’m going to Mumbai for 10 days because of urgent work”“Son, do you have to go for that long?”“Yeah mom, I have to!”She was well aware of his decision when it came to business development and she agreed even though she didn’t want to, “Please be careful son. I will be worried about you. Do remember that!” she said.“Sure mom. I will leave for the early morning flight before you wake up. Okay?” he said and walked out. He rested on the sofa for some time and packed all the necessary office files and a couple of clothes. He packed all of them in the car and left.
