Chapter 140 Prison Friend
Gwendolyn was shaken. âHeâs a Warrior King?â
William nodded. âHe also has a senior whoâs a Martial God.â
Gwendolyn was shocked, but she was also delighted. âYouâll become stronger than they are soon.â
William was confident about that too. The third eye he had was helping with his training tremendously. He was sure he could be a Martial God before thirty years old and even surpass his seniors.
They made small talk, and Gwendolyn said, âSupperâs ready. You should cat.â
William hadnât had dinner, so he nodded. After he started on the path of cultivation, William started having a big appetite, so Gwendolyn hired two chefs just to cook for him. There were four dishes and a bowl of soup on the table, along with some snacks.
William was famished, and he finished all the food in a few minutes.
Gwendolyn smiled. âIâm going back to Kreim tomorrow, but Iâve told the chefs to stay and cook for you.â
âWhy so sudden?â
âDadâs factories got in trouble. The products arenât selling, so cash flow is tight. I need to help him.â
Gwendolyn sighed. âGrandpaâs factories are in Kreim, and it produces items worth four and a half billion. every year. The main products are fertilizers, polyester fabric, refined petroleum, and distilled items. He has been taking out loans just to expand the business, but the economyâs been bad this year. Sales dropped, and we have too much leftover stock, so the cash flowâs getting tight.â
âHow will you solve it?â
âNo idea.â Gwendolyn smiled bitterly. âOne step at a time, I guess. A Kreim company about ten times our size wants to purchase our company. If push comes to shove, Grandpa would sell the factory.â
William frowned. âAfter all the hard work heâs put into the business! Thatâs a shame.â
Gwendolyn looked resigned. âWhat choice do we have? Either we sell the business, or the cash flow breaks and we file for bankruptcy. Selling the company off is a better choice.â
âHow much are they offering?â
âA hundred and fifty million. Not a good price, but no one else can afford us.â
âBut your companies can at least make a fraction of that every year. That offer is too low. William shook
his head.
âYeah. We made about a hundred and thirty million last year alone.â
William mused over it. âIf you have money, the companies can keep running, correct?â
Gwendolyn nodded. âThe marketâs always changing. If I have one year to run this, I know we can get back on track. The problem is, the bank wonât approve our loans anymore.â

âA lot. Three hundred million for the short term. About five times that in the long term.â She shook her head. âGrandpaâs been agonizing over that.â
âTil come up with something. If itâs a loan you need, then thatâs what weâll get.â
âCan you really help with that?â Gwendolyn couldnât believe her ears.
William nodded. âI have connections. I can find out why the banks wonât approve your loan, and then weâll settle the matter.â
Delighted, Gwendolyn hugged him. âThank you, William!â
Williamâs heart skipped a beat, and he wrapped his arm around her. Gwendolyn shivered and leaned on his shoulder, her face red.
William looked at the second floor. His mother and sister were asleep, so he cleared his throat and said, âWe should take this to my room.
Gwendolynâs face got redder, but she said yes, though it was barely a whisper. Delighted, William was about to take her to his room for deeper research, but then someoneâs phone rang.
Oh, who the hell is it? It was Dorian, and the sight of that name brought joy to William. He quickly took the call. Took you long enough, Dorian!â
A girlâs voice asked, âAâAre you William?â She sounded young.
William frowned. âYes, and who are you?â
The girl started crying. âMy brother told me about you. He said youâre a strong guy. CâCan you save me?â
âWait, youâre Dorianâs sister?â Williamâs heart sank. âWhere is he?â
âTâThat woman killed him six months ago, and these men are keeping me under close watch. They forced me to sell myself. IâIâm in a living hell. You have to save meâ¦â
Just then, someone roared, âWho the f*ck are you calling, you b*tch?â A loud bang erupted, and the call went dead. Someone had smashed the phone.
Williamâs face fell, and murder filled the air around him. When he first got into prison, he was just a weak college kid who had no idea how to even fight, so he was on the lowest rung of the prison hierarchy. He was beaten up on the first day and was forced to do the worst jobs in prison, and he wasnât even given anything to eat. It only took a few days for him to give up. He thought he would die.
It was then a man a few years older than him handed a bun to him. He had a scar on his face, and that man. was Dorian Franklin, William could never forget the look in his eyes when he gave him the bun. There was passion and genuine concern in his gaze. He couldnât believe someone in prison could have that kind of gaze, and it stirred up bravery within him.
âFirst thing you have to do in prison: survive. Iâll talk to the warden and see if you can get a desk job.â Dorian then left.
After that, no one tried to bully William again. Dorian vouched for him, saying he was a good college kid, so no one was allowed to bully him. Eventually, they became close friends who would risk their lives for
each other.

After that, William got the legacy, so he helped Dorian shorten his sentence. Dorian was released six months earlier than he was. He would call a lot at first, but eventually, the calls stopped coming, and William couldnât contact him either. Since he was in prison, he couldnât find out where Dorian was either.
He did use his connections to seck Dorian out after he was released, but they found nothing It was as if Dorian had disappeared into thin air. And now, Dorianâs sister told him he was dead. âIâll make your killer pay for what they did. Dorian,â William growled, murder flaring in his cycs.
