Chapter 18: Chapter 16

She stood with the trophy in her hands with a sad look on her face. As she scanned the crowd, she could not see anyone but Daisy. Her dad, her papa and her boyfriend who had promised to come to see her on the stage for her dance competition, had bailed on her.

Even the certificate, trophy and the cash prize of the first position didn't lighten up her mood. It was the first time ever that she was on stage and three people she cared about had missed it.

As she came backstage, she threw everything on her make up table and dialed her dad's number but off course it was busy. Her papa was also not picking up her call. She didn't call Mason as she didn't want to be disappointed for the millionth time.

"EM! OH MY GOD! YOU WON" Daisy came running to her and hugged her from behind, giving a kiss on her cheeks.

"Yeah. Thanks." She smiled sadly. She was angry this time. Her fathers had disappointed her many times because of their work and keeping her private but this was one of the most important days of her life and they weren't there to support her. She was genuinely angry this time.

"What is it?"

"Papa, dad and Mason" she muttered through gritted teeth.

"Oh. I'm sure they have a reasonable excuse. You know how it is" Daisy pulled a chair beside Emily.

"Yeah I know. But I have NEVER demanded for anything. This was the first time I really wanted them here. I didn't even want to win the first prize, I just wanted Papa and Dad here to support me. They had promised"

"Forget it. Change, let's go for dinner. You favorite place? My treat" said Daisy, trying to cheer her up.

"Naah. I want to go home. I had planned something big for tonight. There was something important I had to tell my parents. But that's down the drain" she rolled her eyes as she packed her stuff up.

"What was it?" Daisy asked sincerely.

"I'll tell you later. First, I have to deal with three fucked up men" she stomped angrily towards the changing room.

Emily hurriedly changed into black leggings and a long light blue top. She put on her jacket and moved out.

She had forgotten about her trophy and cash prize on the table. She did not want it. For now, she only wanted an explanation on why they were not there.

Daisy, however, silently packed it into Emily's bag. Daisy still cared a lot about Emily.

"I called the cab. I'll drop you home" said Emily as she took her bag and walked out of the dressing room. Several people congratulated her and complimented her on her dance performance and her win but nothing seemed to cheer her up right now.

She dropped Daisy on her way home before thanking her for being there for her. Daisy was always there for her. Emily could not thank the God enough for the presence of Daisy in her life.

She unlocked the door and entered her home. She had thought it was empty but Louis sat on the dinner table talking to Harry on Face time.

His head turned to face Emily who had a hard expression on her face.

"Sweetie I'm so Sorry" Louis said sincerely.

"Why weren't you there?" She simoly asked.

"Henry called-"

"Off course. Papa? Why weren't you there?"

"I had a radio interview" Harry whispered.

"Okay. I'm going to take a shower and then sleep" she said as she walked past Louis.

"Emily please wait."

"WHAT!?" She screamed. Louis and Harry both were taken aback by her yelling. It was the first time that they had seen her so angry. They had only seen her sad, NEVER angry.

"Please try to understand pumpkin" Harry pleaded with soft eyes.

"I'm tired of understanding now papa and dad. I've been understanding since I was nine. I'm turning sixteen next month. I have never asked you anything so badly. I literally pleaded you for the first time to be there." Tears fell down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry sweetie"

"That's what you say always. It was the first time ever I was performing on stage. I was going to tell you something big afterwards. It was such an important day for me" she cried out. "You had promised. I won the first prize by the way. " she said with a vacant expression. "You know what? Its not even about me performing. Today, you both, Mason and Daisy, all of you were going to be there. 4 important people of my life. I was going to tell you something so important about my life"

"You can still tell us. Please Em. We are sorry" Harry called out.

"Well, fine, I'll tell you then" she sighed and wiper her tears roughly. She took a deep breath before opening her mouth but no words came out. "I'm bisexual" she finally said.

"Oh, That's great honey" Louis smiled.

"Yes. So amazing. So proud of you pumpkin" Harry smiled through the phone.

"You know what? I can't do this right now. I have to go. I have to tell Mason also and Daisy. I'm sorry but I just can't-" she said before taking off.

Louis kept calling out her name but she had run away on her bicycle. He quickly hung up with Harry and called her but she kept declining.

It had started raining and by the time she reached Mason's house, she was drenched.

She rang his doorbell and he opened the door.

"Mason" she sighed at his appearance.

"Emily I'm so sorry I wasn't there" he started.

"Save it. I have to tell you something. It might affect our relationship but you deserve to know"

"What is it Emily? And why are you so wet?" He asked taking in her appearance.

"I'm- I'm bisexual" she closed her eyes as soon as the words left her mouth.

"Cool" Mason smirked.

"What?" She looked up at him.

"Yeah, I mean, throw in your gay friend and we'd have an amazing threesome" said Mason.

"What?" She asked again disgusted by his comments.

"Yeah, I mean that's what you mean, right?"

"NO MASON. I MEAN THAT I AM BISEXUAL. BEING BISEXUAL DOESN'T MEAN THAT I WANNA HAVE THREESOME. HOW DARE YOU ASK ME THAT. WE'RE DONE" she slapped him across the fave before running back to her bicycle and paddling away.

Her chest ached as she went through the rain. The rain stopped soon enough as she kept cycling, God knows where. She cycled her way to Daisy's house to tell her about her bisexuality and possibly stay over the night.

She parked her cycle and walked towards her house rubbing her hands. Her head shot upwards to see Daisy pushed against her window with some girl kissing her with passion.  Her face dropped. She bit her lip before turning around and taking herself elsewhere.

At the house, Louis was panicking, Harry was booking flights to come to London. They had called everyone they know. Emily had blocked their numbers. Louis had called Zayn, Liam and Niall to see if she were there but had no luck. Louis took her car keys and pulled out of his driveway and drove aimlessly in search of his daughter, tears not stopping as the worst thoughts came to his mind.

Emily was cycling at a normal pace when the car in front of her stopped suddenly and she crashed into it.

She cursed before getting off to yell at the driver. When the car door opened, her eyes widened.

"Emily dear, what are you doing here so late. Look at you, all drenched" the man looked at her up and down.

"Good evening Mr. Warren. I was actually on my way to my house." She smiled awkwardly.

"I'll drop you then" he let out a crepy smile.

"No sir its okay. I have my bicycle" she said backing away.

Before she could get to her fallen bicycle Mr. Warren had grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. It was all too familiar.

"Mr. Warren what are you doing"

"Come one now sweetie, lets not make this difficult, ay?" He whispered as held both of her hands tightly dragging her towards the car.

His other hand creeped its way under her wet shirt. Emily's eyes shut at the weird feelings. It was like insects crawling over her skin. She protested as much as she could to get away but her hands seemed to get more and more in her shirt.

The grip around her body suddenly loosened as the hand got out of her shirt in a swift motion. She looked around to stare into blue eyes filled with anger as he punched Mr. Warren to death.

"Get in the car Emily"

She nodded hurriedly as she got into his car and let out a little sigh of relief. She knew she was safe now. It was the worst day ever she had.
