Cohen heard Sherryâs nagging from outside the door and felt bad for little Dan. Sammy was standing next to him and he was holding Sammyâs hand, even though he didnât call for him. He needed to help Dan out, âSherry, I did ask for Sammy!â
Dan turned his head and saw Cohen, he couldnât believe that Cohen lied on his behalf. He said honestly, âMom, I lied! Itâs my fault!â
William felt bad looking at Dan lonely and dejected expression. He went up and hugged him, âSherry, heâs still young! We should forgive him as long as he learns from his mistake!â
âI donât need your sympathy!â Dan pushed William away. âI was at fault. I will go to my room and reflect on my actions!â
âDan?â said Sammy, âIâll go with you!â
âWhat? I thought we were apprehending a pervert? I cannot do that alone!â Cohen tried to make up a story. âDan, we have not accomplished our mission!â
âMr. Sutton, they made a mistake and should reflect on their action. Donât help them! Dan, go to your room. Sammy, you cannot go with him. You didnât do anything! Dan, you did something wrong and hence you have to shoulder this yourself!â Sherry was strict about it.
Dan pouted and felt wronged. He bit on his lips and said stubbornly, âIâll go to my room if Mr. Rowland leaves! I donât want to see him bully you, mom!â
William was dumbfounded. He tried to help Dan, but Dan still wanted him to stay away from his mother. What a child!
Cohen laughed and exclaimed, âThe boy is right! You should get going, William.â
âIâll go to your room with you!â said William frustratedly. He carried Dan and said, âDan, you have not forgiven me, do you?â
âWell, you didnât protect mom!â Dan was surprised that William was willing to get punished together with him, but it didnât mean that he forgave William.
âWhich is your room?â William looked at the long corridor. âIs it that one?â
Dan pouted and walked into the room around the corner. He stood next to a wall in the room and faced towards the wall. He didnât say anything else after that.
âDan, why are you giving me the silent treatment?â William was puzzled. He stood right next to Dan. It was weird seeing two people with very different statures, standing side by side facing the wall.
Cohen rubbed his chin contently and held Sammyâs hand. He yelled across the corridor, âYou guys reflect on your actions! Iâll go have breakfast with Sammy.
âI donât want you here with me!â Dan grumbled.
âJust take it as me trying to make it up to you.â
âI donât need that. I donât like you either way!â
âWhy?â
âI lost my sister because of you, I hate you!â
William was speechless.
...
Sherry saw them standing in the corner of the room, both facing the wall. They had similar postures even though they were so different in stature.
William turned his head as he heard sounds, he saw Sherry and said, âSherry!â
âBe quiet!â said Dan. He ordered William to shut up.
âDan, Iâm done making up to you. You can be alone now, Iâll go accompany your mom!â said William as he pursed his lips. He was already walking away.
Dan frowned, âMom, donât be with him!â
He was small, but he was stubborn and sure of himself. He declared war against William and he had a serious and stern look on his face.
âDan, come eat after 5 minutes!â said Sherry as she ignored William.
âYes, mom!â The expression in his eyes then turned child-like and meek, âMom...â
It was because he saw William grabbing his mother by the waist. Sherry pushed Williamâs hand away, but William just moved his hand to another part of her body.
Dan was shocked. His eyes were filled with worries, âMom, ground me later okay? Iâll do this again later, okay?â
âYes, you can do this later!â said Sherry. She glared at William and slapped his hand which was on her waist. She then held Danâs hand and walked downstairs with him.
âMom, I want to sleep with you and Sammy tonight. Weâll drive the pervert away!â said Dan very seriously. He turned his head and peered at William.
He realized that Williamâs face was twisted and he looked odd.
âOkay! You guys can accompany me tonight!â Sherry nodded.
Dan blinked his eyes and said, âMr. Rowland, are you eating with us?â
Damn it! William rolled his eyes seeing the two slowly disappearing from his sight. He settled the issue with his father-in-law but couldnât handle this kid. Why was this kid such a smart ass? Why couldnât he act more like a kid?
He was drowned in self-pity. He got abandoned!
âShould we have more children in the future? These two are more than enough. Sherry might completely ignore me if we have another child!â
William felt conflicted!
Cohen noticed Sherry and Dan coming down the stairs. He said, âCome eat!â
âMorning Mr. Sutton!â Sherry was late with her greeting.
âSherry, would you stop calling me like that?â Cohenâs hand froze up as he was getting some soup. He glanced at William who was walking down the stairs. He made William try to convince Sherry last night, but it seemed like William was useless.
William shrugged. Sherry still needed some time and so Cohen couldnât do anything about it.
After the meal, the two children had to go to school. Cohen needed to go to the office but he wasnât so sure about leaving William here. He felt conflicted and was cheerless.
âMr. Sutton, donât worry about me! Head on to work!â said Sherry.
âI know!â But Cohen was worried about William.
âIâll take care of Sherry, donât worry about it, father-in-law!â William volunteered.
âNo need, he can go back. I want to be alone for a bit!â said Sherry.
âAlright, thatâs what my daughter said. Go back, William. Donât you need to go to work?â Cohen yelled.
âNo need, Iâll go after Sherry gets better!â said William as a matter of course.
Cohen was even more conflicted. Why did Sherry let William stay last night if she hated William? Did she really hate him? But why was she trying to make him go now? What was going on? He pondered briefly and said, âWilliam, you heard the lady. Iâll get rid of you myself if youâre not going to leave! Iâm heading to the office now!â
He decided to leave first.
William understood what Cohen was trying to tell him. He gently helped Sherry up and said, âMy dear, should we watch some television today?â
He realized that he had never done anything together with Sherry before. He wanted to make it up to her.
âI donât want to!â Sherry helped Gracie with packing. She could finally go out in two days. She wanted to do so earlier, but Gracie didnât allow her to.
Gracie told her that she had to rest properly after giving birth, or else it would be bad for her health.
She then walked up the stairs.
Sherry asked abruptly as she walked up the stairs, âIs my bag at your place?â
The photo album that was filled with pictures of William and Lucille was still in her bag. She assumed that since William didnât bring her bag over, he probably didnât see what was in it.
âYeah!â William nodded. âItâs in the car, Iâll go get it!â
He then went to get the bag.
Sherryâs phone rang the moment she got to the second floor. It was Celia.
âSherry, Sue had gone missing. Do you know where she is?â
âShe said she was taking some days off. How come she went missing?â Sherry felt her heart thumped.
âI just wanted to see if you know anything about it. My brother is engaged with Ashley! Their engagement party will be held next week. Do you know where Sue is?â Celia didnât want to give up. To her, the only person who was suitable to marry her brother was Susan!
âLeon is getting engage with Ashley?â Sherry was shocked at the news. âSue never contacted me. Iâll call her right now, wait for a bit!â
Susan and Leon were a perfect match, so why did Leon get engaged with Ashley? What would happen to Sue? Sherry took out her phone and called Susanâs number. But Susanâs phone was turned off.
She then called the company and they told her that Susan had resigned.
William got to the second floor and realized that Sherryâs face was blanched. He quickly asked concernedly, âSherry, what happened?â
Sherry ignored him and called Celia, âCelia, I couldnât find her. She resigned. She told me that she took some days off, but the company told me that she resigned. Do you know where she used to live?â
William didnât know what happened, but he knew that something bad was going on seeing Sherry so nervous.
Sherry hung up the call listlessly and sat down on the sofa, âWilliam, do you know where Susan lives?â
William was taken aback, but he quickly caught on, âSusan left her job?â
âYes!â She nodded. âLeon is going to get engaged with Ashely. Susan turned off her phone and we donât know where she is! Can you try to contact her?â
âI can think of something!â William didnât know about the engagement. The issue seemed pretty serious, âIâll get Liam to help!â
William called Liam and Liam was surprised at the news as well.
The news made everyone worried. William hung up the call and hugged Sherry tightly, âSherry, donâtâ worry. You have to focus on recovering, donât think about anything else!â
Sherry sighed, she was depressed, âThey were a match made in heaven. Why couldnât they be together? They loved each other so much, but they couldnât be together. Such a tragedy!â
...
William suddenly remembered seeing Susan and Cohen in Japan together. He had a sudden realization and quickly called Alexis, âAlexis, help me look into Susan and find out what she was doing for the past 5 years, as soon as possible!â
Sherry glared at him, she didnât understand what William was doing, âAre you going to find her like that?â
âYeah, itâs possible. Sherry, Iâm afraid that Sue and your father might have a past together!â
A Moment in Destiny ï¤Chapter 152 Mr. Lady-Killer The convenient Bride ï¤Chapter 414: There Is Nothing Happier Than This (Ending)
Predestined Marriage ï¤Chapter 1718: The End Sherry was shocked. She remembered Susan telling her the other day that she wasnât involved with Cohen in any way even though Sherry saw them kissed. Gosh, this was getting more and more complicated. She said worriedly, âWilliam, what are you suspecting?â
âSherry!â William looked at Sherry seriously and said after a long pause, âI suspect that father-in-law and Sue had an affair. This might be the reason why Sue refused to keep in touch with Leon for the past few years! They were going to get married and then Sue suddenly disappeared. And she came back after two years, working as a designer at AVL! Nobody knew where she was for the past two years, it was a mystery! And then we saw them kissing at the airport. They might really have something between them!â
âBut what would happen to Leon if she was really in a relationship with Mr. Sutton?â asked Sherry.
âYou should ask your father about it,â William sighed.
âWell, yeah! If Sue really had an affair with my father, will Leon still be able to accept her? And what will happen to Ashley?â Sherry was utterly confused, this was getting way too complicated!
