Update : Hi,I'll be making new chapters as much as I can.I've only watched Teenage Bounty Hunters in less than a week, and I'm obsessed.

Let me know if you have any ideas that would be great for the plot as I'm open to new suggestions.

Anyways,I hope you enjoy.

Sterling's POV

April

What are the chances of meeting her in a community centre doing community work? It's supposed to be zero.I can't believe this. It's like God wanted me to feel the pain again.

I haven't seen her since graduation which is upsetting because it's only months ago.

I can't let her see me here.Except why on earth is she here? She's like the least expected person to be here.

I went up to the lady and signed my name, and took a seat in the hall.It wasn't really classy but still well furnished and in a good state.

April still hasn't seen me yet which I'm thankful of cause I don't think making eye contact with her would make me feel any better.

Brian walks in,and looks around for a place to sit.He sat down next to April and surprisingly, both of them started talking like they were good friends.

I don't get it...

"Welcome, fellow adults. You're here only because you made quite the trouble, didn't ya?" This Southern male man came up to the center of the stage. The crowd didn't seem to be amused so he continued.

"I'm Jack and I handle pretty much everything around here."

"Some of y'all will be staying here for awhile and we've got lots to do.First on the agenda,we will be having a fundraiser next week and I need this place to be spotless." He continued talking except my eyes were glued to April.

Brian suddenly puts his hands around her, making me uncomfortable.I'm really confused right now and jealous?

No,I'm not jealous.Stop it,Sterl.Look away.

I turned my attention back to Jack, trying to remain calm? I can't do this.

"You'll be split up into groups and paired off together to do your tasks. This is also a good idea to reflect on your actions and if you must, share it with your new partners. They might even help you to deal with your issues."

Partners? Seriously? I mean as long as its not Brian,I'd be cool.Every time I look at his face, all I want to do is punch him.

If only he was our skip,Blair and I would've kick his ass.

"Sterling and April." The man announced, bringing me back from my weird imagination of kicking Brian's ass.

Seriously? I can't believe this.

Now,April was surveying the room intently, trying to find me.I hide behind the person in front of me the second I caught her eyes locked with mine.

No,no.She couldn't have seen me,I mean there's probably like another Sterling in this town, right.

"Well,I think surprisingly you are the only Sterling in this town." The guy who I was cowering behind turned and said.

I must've said it out loud,didn't I?

"Hiding from an ex?" He continued and I slowly move my head up to see if she's looking and she was.

"Yeahh..well technically she's  my enemy,actually." I laughed nervously,now hiding again.

"Is it bad that she's coming over to our direction now?" He said, and I panicked.

"What? That's really bad." I tried go lower but I think it was still useless.I should really learn how to hide from Bowser.

"You know, you're really bad at hiding.I'm Eric,by the way." He held out his hand, and I shake it.

"Sterling." I replied with a genuine smile.

He chuckles and nodded. "Good to meet you,Sterling."

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, until April was standing in front of me.

"You know,Sterling,I could still see you when you were hiding.Your head was popping out apparently." April looked down on me and then stride off.

"She knows how to bite." Eric commented and I nodded with a heavy heart.

"Well,I'll see you around,Eric." I stood up and waved him goodbye.

I followed April from behind, trying my best to keep the distance. She went into this room, where there was a broom and other equipments.

A woman was already by the door, waiting for both of us to enter.

"Sterling and April, right?" The woman questioned

and both of us nodded.

"You'll have to clean up this room together and only afterwards, you'll be allowed to go." The woman instructed and left afterwards.

Now it was just the both of us,the tension hanging over us.

I looked over at her,her ponytail was as high, and her face and lips were just as I remembered. She placed her bag down and started picking up the broom and sweep.

I did the same except I started arranging the tables and chair as they're supposed to.

This kept going on for like half an hour, where we were working in complete silence.I didn't even try to talk to her because I wouldn't know what to say.

"Oh hey. It's you who broke my heart and went out with Luke. How are you? And what are you doing here?" That's what I imagined myself saying to her in my head except I didn't want to.

There were side glances and hidden smirks(mostly me) that happened in between as we cleaned the room.We were actually almost done but I didn't want it to end.

"Hey,everything ok here?" Jack walked in,taking us by surprise.

"Oh hey, don't get a heart attack." He joked and I chuckled nervously.

"I just wanted to check on you girls.Have y'all talk to one another, cause I paired you both since you were from the same school.I thought that it'd be nice to ..."

"Yes,we have been talking,Jack. It's been fun to reconnect, right Sterling?" She said in her sweet voice to Jack and  glares at me,waiting for me to answer.

"Yeah...it is." I mustered a smile and forced a smile at April too.

Why is she asking me to lie?

I mean she've asked me to do that to Blair before so I guess this does not come as a shock anymore.

"That's good,so have you told each other why you're here?" He pressed on with the questions. He is very persistent.

"I...well..."April stammered, and fidgeted with her hands. She's never like this. She was being me.Jack was waiting for her to reply,as if he wanted to catch her red-handed.

"Yeah..she has and so have I." I said, saving her and both of us.His stern face changed to a more relaxed lively expression now as he turned to me.

"That's good.I guess you've gotten most of this done. You can leave now." He dismissed us with a smile and left the room.

"Why are you lying? You clearly haven't talk to me since just now and I just don't get you..." I faced her and let it all out in frustration.I was in the verge of crying.

This time,I held it together and waited for her to respond. With words.

Not silence.

"Sterl...I just didn't want extra weeks in my community work service, alright? I'm sorry." She said in a softer tone, and looked at me right in the eye with guilt. My heart only beats faster and I was feeling this hidden emotions again.

"Then why are you here?" I asked, stepping forward.I haven't done in awhile, stepping up to someone.

Like I said,I'm a pretty nervous person.

"I can't say,Sterl." She steps back and I sighed.

I don't get it,the whole story. This is confusing. Why is April here? Why did Brian attacked me in the first place?

She took her bag and left without another word,

and I left the room as well.

I didn't want to go without an answer so I tried to find Brian, looking for answers.

My attempts of searching for him in this huge community centre came off short.I didn't see him anywhere.

I called Blair to pick me up so I can drown my feelings for the day.

A few minutes later,Blair pulls up and I got in.From my damp cheeks, she definitely knows what I'm feeling right now.

"It's okay,Sterl.You'll get through it."

I hope so.
