Sterling's POV
"Yes?" Sterling repeated and April nodded,as a side smirk forms on her face.My face lights up and I picked her up,as she wraps her legs around my waist.
I kissed her softly,and I didn't want to let her go.This moment,it just felt right.Like the rainbow after a rain.The storm has subsided and I finally got the girl.
I mean after all these years,who would've thought.
"You're mine." April pulls away,whispering in my ear.The chills running down my spine but it was good one.
A week later,
"Hey babe,you wanna grab lunch?" I asked and she turns around, smiling behind her shoulders.
"Yeah,I'll be with you in a minute.I just need to grab something real quick." She replied, and rushing to god knows where since this place is huge.
I looked at the way she walks and damn if she's not mine,I don't want it.I checked her out a lil before looking at my phone, scrolling through TikTok.
We have established a rule where we don't have to own each other's account and just trust one another.I mean what's the whole point of being together if there's no trust and communication.We're all adults here.
After a few minutes, she comes back wearing a white polo shirt and mini white skirt and let me tell you,I am drooling everywhere.Maybe a little might have slipped but you get what I mean.
I'm counting my blessings right now because this girl is a snack.Figuratively or is it now?
"Babe!" I shouted and she was startled, taken aback. "What? What's wrong?"
"You look absolutely amazing, like you in that skirt.Mmmm." I snaked my arms around her waist and pulled her close.
"You gave me a heart attack,Sterl and thank you.I cleaned up nice just for you." She pecks me on the kiss and was about to untangle herself but of course I wouldn't let her.
I pulled her hand back and capture her lips with mine,making sure not go overboard and runs my hands along her jaw.She pulled away, smiling,avoiding eye contact.
Who looks that good and doesn't deserve a dose of love?
"What do you feel like eating, honey?" April lets out, intertwining our hands and I blushed.
Honey seems pretty old or like when we're married, but I still like the idea of her being mine.
"You pick,babe." I nudged her and she smirks.
"How about that Asian store that just opened up? The food there is spicy." She suggests,wrapping her arms.
The whole ride was April holding my hands throughout and stealing kisses whenever there's a red light.It was sweet and I don't say this enough but I have never been so happy in my life.
She's all I ever needed, all these times, we could've been together instead of bickering ALL the time.Love has made me weak and hopeless, huh?
I opened the door for April and it was apparently Thailand food,I wasn't sure with what they have but I guess I'll wing it anyways.
We talked about school and all other curriculums and just enjoyed ourselves because we don't often get to do that.
"That was really spicy though." I commented and she laughed.
"So,where do you want to go now?" April leans against the car,looking at me.
"How about my place? We'd get to watch Netflix and just hang out the whole day." She nodded.
April and I cuddled throughout as we watch fan clips of Clexa and Wayhaught.The most iconic couple that we have agreed on.We even have a crush on Lauren Jauregui.
Blair walks into the room and clears her throat.
"Oh hey Blair,what's up?" I looked up and April stiffens at the sight of Blair.They're still getting used to the idea of being around each other.
"Uhh..Mom called you." Blair lets out and I untangled myself from April's arms,and walked out of the room leaving them.
I hope I'm not in trouble...
"Hey Mom,what's going on?" I said and Mom was in a cute outfit.
"Whose that?" Mom nudged me and I scoffed.
"No one,Mom.She's just my friend.April."
"April Stevens?" She repeated and I nodded.
"I thought you and Blair hated her,I mean it's all Blair talks about aside from her football."
"Yeah but we've grown to know that we have a lot more in common than we thought and the times where we were fighting it was over something petty when all along..." I stopped myself before blabbering to her that we're together.That's the last thing I wanna do.
I mean what am I supposed to say? Hey we both go to church on Sundays and make out on Mondays.
"You know Sterling,if you need someone to talk to, you can come to me." She winks and starts getting ready.
"Where are you going,Mom?" I asked, and she smiled.
"I'm going out with Luke's Mom,even after all these years, we're like glue you know?"
"Yeah...okay then."
I walked up and Blair and April were staring at each other,like they just had an argument.
"What's going on here?" I swiftly join in and goes to April's side.
"Nothing...Blair and I are just talking.No harm done over here,baby." April reassured and I looked at Blair,who nods as well.She left the room,her eyes still lingering on April.
In the evening,
"Let's get away.Go on a trip." April suggested and I was enticed with that idea.Both of us did have the weekends to ourselves, although we might not make it for service on Sunday.
"And where would we go?" I moved closer and she takes my hand,looking up to meet my eyes.
"Wherever you go,I go, honey." She smirked, and sneak a kiss on my lips.She starts running away from my reach and I couldn't help but chase after her.
She was fast, faster than I thought.I managed to catch up and scooped her from right under and she giggled under my shirt.
I placed her down slowly and kissed her softly.We held onto each other and cuddled for the whole night till we both fell asleep in each other's arms.
I don't know what I'd do without her.Honestly.
The weekends rolled in and I was all ready and packed.This would be a great chance to reconcile and deepen our feelings for one another.Is it rushed though?
I don't wanna be that couple whose smitten and gets too mushy and ends up breaking because 'we're moving too fast'.
What if April changes her mind? What if she doesn't want to be with me anymore? What if her dad escapes from prison and comes to find her with me?
"Penny for your thoughts?" Blair walks in and moves to my side.
"Yeah,I'm just worried that we're moving too fast.I mean we just got together and we're already going for a trip, alone." I let out and Blair nudged me.
"C'mon! We're talking about April Stevens aka the person that you're crazy about for the past 3 years even if you never admit it to me or yourself."
"Perhaps but-" Blair hushed me before I could even elaborate.
"Trust me.You and April will have time of your life there, plus from what I've heard the lake is breathtaking."
"I guess you're right.Maybe this could be good for us."
"Sterling! April's here." Mom shouted from the living room and Blair gave me the look.
"C'mon now.Go get it with your girl." She teased and I rolled my eyes.I brought my luggage down and descend down the stairs,where Mom and Dad was waiting for me.
"You're all set, honey?" Dad asked and I nodded, and huddled both of them for a hug.
"We're going to miss you." Mom let out and I chuckled, looking at Blair.
"It's only two days,Mom.We'll be back by Sunday evening and I'll update you every now and then." I reassured her and she smiled, knowing that I was right.
I guess she was just worried because of what happened back then.
Blair opens the door for me and April was in her cute green outfit, which I absolutely love.
"Blair." April greeted and Blair nodded in acknowledgement. "April."
"April!" I went over to her side, not wanting to show affection to her just yet to my parents.
They know nothing about my relationship with April but going on a trip with her just proves another point of our very relationship.
"Have fun, girls!" Mom waved us goodbye and Blair helped with our bags, which was kind of her.Mom closed the door behind and I pulled April for a sweet kiss, I've been wanting to do that since we last met.
She smiled and pulled away, interlocking our fingers as we approached the car.
"All set.Have fun you two." She closed the boot and hugs me tightly.
"Aww.Thanks Blair." She winks at me before leaving us alone.
"Ready to take this show on the road?" April asks.
"You bet." I said and both of us got in with the idea of how this weekend will be the best one yet for us.
